Yishmael vs Esau

 HH

People point out that as bad as the germans were, they don't compare to the musl.. The germans at least tried to hide what they did, not like the musls. who recorded their barbaric atrocities and broadcasted them to the world bragging about them, and the germans had a few that refused to join, and there were even a few heros who saved Jews at great personal risk.

The reason i think is found in this week's parsha Va'yaitzay. Esau, who was already an established murderer, idolator, adulterer, and thief, would not kill Yaakov as long as Yitzchok is alive. He did however send Elifaz to kill him. Elifaz, someone who slept with his father's wife, and other peoples' wives as well, and married his daughter from one of these affairs. Elifaz is the father of Amalaik the arch evil of the world and history, but even still he could not bring himself to kill Yaakov, Rashi says, because he was brought up in the bosom of Yitzchok.

This is the power of Yitzchok. Awesome.

There are 207 letters in the holy Pettek, with the inclusive 208 = Yitzchok

The Klipa of Ishmael on the Land of Israel

HH

Rabbi Nussun explains (Likutay Halachos brought down is Outpouring of the Soul) that there is a klipa (evil husk) of Edom-Esau which is a persuasion not to pray at all, whereas the klipa of Yishmael - who was named that because Hashem listened to his prayers - this klipa is a persuasion to suffice with the salvation that was delivered due to the prayers, when in reality that deliverance should be a mere hint to what a person should still anticipate from the goodness of Hashem Yisburach, and one should take whatever salvation he was answered with in stride and keep praying harder for even much greater deliverance.

So BH it is true that in our times we have merited to many salvations, like the privilege to go to Uman, to live in Israel, to live comfortably etc., and for many this is sufficient, but the reality is that we still need much much more from the goodness and graciousness of HY.

So keep praying!

Humility

HH

The Chok Liyisroel on the Torah portion of Va-yichee, Friday (-available in English at echok.org) in the section of mussar - ethics, brings the most awesome revelation from our Sages. That all the hardships and miseries that Jacob suffered, the rape of his daughter Dina, the kidnapping of his prized son Joseph, and many more, were all brought upon him from HY so that he would not have haughtiness over his brother Esau [who was a serial killer, rapist, extortionist etc. on an altogether different level]! #Mindboggling.

Rabbainu said that he could easily put an end to all the strife against him, but he always has to ascend to higher levels to draw close to HY, and strife elevates a person, and there are certain levels are attainable only through being a victim of strife, may HY save us.

All levels are ultimately evaluated and classified according to the humility therein, because humility is the highest trait, and therefore it is the deciding and overall definer of every level (just like a billionaire isn't called a millionaire, so too every level is defined by its highest value). Rabbainu said that he was the humble one of all the tzadikim. Rabbainu was always seeking to be yet even more humble and more humble, to no end at all, to the Ain Sof (the Infinite One who has no end) blessed He.

Rabbainu said that a tzadik can be so great that he has no one to be embarrassed from, just from HY Himself. A tzadik can revel in his inadequacy before HY.

Nanach on the Torah Portion of Toldos - References to all the original teachings of Rabbi Nachman of Breslov and his disciples

Toldoas – פרשת תולדות – The offspring (of Yitzchok)

And his hand was grasping the heal of Esau.

Yaakov does not allow Esau to finish his scheme

Likutay Halachos, Laws of the Ninth of Av (Tisha Bi'uv) and Fast days 4:14

And Yaakov was a wholesome <tum> man abiding in tents.

The essential holiness of man is in the house, “abiding in tents,” even still one needs to be entering and exiting, and for this one needs to be drawn close to true tzadikim

Likutay Halachos, Laws of a Sefer Torah 4:22

___________

Yaakov's main study was in the holy faith

Likutay Halachos, Laws of Hefker (ownerless) and Possessions of a Convert 4:32

And Yitzchok loved Esau because he preyed deceptively (on Yitzchok) with his mouth (translated according to the Medrash brought in Rashi).

The stringencies of Esau were due to mishpat (judgment) which wasn't included into tzeduka (benevolence) which is defective

Likutay Halachos, Laws of Gifts 5:37

And Yaakov cooked a broth.

Symbolic to the very conflict between Yaakov's consolation and happiness in his belief of resurrection and cycle of good which breed holy eating and earned him the blessings verses Esau's anxiety and entrenchment in the morbid

Likutay Halachos, Laws of Blessing of Thanksgiving 6:18

Sell, as it is day, your (rights of the) firstborn to me.

Why did Yaakov endeavor to extract the firstborn from Esau

Likutay Halachos, Laws of Genaiva (theft) 4:8

And Esau got up, and he went, and he derided the firstborn (birthright).

Esau did not kiss the mezuza on the way out – he did not draw the holiness to the outside

Likutay Halachos, Laws of a Sefer Torah 4:27

Because Avrohom listened to my calling etc..

A burning passionate heart for the devotion of Hashem

Koachvay Ohr, Anshay Moharan (the Men of Our Leader Rabbi Nachman) 30-1

And he guarded my safeguards, my commandments (mitzvas), my statutes, and my guidance (Torahs).

Mitzva is an expression of “tzavta” - joining, because every mitzva brings the Divine light together with the vessels – the mind

Likutay Halachos, Laws of Washing Hands in the Morning 4:11

And make for me delicacies the way I like etc. in order that my soul may bless you before I die.

Yitzchok thought that Esau was occupied in hunting and worldliness in order to support Yaakov – those whole study Torah

For this reason Yitzchok wanted to bless Esau with materialistic abundance, so that he can support those who study Torah

Likutay Halachos, Laws of a Guarantor 3:21

Go now/please to the sheep, and take for me from there two choice kid goats etc..

Yaakov humbled the brazenness of the evil realm and merited to holy brazenness

Likutay Halachos, Laws of Meat with Milk 4:9

What is this that you hastened to find my son? And he said, because Hashem your G-d availed before me.

Yitzchok knew that the blessings would ultimately be Yaakov's, however he thought that first they should go to Esau and he would give them to Yaakov

Likutay Halachos, Laws of Gifts 5:44

The One defining moment of your entire life and legacy

HH

The Torah says, "that is why they called him <Esau> Edom" - on account of his choosing the red red lentils at the cost of the rights of being the first-born of Yitzchok. So I'm just writing this down because it is mind boggling how the entire superpower of Edom - gained its name and identity from a few minutes of Esau's life, a little fressing indulgence (-because he was exhausted from murdering and raping etc. etc.).

Almost - on a similar vein Rabbainu berated one of his chief disciples, putting his hand on his heart, and saying for a fleeting pleasure of a quarter of an hour, one is willing to forfeit the future world?! (That was not an exact quote, just as it came to me by memory, look it up inside).

This also reminds of a story, in the conflict that developed between the Chozeh (Seer of) Lublin and the Yid Hakadosh ("The Holy Jew" who was actually a disciple of the Chozeh), there was a certain talmid chuchum that took a side (-I think of the Yid Hakadosh, but don't remember for certain - but I will continue on this assumption) - the Chozeh said, that the Satan had let that talmid chuchum alone for more than 60 years, to learn diligently and pray and his devotions in the service of Hashem - free passage - all so that he could take a more convincing opposition against the Chozeh.... So that was this guys - this big talmid chuchum and oavaid Hashem of 60 years - that was his  defining moment, when he stepped up to bat at a true tzaddik....

May we merit to be defined by the name of the holiest tzaddik Na Nach Nachma Nachman MeUman!

HH pray all the way

HH Aaron Price just wrote on facebook: A chosid said, I was 5 years in Auschwitz and I held out. You know when I fainted? When one morning we were liberated...and it wasn't the Moshiach, but the Russians ! For this I waited 5 years? This I couldn't take...R Shlomo,.....may we all have Moshiach eyes!
The post was deleted so I couldn't share it or comment there, so I present here his words and my comment:
HH Rabbi Nussun writes that the klipa of Esau is not to pray at all, but the klipa of Yishmuel is to pray and suffice with a small salvation... we must keep praying until we merit EVERYTHING, Na Nach Nachma Nachman MeUman!

Precious

HH

Esau sold the rights of the first born for a portion of lentils. The Ramchal explains that the other-side is willing for just a token pleasure of this world to give up almost infinite value of the eternal worth.

Taking that into consideration, figure how each slight comfort a person give up for the sake of attaining some spiritual advantage, how much he is gaining infinitely.
