As Long as a Person Hears Another Person, It Is Not Good

During tefillah [prayer], as long as a person hears then another person, that is, he hears and feels that another person is standing during his tefillah, it is not good. For every person during his tefillah must imagine in his mind that there is only I and Hashem [G-d] alone. And in the teaching of Abba Shaul, etc., "Once I ran after a deer, etc." [Likutay Moharan I:55], there it is explained a greater nullification during tefillah, that a person is obligated to nullify himself so much during tefillah that he does not feel himself at all during his tefillah, only Hashem alone.
