The Ramchal explained that when the prophets revealed the times of the ends of different exiles, this itself immediately mitigated the exile.
Therefore it can be implied that when giving oneself over to sleep, one sixteeth of death, by establishing a wake up time, this will mitigate even the sleep itself.
