 Letter 89

 

BH. 23 Iyar, [5]724 (Tuesday – May 5, 1964).

 

In honor of the president of Israel, the coveted of my heart, Mr. S. Z. Shazar – who sharpens and delves the eyes of his intellect to discern and understand the true, bright and clear truth in order to heal and rectify the fragments of his soul and the souls of the Jewish people who are rolling outside in the torrent of malicious waters, and no man gathers them home. Fortunate are you in that you have merited to taste the blissfulness of the truth, and fortunate are you in that you have fallen in the lot of this Tzaddik, the awesome, the wonder, who performs great and awesome wonders with you in order to enliven you and to draw you close to God, blessed He.

Peace and true life, new and fresh.

 

Know that one who speaks and seduces his friend to fear of Heaven – a book is made from all the words that he speaks with his friend (See Sefer Hamidos, Fear:5).

Through the drawing close to the True Tzaddik one will arrive at fear of Heaven, through which he will not fall from his greatness and he goes and grows; and his enemies will stumble and fall under him.

In the merit of serving the Tzaddik, one is saved from death.

One who wants to do a favor for the Tzaddik, the Holy One, blessed He, gives him the power for this (Sefer Hamidos, Tzaddik:110).

One who brings a gift to the Tzaddik, the Holy One, blessed He, pleases him (Sefer Hamidos, Tzaddik:171).

Sometimes, through one small satisfaction that one brings to the Tzaddik, he merits to the World to Come (See Sefer Hamidos, Tzaddik:107).

The essence of a man is recognizable through his affiliation – when one sees to whom he is close (Sefer Hamidos, Tzaddik:98).

The praise one extolls of the Tzaddik – it’s as if he is extolling the Holy One, blessed He (See Sefer Hamidos, Tzaddik:147).

That which the opposition speaks against the Tzaddik is a great honor for the Tzaddik (See Sefer Hamidos, Tzaddik:129).

All the levies the nations collect from the Jewish people are only because of the blemish that they affected in the honor of the Tzaddik (Sefer Hamidos, Tzaddik:128).

When the Tzaddik says some words, as long as the words have not been fulfilled in that its time has not yet come – these words are engraved in the Upper World, but it doesn’t radiate brightly. And when the time comes for it to be fulfilled, the words then begin to shine brightly (See Sefer Hamidos, Tzaddik:48).

You should always side to save those being pursued (Sefer Hamidos, Contention:70).

A contentious person – even though he is an intellectual (he knows how to study Torah), do not honor him (Sefer Hamidos, Contention:65).

In a place of contention, the Satan is there (Sefer Hamidos, Contention:66).

Through the dispute that they are waging against the Tzaddik, wars are aroused (Sefer Hamidos, Contention:73).

Sometimes, through the lowliness that a person degrades himself or others degrade him – through this a decree of death is annulled from upon him (Sefer Hamidos, Humility Part 2:4).

Through humility, one lives a long life (Sefer Hamidos, Humility:7).

Through humility comes charm (Sefer Hamidos, Humility:14).

Through humility, they add greatness onto his greatness (Sefer Hamidos, Humility:6).

Through humility, they aren’t punctilious about his deeds (Sefer Hamidos, Humility:8).

שלום וחיים אמיתיים חדשים ורעננים

דע כי מי שמדבר ומסית את חברו ליראת שמים, כל הדיבורים שמדבר עם חברו, נעשה ממנו ספר. על ידי התקרבות לצדיק האמת יבוא לידי יראת שמים, ועל ידי זה אינו נופל מגדולתו והולך וגדל, ושונאיו יהיו נכשלים ונופלים תחתיו. בזכות שימוש הצדיק, אדם ניצול ממיתה. מי שרוצה לעשות טובה להצדיק, הקדוש ברוך הוא נותן לו כוח לזה. מי שמביא דורון להצדיק, הקדוש ברוך הוא עושה לו נחת רוח. לפעמים על ידי נחת רוח אחד ומעט שעושין להצדיק, זוכין לעולם הבא. מהות האדם ניכר על ידי התקרבותו, כשרואין למי הוא מקורב. השבח שמשבחין את הצדיק כאילו משבחין את הקדוש ברוך הוא. מה שהחולקים דוברים על הצדיק, הוא כבוד גדול להצדיק. כל הגביות שאומות העולם גובין מישראל, אין זה אלא בשביל הפגם שפגמו בכבוד הצדיק.

כשהצדיק אומר איזה דיבור כל זמן שהדיבור לא נתקיים, שעדיין לא בא זמנו, הדיבור הזה חקוק בעולם העליון אבל אין מאיר בבהירות, וכשמגיע הזמן שמתקיים, אזי הדיבור מתחיל להאיר בבהירות.

לעולם תצדד להציל את הנרדפים. בעל מריבה, אף על פי שהוא למדן, אל תכבד אותו. במקום מריבה שם השטן. על ידי מחלוקת שחולקין על הצדיק, נתעוררים מלחמות. לפעמים, על ידי שיפלות שאדם משפיל את עצמו או אחרים משפילים אותו, על ידי זה מבטלין מעליו גזרת מיתה. על ידי ענוה, מאריך ימים. על ידי ענוה בא חן. על ידי ענוה מוסיפין לו גדולה על גדולתו. על ידי ענוה אין מדקדקין אחר מעשיו.
