This
is an old question with many humorous answers [- check out this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVfdWMT0a28]. The bottom line, in my
opinion is that being Nanach means that one completely understands
and accepts Rabbi Nachman to be the first and final authority on
every facet of life. There are those that argue that this attainable
without believing in the holy petek, but in my opinion that is not
possible.
To
make it clear with a few fundamentals, being Nanach according to the
above criteria, means not having any association with any
contemporary rabbi, and it means that one is extremely active – or
knows that he should be – in hafatza (dissemination of Rabbi
Nachman's teachings). It means that the most important thing in his
life, other than hafatza and Rabbainu himself (don't start saying
Hashem, because this article is written on Hashem and with Hashem),
is getting up to start the day at midnight, which is 6 hours after
nightfall, and the highest devotion is hisbodidus, followed by
learning Rabbainu's torah, and it would be ideal for him to be
occupied the entire day just doing hisbodidus. When there is any
issue or question, he isn't interested in anything but what Rabbainu
has to say about it, and what he can clarify in hisbodidus.
Now
there are those who claim that is possible to meet all the above and
so forth, and not believe in the Petek, I don't think so, maybe such
a person would not openly be Nanach, but ultimately he would believe
in his heart. If it is possible, than obviously the person is not
Nanach, and very very very very far from Nanach. Because the main
thing is Rabbainu, and Rabbainu is Na Nach Nachma Nachman MeUman!
The
entire redemption is contingent on Rabbainu and his name Na Nach
Nachma Nachman MeUman!
The Nanach realizes this, that more than anything he can achieve or fathom, everything is dependent on Rabbainu and his name Na Nach Nachma Nachman MeUman!
The Nanach realizes this, that more than anything he can achieve or fathom, everything is dependent on Rabbainu and his name Na Nach Nachma Nachman MeUman!
That
is why I am used to telling people, that the bottom line is, when you
are Nanach, you will know it and say it, and until then hang in
there. Nanach makes life very clear, everything falls in place.
Na Nach Nachma Nachman MeUman1
