Letter 127

Baruch Hashem. 24 Sivan, [5]732 (Tuesday – June 6, 1972).

To my beloved one, my brother, my precious and likeable one, my heart and soul – which God delights in him and boasts in him in all the worlds – the honorable Mr. Shimshon Efrati shlit”a [may he live for the length of good days, Amen). God shall guard him from all bad, from all illness or pain; and He should heal him and his household speedily in completeness, for the length of good, true days and years, Amen.

Please, oh please judge me favorably; and you should not have on me any upset [feelings] or grudge over this that I have not responded to you – to all your letters, which are extremely precious and pleasant to me immeasurably so. And behold, after the recent Festival of Passover I arrived home and found your two letters whom are more precious to me than all riches; and I read them with great and immense love and joy, and I immediately prayed for you and for your household that God should have mercy upon you [plural], and He should sweeten and nullify from you [plural] all the pain and suffering that is passing over you, and He should give you a recovery and a salvation in all the matters, in body and soul.

And know, my brother, my friend, that I have great satisfaction each time that I merit to see your handwriting – for all your words go out from your heart in truth, and I see in them that God, blessed He, has granted you and given you a heart that perceives something from another thing, and beautiful vessels more precious than fine gold – so that you should be able to receive in them the sequestered and concealed light which exists now in our days in the world, that which transcends over all the wondrous lights that were from the day [/from the time] of the world’s creation: He is the awesome Rabbeinu, [the] Gushing Stream that informed us that He is the True Leader in this generation of ours and in all coming generations; and He can extract and elevate the whole world from all the downfalls, darkness, impurities, and filth; [and He can] rectify the entire world and return them all to God and His Torah – even the ones who are totally estranged from the holiness of the Torah, and even the nations of the world – so that they should all know God and serve Him with one accord.

Each and every word that went out of the mouth of the awesome Rabbeinu goes downward, downward until the depths of the bottommost abyss and elevates everyone higher, higher than the heavens of the heavens. Who can arrange their praise, who will relate the awesomeness of their greatness – there is nothing comparable.

לאהובי אחי יקירי וחביבי לבי ונשמתי אשר ה" משתעשע בו ומתפאר בו בכל העולמות. כ"מר שמשון אפרתי שליט"א ה" ישמרהו מכל רע מכל מחלה וכאב וירפא אותו ואת ביתו מהרה בשלימות לאורך ימים ושנים טובים אמתיים אמן

נא ונא לדון אותי לכף זכות ולא יהי' לך עלי קפידא וטינא כלל על זה שלא השבתי לך על כל מכתביך היקרים והנעימים לי מאד בלי שיעור והנה אחרי חג הפסח העבר באתי לביתי ומצאתי שני מכתביך היקר לי מכל הון. וקראתי אותם באהבה ובשמחה רבה ועצומה, ותיכף התפללתי עליך ועל ביתך שירחם ה" עליכם וימתיק ויבטל מכם כל הצער והיסורים העוברים עליכם ויתן לכם רפואה וישועה בכל הענינים בגוף ובנפש. ודע אחי חביבי כי יש לי נחת גדול בכל פעם שאני זוכה לראות כתב ידך כי כל דיבוריך יוצאים מלבך באמת. ואני רואה בהם כי השי"ת חנן אותך ונתן לך לב מבין דבר מתוך דבר וכלים יפים יקרים מפז כדי שתוכל לקבל בהם האור הגנוז והצפון שנמצא עכשיו בימינו בעולם העולה על כל האורות הפלאות שהיו מעת מיום בריאת העולם הוא רבינו הנורא נחל נובע שהודיע לנו כי הוא המנהיג האמתי בדורינו זה ובכל הדורות הבאים, והוא יכול להוציאינו ולהעלות כל העולם מכל הירידות והחשכות והטומאות והזוהמות ולתקן כל העולם ולהחזיר כולם לה" ותורתו אפילו הרחוקים לגמרי מקדושת התורה ואפילו אומות העולם שידעו כולם את ה" ולעבדו שכם אחד.

כל דיבור ודיבור שיצא מפי רבינו הנורא יורדים למטה למטה עד עמקי תהום תחתית ומעלה הכל למעלה למעלה משמי השמים מי יערוך שבחם מי יספר נוראות גדולתם אין דוגמתם.
