Death penalty for the false proclamation of the coming of Messiah

HH the Talmud in Chulin 63a records that the Ruchum bird, also known as the shrakrak on account of the sound of its chirping, is a harbinger for the coming of the Messiah, when it does its shrakrak from the ground. Once it did so falsely and a stone came down from heaven and severed its brains.
