Adam the first human found himself alone, he tried mating with every animal breed but quickly saw they were not compatible. Only then when he attained that realization and comprehension, HY hooked him up with Chava.

Today, sadly, it looks like the trend has reversed, less and less people are managing to maintain human relationships, even as they deteriorate seeking companionship with every type of animal, primally cats and dogs.
