All the great leaders, almost all of them, are actually insane.

What we see, that all the great leaders, almost all of them, are actually insane, as we see with our senses that everyone who is rich has great insanity. Know, that wealth [mammon – money] makes him insane. For wealth [mammon] is from the fall of the wealth of the prophets. For all the prophets were rich (Nedarim 38a). And prophecy, when it came upon the prophet, was like becoming insane, as Rashi explained: “And he prophesied” – and he became crazed (1 Samuel 18:10). And with the aforementioned leaders, through wealth [mammon], it becomes complete insanity. And therefore, they become insane through their wealth.
