 Letter 110 

 

With the Help of God. 11 Adar Ⅰ, [5]727 (Tuesday – Feb. 21, 1967).

 

In honor of the president of Israel, the delight of my heart, Mr. S. Z. Shazar – who has delved with his exalted wisdom and understanding in order to know and reflect where the True Leader is – to engrasp and unite in Him in truth; and who covets and tunnels to draw all the Jewish people to this Leader who can enlighten the knowledge and conception of His Divineness even in us – amidst the magnitude [and] immenseness of the darkness that is in this generation. Peace, health, and all the best.

 

Yesterday I merited to visit your dear sister, the noble Miriam – may God heal and recuperate her speedily in the merit of the holy and awesome Rabbeinu. And behold, there was great joy between us as is customary; and for the sake of my honor, she ate all the foods of the afternoon meal.

 

I am very weak, and I am not in a state of health. And because of this I have not yet arranged the introduction to the holy book; and my eyes are suspended and expectant to Hashem, blessed he, that He should merit me to overcome all the stumbling-blocks shortly, and to start and finish the matter in the best [possible] way like the desire of his [third person] heart.

 

The matter of our bond – which is entirely just pure and brilliant truth without any blemished thought of honor, boasting, or money and so forth, God forbid – is only truly for the sake of Heaven alone: in order to have compassion on the Jewish people with true compassion – to publicize and make known to all who is the King of Glory, who is the True Leader of this generation. Which He is the essence of all our lifeforce and hope, He is our consolation and our Redeemer for each and every generation for eternity.

 

Your faithful lover who yearns day and night with expiration of the soul for your health and good, and who always prays for your complete recovery in body and soul – which this is the benefit of the Jewish nation:

לכבוד נשיא ישראל חמדת לבי מר ש.ז.שזר אשר העמיק ברוממות חכמתו ובינתו לדעת ולהתבונן היכן המנהיג האמת להתאחז ולהתאחד בו באמת וחומד וחותר להמשיך כל ישראל אל המנהיג הזה שיכול להאיר ידיעת והשגת אלקותו אפילו בנו בגודל עוצם החושך שבדור הזה. שלום ובריאות וכל טוב.

אתמול זכיתי לבקר את אחותך היקרה מרים האצילה ה' ירפא ויבריא אותה מהרה בזכות רבינו הקדוש והנורא. והנה היה בינינו שמחה גדולה כנהוג, ולכבודי אכלה כל המאכלים של ארוחת צהרים.

אני חלוש כח מאד ואינני בקו הבריאות, ובעבור זה עוד לא סדרתי את ההקדמה להספר הקדוש, ועיני תלויות ומצפות להשם יתברך שיזכני להתגבר על כל המכשולים בקרוב ולהתחיל ולגמור הדבר בכי טוב כרצון לבו. ענין הקשר שלנו שהוא כולו רק אמת זך וצח בלי שום מחשבה פגומה של כבוד והתפארות או כסף וכדומה חס ושלום. רק באמת לשם שמים בלבד לרחם על ישראל ברחמנות אמיתי לפרסם ולהודיע לכולם מי הוא מלך הכבוד מי הוא המנהיג האמת שבדור הזה שהוא עיקר כל חיותינו ותקוותינו הוא נחמתינו וגואלינו לדור דור לנצח, אוהבך הנאמן המתגעגע יומם ולילה בכלות הנפש לבריאותך וטובתך ומתפלל תמיד על רפואתך השלימה בגוף ונפש שזהו טובת עם ישראל.
