243 - There is a tzadik very great, that the world cannot bear his holiness

Know that there is a tzadik who is very great, such that the world cannot bear his holiness. Therefore he hides very much and they do not see any holiness or extra separation [outward signs of piety] from him. This is because of the greatness of his holiness very much. And this is the aspect of all the songs being holy and Song of Songs holy of holies [Yadayim chapter 3 Mishnah classifying biblical books' sanctity]. It is found that Song of Songs is holy very much more than all the books. And behold we found that Solomon the king, peace be upon him, composed three books: Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and Song of Songs. And in truth Proverbs and Ecclesiastes are all full of ethics and fear of heaven very much and we found in them words of holiness and purity many times. But in Song of Songs there are not found words of holiness and purity at all. Go out and see that in the entire book of Song of Songs there is not found there in all the book any words holy and pure. And this is because of the greatness of the essence of its holiness they do not see there any holiness [the highest holiness is concealed, appearing mundane].
