עצה לקיים חלום

ב"ה

בספר המדות ערך חלום ח"ב כתוב: מי שרוצה שיתקימו חלומותיו, יכתב אותם בפנקסו ואת היום ואת השעה ואת המקום, ע"כ (ע' בראשית רבא (פג-יב) ע"פ (בראשית לז-יא) ויקנאו בו אחיו, ואביו שמר את הדבר. אמר ר' לוי נטל קולמוס וכתב באיזה יום ובאיזה שעה ובאיזה מקום, ע”כ). ונראה לעניות דעתי בביאור הענין, על פי מה שגילה הרמח"ל ביחוד היראה ז"ל וגם יש בכאן סוד החלום, שהוא חיבור ע"ב וב"ן, זווג א"א בנוק', וזה עושה סוד החלום וסוד החולם. וזה היה מה שהיה מחכים את ישראל במדבר, אעפ"י שהיו חוטאים, ונשארו אעפ"כ דור דעה, והוא סוד המדבר שהיו הולכים שם לעבור הס"א במקומה. ותבין כי החלום מתפשט אפילו לגויים, כי הוא עומד ביחוד, ואין מורא. ואח"כ חוזר ז"א ומזדווג עמה, מה שהיה רק בסוד התלבשות בדמיון, שאין התמונה בצורתה, אלא מתדמית כדרך החלום, חזר להיות מראה ממש בסוד הנבואה. והנה ישראל היו מקבלים רק בסוד חיבור א"א ונוק', יען היו ערום ועריה, אך אחר כך היו הדברים מתבררים להם על זו"ן, מפני כחו של משה, וזה שאמרו: “היש ה' בקרבנו" עכ"ל.
והרי מבואר שצריכים להביא את החלום – ולממש את החלום – ולעשות את החלום כנבואה על ידי שז"א חוזר ומזדווג עמה, ולכן היה נראה שזה הענין שגילה רבינו כאן, לכתוב את החלום וכו' כי זה בחי' זיווג ז"א עמה.

לא טוב היות האדם לבדו?

בראשית ב:יח ויאמר י"א לא טוב היות האדם לבדו אעשה לו עזר כנגדו, ופרש"י ז"ל שלא יאמרו שתי רשויות הן, הקב"ה בעליונים יחיד ואין לו זוג, וזה בתחתונים ואין לו זו (פרקי דר"א יב), ע"כ. וצ"ע שלכאורה מבואר שהמעלה העליונה של האדם היה שלא יצטרך להתחתן, אלא כיון שיש בזה סכנה שלא יאמרו שתי רשויות הוצרך להתנמך לזה שיצטריך עזר כנגדו, ואילו מכמה וכמה דברי חז"ל משמע שעיקר שלמות האדם הוא רק עם אשה. אכן ראינו אצל משה רבינו שהש"י צוה אותו לפרוש מאשתו, ולכאו' זה הדרגה של שבת במנחה שלא אומרים ישמחו כי אין זווג, כי האיש עולה הרבה יותר למעלה, ועם כל זה הרי הוא מחובר לאשתו, וכן אדם הראשון באותו מצב שהיה חשש שלא יאמרו שתי רשויות, הלוא דו פרצופים נברא, אפילו למ"ד לא לגמרי דו פרצופים, עכ"פ היה כלול בו גם הנקבא. וכן יחוד הקב"ה אינו אלא על ידי השכינה. ואצל משה רבינו י"ל לא היה חשש שיאמרו שתי רשויות כיון שהיה כבר נשוי. אי נמי י"ל שכל החשש הוא כאשר האדם יחיד למטה בתחתונים, שלא יאמרו שזה רשות בפני עצמו והעליונים רשות בפני עצמו. ואילו משה רבינו עלה לעליונים – עמוד פה עמדי. ונדב ואביהו שחז"ל אומרים היו בבחינה יותר גדולה ממשה רבינו, ועם כל זה חטאו בזה שלא התחתנו, אע"פ שמשה רבינו בדרגתו כבר נצטוה להיות פרוש, כי על כל פנים צריכים איזה קשר עם האשה כנ"ל, והרי אפילו הקב"ה שהוא יחיד בעליונים, משפיע ומתיחד עם השכינה הקדושה.

Vessels

HH

A vessel has walls which shut out the whole world and thus it is able to receive the amount it can hold. HY is Ain Sof - infinite - anything and everything that He desired to be able to seen in Him is going to be just a vessel which HY empowers the walls of this vessel to shut out His infinite presence, so that the vessel can actually show something particular to itself, what it contains. This is true at every level, even the highest height - the main thing to achieve is the shutting out of the Infinite so that one can attain what he is focused on.

In Likutay Moharan (#49), Rabbainu revealed further that a Jewish heart is Ain Sof, and from there on a person must build the constraints. That means a person already has such holiness, even higher than all the greatest tzaddikim ever, except that he is so overwhelmed and swamped that he is lost and unaware and detached, and in all likelihood he will find some tiny - probably bad - idea and latch on to it, and completely derail himself GF from the infinite and imprison himself GF in a vanity - mirage - of this world. By studying the Torah and screaming out to HY, one concentrates his focus and builds the walls of his vessels to shut out - even the immense light and goodness - until he can successfully achieve clear perception of holy concepts B"H.

This is what Rabbainu says in LM Torah 5, that the main thing is Yira - fear - which is the vessel, and even though the Ahava - love - is stronger, the Ahava comes automatically with the Yira. As soon as one has the vessel, the Love is already filling it up.

When a person is to receive a sum of money - a check - he needs a bank account, otherwise the check doesn't mean anything to him.

The currency is da'as (realization of knowledge) and the vessel is fear - Yira. [This is the secret of the revelation in the Ain Sof, the secret of AHYH ashehr AHYH].

If a person doesn't go out to the fields and communicate with HY - he doesn't have the vessel - he has no way of hearing HY. So unless he does some unbelievable act of G-dliness which will merit him to a complete metamorphosis - that HY gives him a transformation of special vessels so that he can even experience and live the Divine in his regular life - he doesn't stand a chance of catching even a ray of light from HY. He simply is not plugged in to the circuit.

A teacher gave out a test. Before starting the test the teacher instructed to turn the test over - with the blank side up, and then let the class proceed - setting a two hour time limit to finish. The teacher never told them to turn the paper back over, but most people do just that, they don't follow the real instructions, and they might answer some or even all of the questions - but they failed miserably.

The Ramchal says that all the yichudim - unifications/kabalistic meditations - must be done in the field - they simply aren't designed to work in a house or settlement. Most people don't pay attention to this - if they go to the field, then how can they proceed with the devotions. But the real devotion is to follow the real instructions.

There's a great deal more to be said, but B"H at least I got all of this down.

Likutay Halachos

One of the most amazing and important works in all of history is Rabbi Nussun of Breslov's Likutay Halachos. So why would someone (the Chofetz Chaim), fifty years later name his own compilation by the same name?! Was he unaware of this awesome classic?! Or maybe he did it for the sake of Heaven, to conceal those who were learning the real thing, for there was great opposition against them... Either way it is very strange.

Succa the aspect of Tachanun

It seems to me that Succa has the aspect of Tachanun when we raise 'mah"n' (ma-yin nukvin - feminine waters), in Tachanun to do this we must lower our souls etc. but on Succos we are encompassed by Eema, and the Ushpizin are the mah"n. This can be why the Ramchal directs one to shake the lulav and do hallel in the Succa even if it means praying shacharis alone. The shaking of the lulav is the aspect of bringing the 'mah"d' (ma-yin duchrin - male waters), even though this is still at the building stage before the conjugation which only takes place at the end - it is still the aspect of the role of yesod as Rabbi Nussun writes explicitly in Likutay Halachos (Laws of Succah 1).
This is why Succos is called rishon licheshbon avoanos (the first day of the reckoning of sins). Because the mah"n and expansion of holiness which is produced draws from the border of holiness, as is known, and this is the secret of Binyumin, who is the aspect of mah"n and the aspect of the Land of Israel, see Likutay Moharan Torah 48 where Rabbainu revealed that Succa is the aspect of Israel and the aspect of drawing offspring (prayer) from the potential of good and bad (yitzeera litav yitzeera liveesh).

רבים מקשים מה זה שאנו מבקשים סלח לנו (בשמונה עשרה) מיד אחר יום כיפורים, וכבר רבו התירוצים. ותמיד יש להשיג יותר סליחה. ורבינו גילה בלקוטי מוהר"ן תורה ו' שמיד אחר שמשיגים איזה מדרגה צריכים לבקש סליחה על קטנות ההשגה שהיה לך מקודם. ונראה עוד שצריכים לבקש סליחה על זה שאנו לא מאמינים לגמרי בלב שלם שבאמת קבלנו כפרה וטהרה שלמה...

שבע כבשת

ביום ראשון של ראש השנה הלכתי מאוחר לציון הקדוש לשמוע קריאת התורה, וקראתי בתורה ונתנו לי העליה שבו אברהם אבינו מציג שבעה כבשת לעשות ברית עם אבימלך. והבנתי ש"כבשת" זה הבחי' שהרמח"ל גילה ביחוד היראה, שצריכים להוריד הח"י אורות שהם באמת כ' לה"תש"ב", וזה כ-בשת. ואכמ"ל. והלואי שאזכה בעזה"י.

More travel adventures

The flight from Kiev to Israel was 11 am, so I ordered a taxi in Uman for 5:30 – the trip is 3 hours. There were delays and I only arrived at the airport at about 9:15. After replacing my Nanach rings after passing security I soon realized that I somehow lost one, may HY replace it speedily (this is apparently a מקום מיועד לפורעניות – a place of misfortune – because previously I had lost some cable by the security, but B”H I retrieved it). On the way I had done an online check in, but I still had a bag to give them, so I was waiting in the line, up ahead there were problems they were charging someone for his baggage and for overweight and he wasn't giving in so easily, and meanwhile people had found ways around the side, and I remained stuck till about 10:25 when my plane had already started boarding. So I step up and the lady tells me that I have to pay $60 for a bag, and I try telling her that the UKRAINIAN AIR website states explicitly that the first bag is free – but to no avail. Meanwhile it is already 10:35, and the guy behind me is extremely jittery and begging me to just let him go. So I give her my credit card to pay the 60, but in the Ukraine they need you to key in your code, and I haven't used it in years, I try something, but it didn't work, I open my laptop dig into a file, find some more codes, no go. Meanwhile the lady had printed out a boarding pass for me – either based on my online check in, or figuring that my credit card was going to go through. So now she hands me my credit card and my passport and boarding pass – it's 10:40, and I ask her what to do, and she just shrugs helplessly. So I strengthen myself with the power of the holy petek, and I proceeded to security where they stop me and say no you can't take this – B”H from my vast experience and faith, I knew that they were just referring to the cart, so I left the cart behind and barreled down to the gate with my knapsack, laptop, suitcase, and bag of food. At the gate I had to pass by two more inspections, and I proceeded to the plane, where once again I was stopped, and they asked me to wait outside with my suitcase, but B”H they just put in the cabin, and I picked it up from the conveyor belt.

Real Real Effort

In Sichos HuRan (Words of Rabbi Nachman) article 121, Rabbainu belittled the effort of the chasidim. He likened their great show of enthusiasm and shouting out in prayer to the charade he played when he was captive on the pirate ship and every man was required to help pull up the anchor, and so Rabbainu was forced to show dramatic effort as if he was pulling with all his might. The chasidim were on fire - they were praying with Rabbainu, and yet Rabbainu said that it was all external and superficial. One must really jolt himself intensely - to beam inside a glimpse of the awesome magnitude of HY, way way and beyond our puny cognizance. There's a great deal more to be said about this, but I'm happy that I've finally at least got this down, because I've been wanting to post about it for a long time, from here on let the reader know for himself the true score and what he must strive to achieve...

BH now I merit to expound a little more.

See Sichos HuRan (Words of Rabbi Nachman) article 170, Rabbi Nussun asked Rabbainu how is it that we see people serving HY with great effort and they fail to attain the levels of the tzaddikim, and Rabbainu answered him that apparently they aren't really expending true effort, see there. Because when one really gives all he has to the devotion of HY, he will merit to get a "jolt" a true realization and awakening beyond the scope of his small consciousness.

Many people feel they are incapable or exempt from attaining high levels of dvaikus (binding) to HY and Torah knowledge. But the reality is that even the smartest and most talented person is quite insignificant and infinitesimal in the arena of true spiritual attainment (- the greatest olympic athlete can only do so much with his body, whereas one who has help even from the lowest angel of the lowest world can fly and carry about as he pleases with ease). The main thing, which every person is capable of and must strive for, is to truly light up his soul in the truth of HY, and according to how much one merits to do so, so will he rise and include himself in the unity of HY.

Be Happy

For some years already it has become popular B"H to promote spending time thanking HY in detail for all the good things we have going for us. This has of course many fringe benefits, one of which is more satisfaction with what one has, and even joy. Even still this is also a devotion and task which entails a complete procedure of things one must do: come up with the positive points and do the thanking, and as such it can also be a chore and cumbersome, and can also be an impediment, as if one needs to do this thanking in order to be in good standing. So let me introduce B"H something more basic and fundamental - just sitting and being happy as Rabbainu said that it is a great mitzva to always be happy (In Yiddish there is such a concept of kvelling - just sitting and seeping delight "shepping nachas" - which is a derivative, but not necessarily the bud itself, a person can find plenty of delight in things and yet not be happy. In fact the Talmud points out that on Shabbos the Torah commands us to have Oaneg - delight, and on Yom Tov - holidays - to have "simcha" - happiness and joy - they are two things (Rabbainu revealed that even on Shabbos the main thing is "simcha")). So just take a moment, and feel happy. Be happy with HY as it says in Psalms - Israel shall rejoice with his Maker.

And when things are just not working out, and they are just beyond your control or ability, take a moment and just be happy. And even if G"F you have just failed or feel you are a failure, just take a moment and be happy.

Uman 2016

BH the media is saying that 60,000 people traveled to Uman for Rosh Hashana, which probably means that there were actually many thousands more, but who knows, B"H the housing has spread out in every direction, and there is much more organization and experienced groups working in congruity. Now very close to the holy tomb there are new accommodations that can comfortably house thousands - besides for new situations expanding out in every direction as mentioned. B"H. The locals in Uman have also finally started to rise to the occasion, and for the first time one big supermarket had labeled kosher shelves and special attendants to facilitate the pilgrims. That is besides the annual market which takes place, and the many new Jewish stores and services which line the roads and abound B"H. Huge Nanach signs went up in and around the holy tomb B"H. Even still we are ashamed that we have not succeeded in properly promoting the essential essence of Rabbainu Na Nach Nachma Nachman MeUman. Many are all proud that there were 60 or even 100,000 people, but the reality of this number is quite pathetic. If we were to properly show the world who Rabbi Nachman is - to show them his power as he revealed in the holy Petek which he signed: Na Nach Nachma Nachman MeUman - the whole world would be flocking to even get just a fleeting moment by the holy tomb to pronounce the amazing wondrous incantation, the New Song: Na Nach Nachma Nachman MeUman, to be included in the awesome elevating unification which will secure for them unfathomable rectification and advancement of success and good fortune.

Afghanistan turns to Nanach

A delegation of 30 Afghanistans, two of them members of the Parliament, wish to convert to Judaism. 200,000 are interested in learning about Judaism. 2,000,000 wish to proclaim that they are Israel.

BH this is the fruit of 4 years of sending daily packages of Rabbainus stories translated into Pashtun.

Rosh Hashana is essentially about leaving your wife and going to Uman

Rosh Hashana is the day that Adam was created, and when HY put him to sleep and separated from him what He created as Eve. The entire Kabala is replete with this theme called "nesseera" the removal and separation of Eve from Adam. From Rosh Hashana on we are busy completing the countenance of the Shechina (the aspect of Eve) and finally reuniting her with her husband (Ze'ehr Anpin- the Small Countenance/Adam). That is why it is very simple to understand why the essential idea of Rosh Hashana is to separate from one's wife, and go to Uman (the Creator).

Hence it is very understandable why all the ignorant aimless people endlessly bicker over how people leave their wives to go to Uman for Rosh Hashana - because that is precisely what is necessary and called for, so that is where they will put down opposition...
