Letter 53
BH, the eve of Rosh Chodesh [first of the
month] Adar, [5]721 (Wednesday – Feb. 5, 1961), Tiberias.
My precious one, Mr. Z. Shazar – who digs tunnels in order to find
the deep waters from which the faith grows, and [then] one is saved from the floodwaters and darkness, which they are the
false beliefs of the hypocrites, and the liars – the fraudulent leaders, and the
apostasies of the sages of nature. Much peace and salvation unto him! Fortunate
is his portion and lot.
A day goes, and a day comes, and we have already advanced in years,
and time runs and flies and it doesn’t pause for even one second; and each and
every day we are going and getting closer to the final day – and if not now,
then when. Givalt brother [Yiddish: Givald
bruder], where in the world are we. How are
we being quiet, and what are we doing in this world. Is God, blessed He, not
with us, and standing over us every second, and He sees our actions; and who wouldn’t
be ashamed, afraid, and in awe from before Him. We have no solution,
consolation, hope, and deliverance – except to flee and run to the True Tzaddik,
the chosen one, [the one] who it’s befitting to believe in Him and to bound and attach oneself
to Him: Who draws and reveals new solutions, wonders of wonders without limit –
that are drawn from the aspect of Messiah, that which it’s impossible to
destroy [/conceal] them in any way, and through them
He reveals the faith in whole for all to
see, and He will return and draw close all the Jewish people to God, blessed He.
And the earth will be full with knowledge to know Hashem, to fulfill the Torah
which was transmitted to our hands from the mouth of Moshe Rabbeinu, peace unto
Him. Fortunate is he who merits to find such a Tzaddik, and to be included within
the holy gathering that is called by His name, and whom go in His ways!
A person needs to very much behold his ways, and to enlarge his
mind and intellect to thoroughly gaze at and ponder all the different events
and matters which God, blessed He, summons and evolves with him every day – in order
to comprehend from them the hints that Hashem is hinting to him with them, to
draw close to Him each time wherever he is, by way of the Tzaddik who endeavors
in his rectification!
God, blessed He, has compassion on us and shines for us the
illumination of the deep and awesome solutions into the depths of the darkness
as well – in order to rescue our souls from destruction. But for this, one
needs great discerning, so that he shouldn’t err from the truth as a result of
the inciters and seducers with their false solutions and made-up things, which
destroy a person from two worlds. And one who desires the absolute truth, he
merits to discern between day and between night – that is, between good
solutions and the opposite!
One needs great merit so that he should manage to settle himself [for the sake of full cognizance] one
hour a day, and so that he should have remorse over what he must have remorse
for; for not every person merits to the settling of the mind [Yishuv ha’daas]. Therefore,
one must be surpassingly steadfast to see to it to be thoroughly contemplative regarding
all of his actions and practices – whether it’s appropriate for him to spend
his days with such acts!
For one to speak with his friend, and to draw him close to the absolute
truth, and they will receive one from another – this occupation is more precious
and important by God, blessed He, than all the services, for this is His
primary honor and greatness – when the most estranged ones draw close to Him,
blessed He!
The main grandeur and delights of God, blessed He, is through
novelties specifically, that is, when a new grandeur ascends on high as the
result of the drawing close of the estranged ones. And all the pride which God,
blessed He, takes pride in the Jewish people, is not comparable against the
light of a new grandeur that ascends on high when one of the estranged ones
draws close anew to Him, blessed He, and he truthfully wishes to serve Him. For
this is His primary greatness and majesticness – when the estranged ones draw
close to Him, because the King doesn’t take pride in the royal apparel that He
already possesses even if they are extremely expensive and significant as much
as He takes pride in new clothes, and a new hue – which ascends on high by way of
someone estranged drawing close to God, blessed He, which this is His main
delights, grandeur, honor, and greatness!
The main completeness of a solution is when it is in the form of, “Wholly
from the seed of truth” (Jeremiah 2:21) – that it should be a complete and clear truth from beginning to
end, not having in it anything crooked or perversive whatsoever.
The main traversing of a person through the pathways of the Torah
is by way of good solutions. But one needs great protection lest his feet
stumble on a stone – so that he shouldn’t be hindered with bad solutions of the
leaders who chase after money, honor, and the other lusts of this world. For most
of their solutions are rotten, and many people have become trapped like birds
that are caught in a snare, God forbid. Because just as the faith grows through
solutions of holiness, so too conversely, by way of bad solutions, God forbid, the
holy faith weakens, and one is drawn after false faiths, apostasy, and heresy,
God forbid.
The Tzaddik subdues and nullifies wisdoms of nature and reveals
that everything acts in accordance with God’s will, and thereby, all sorts of rage,
anger, and contention become nullified, and the aspect of desire, love, and
peace increase in the world.

יקירי, מר ז.שזר,
החותר חתירות למצוא המים עמוקים שמהם גדלה האמונה, וניצולים ממימי המבול והחושך
שהם אמונות כוזביות של הצבועים והשקרנים מנהיגי שקר, והכפירות של חכמי הטבע, שלום
וישע רב! אשרי חלקו וגורלו.
יום הולך ויום
בא, וכבר באנו בימים, והזמן רץ ופורח ואינו עומד אפילו רגע אחת, ובכל יום ויום
הולכים ומתקרבים ליום האחרון, ואם לא עכשיו אימתי, גיוואלד ברודער {אהה, אחי},
היכן אנחנו בעולם. מה אנו שותקים, ומה אנו עושים בזה העולם. הלא ה' יתברך עימנו
ועומד עלינו בכל רגע, ורואה במעשינו, ומי לא יתבייש ולא יירא ויפחוד מפניו. אין
לנו שום עצה ונחמה ותקוה והצלה, רק לנוס ולברוח אל הצדיק האמת המובחר, שראוי
להאמין בו, ולהתדבק ולהתקשר אליו, הממשיך ומגלה עצות חדשות פלאי פלאות בלי גבול,
הנמשכים מבחינת משיח, שאי אפשר לסתרן בשום אופן, שעל ידם מגלה האמונה בשלמות לעין
כל, וישוב ויקרב כל ישראל לה' יתברך, וימלא הארץ דעה לדעת את ה', לקיים את התורה
המסורה בידינו מפי משה רבינו עליו השלום. אשרי הזוכה למצוא צדיק כזה ולהכלל בתוך
הקיבוץ הקדוש הנקראים על שמו והולכים בדרכיו!
צריך האדם להסתכל
מאד על דרכיו, ולהגדיל דעתו ושכלו להסתכל ולהתבונן היטב על כל הסיבות והעניינים
שה' יתברך מזמין לו ומתגלגל עימו בכל יום, להבין מהם הרמזים שה' יתברך מרמז לו
בהם, להתקרב אליו בכל פעם מכל מקום שהוא, על ידי הצדיק המשתדל בתקנתו!
ה' יתברך מרחם
עלינו ומאיר לנו גם בתוך עומק החושך הארת העצות העמוקות הנוראות להציל נפשנו מיני
שחת, אבל צריכים לזה הבחנה גדולה, שלא יטעה מן האמת על ידי המסיתים והמדיחים בעצות
שקרים ובדברים בדויים שלהם, המאבדים את האדם משני עולמות. ומי שחפץ באמת לאמיתו
זוכה להבחין בין יום ובין לילה, דהיינו בין עצות טובות אל ההפך!
צריך לזה זכיה
גדולה שיזכה לישב עצמו שעה אחת ביום, ושיהיה לו חרטה על מה שצריכים להתחרט, כי לאו
כל אדם זוכה לישוב הדעת. על כן צריכים להתגבר מאד לראות לישב עצמו היטב על כל
מעשיו והנהגותיו אם כך ראוי לו לבלות ימיו במעשים כאלה!
לדבר עם חברו
ולקרבו אל האמת לאמיתו, ויקבלו דין מן דין זה העסק יקר וחשוב מאד אצל ה' יתברך
יותר מכל העבודות, כי זה עיקר גדולתו וכבודו יתברך כשהרחוקים ביותר מתקרבים אליו
יתברך!
עיקר ההתפארות
והשעשועים של ה' יתברך הוא על ידי חידושים דייקא, דהיינו כשעולה התפארות חדש למעלה
על ידי התקרבות הרחוקים, וכל ההתפארות שה' יתברך מתפאר בישראל אינו עולה כלל נגד
אור ההתפארות החדש שעולה למעלה כשמתקרב אחד מהרחוקים מחדש אליו יתברך ורוצה לעבדו
באמת. כי זה עיקר גדולתו והתפארותו יתברך כשמתקרבים הרחוקים אליו יתברך, כי אין
המלך מתפאר בלבוש מלכות שיש לו מכבר, אפילו הם יקרים וחשובים מאד, כמו שמתפאר
בלבוש חדש וגון חדש שעולה למעלה על ידי שנתקרב הרחוק לה' יתברך, שזה עיקר שעשועיו
והתפארותו וכבודו וגדלו יתברך!
עיקר שלמות העצה
כשהיא בבחינת "כולה זרע אמת" שתהיה אמת גמור וברור מתחילה ועד סוף, ואין
בה שום נפתל ועיקש כלל.
עיקר הילוך האדם
בדרכי התורה הוא על ידי עצות טובות, אך צריכים שמירה גדולה שלא יגוף באבן רגלו,
שלא יהיה נכשל בעצות רעות של המנהיגים הרודפים אחר הממון וכבוד ושאר תאוות עולם
הזה, כי רוב עצותיהם מקולקלות וכמה אנשים נלכדו בהם כציפורים האחוזות בפח רחמנא
ליצלן. כי כמו שעל ידי עצות דקדושה נתגדלה האמונה, כמו כן להיפך, על ידי עצות רעות
חס ושלום נחלשה האמונה דקדושה, ונמשכים אמונות כוזביות, וכפירות ואפיקורסות רחמנא
ליצלן.
הצדיק מכניע
ומבטל חכמת הטבע ומגלה שהכל מתנהג רק ברצונו יתברך, ועל ידי זה נתבטל כל מיני רוגז
וכעס ומחלוקת, ונתרבה בחינת רצון ואהבה ושלום בעולם.
