King over Sadness

A parable
Once there was a king who suffered many devastating losses and setbacks, yet he remained entirely upbeat and joyous. Some of his slaves including Sadness and Despair confronted him saying that his attitude was inappropriate. The king replied as long as you are my slaves I have no reason to be sad or despair and I will rejoice in my kingship.
