Letter 36
BH, 13th of
Elul [5]720 (Monday – September 5, 1960), Tiberius.
My heart and my
yearning, the pleasant Mr. Z. Shazar – who aspires and blazes to attach and
bind himself in the True Tzaddik, who is the heart of the universe, which in
Him hangs the integral lifeforce and sustaining of the world. May God guide him
on the path of truth and faith, and may He renew upon him and his house a good
and blessed year.
He [third person] must know the stature
of his soul in its root – that his soul is exceedingly lofty and precious, and
he is from the root of the True Son of the King (See
Sipurei Maasiyos: The Exchanged Children), and with ease
he can extirpate from his soul the filth of the aspect of slavery, and return
to his stature through the immense power of the Tzaddik who is the True King
over the Jewish people – which one spark from His Torah will inflame the light
of the truth throughout the world, and it will burn and eradicate all the falsehood
from the world; and there is enough in it to enliven the entire world for generations
of generations. I trust in the loving-kindness of God, that he will surely be
reckoned amongst us on Rosh Hashana, and he will thrust his head inside the holy
gathering of the True Tzaddik who said that His Rosh Hashana is exceedingly,
exceedingly great in the eyes of God, blessed he, [to the extent] that there is
nothing higher than it. And if you have eyes of truth, you should awaken – to flee,
and to fly like an eagle to the light of Rabbeinu, the holy and awesome one,
may his memory be for a blessing; for, behold you see the magnitude of the
loving-kindness and good which God, blessed is He, did with you – that which
you have came within our borders by way of extremely wondrous ways. And through
this in the ultimate end God will rescue, and He will enlighten our eyes how to
return to God, blessed is He, from all that transpires with us. Only, be strong
and courageous with whatever you can, to grab some bit of good every day, and
at every time, and in any place he is. We are oh so fortunate; how good is our
portion, that we have merited to know from this new light, the light of lights,
a shining and brilliant illumination – which isn’t known, and hasn’t been
known, and there is no person who can establish himself in it etc., etc.
Even if the
person fell, God forbid, till no end, there as well God, blessed He, is found –
and He constricts Himself, and He conceals Himself in the ways of His immense wonders,
and He reminds him each time with many, many different hints – wherever place
he is – so that he return to Him.
One must
definitely flee from the sin in the utmost flight. But, after one has already
transgressed what he has transgressed, God forbid, he needs to know and believe
that there is no despair in the world whatsoever. And even if he already wanted
to overcome thousands of times to return in repentance, and he came up
emptyhanded, and he fell to what he fell – and even if he fell to total and severe
sins, God forbid, and he transgressed the whole entire Torah thousands of times
– even so, he still has hope as long as his soul is still inside him. And the
main thing is faith – that he should have complete faith in God, blessed is He,
and he should endeavor with all the strength to draw close to the True Tzaddik,
in order that he merit through Him to complete faith. And he should pour out
his soul [lit. his conversation] before God, blessed He – that He should reveal to him the True
Tzaddik in order that he merit through Him to complete faith. And then he
certainly has hope forever, be it as it may – for the main power to remain
standing in the thick of the battle is through faith, which is the
encompassment and the primary thing of the whole entire Torah!
The transcriber
and the arranger, who supplicates and prays for him constantly, who seeks his
wellbeing, and his success, in this [world] and the coming [world].

ב"ה י"ג אלול תש"כ, טבריא
ליבי וגעגועי מר
ז.שזר הנעים, השואף ולוהט לקשר ולדבק עצמו בהצדיק האמת שהוא הלב של העולם שבו תלוי
עיקר חיות וקיום העולם, ה' ידריכהו בדרך האמת והאמונה, ויחדש עליו ועל ביתו שנה
טובה ומבורכה.
צריך לידע מעלת
נפשו בשרשה, שנפשו גבוהה ויקרה מאד, והוא משורש בן המלך האמת ובקל יכול לבטל מנפשו
הזוהמא של בחינת עבדות, ולחזור למעלתו בגודל כח הצדיק שהוא המלך האמת על ישראל,
אשר ניצוץ אחד מתורתו ילהיב אור האמת בעולם וישרוף ויכלה כל השקר מן העולם, ויש בו
די להחיות כל העולם לדורי דורות. מובטחני בחסדי ה' שבוודאי יהיה נמנה עמנו בראש
השנה, ויתחוב את ראשו בתוך הקיבוץ הקדוש של הצדיק האמת שאמר כי ראש השנה שלו גדול
מאד מאד בעיני ה' יתברך שאין למעלה ממנו. ואם עיני אמת לך, ראוי לך להתעורר לברוח
ולפרוח כנשר אל אור רבינו הקדוש והנורא ז"ל, כי הנך רואה גודל החסד והטוב
שעשה עמך ה' יתברך, אשר באת בגבולנו בדרכים נפלאים מאד, ועל ידי זה סוף כל סוף
יושיע ה' ויאיר עינינו איך לשוב לה' יתברך מכל מה שעובר עלינו. רק חזק ואמץ בכל מה
שתוכל לחטוף איזה מעט טוב בכל יום ובכל עת ובכל מקום שהוא. אשרינו מה טוב חלקנו
שזכינו לידע מאור החדש הזה אור האורות אור צח ומצוחצח דלא ידיע ולא אתידע, ולא אית
מאן דקימא ביה וכו' וכו'.
אפילו אם נפל
האדם חס ושלום עד אין תכלית, גם שם ה' יתברך נמצא ומצמצם את עצמו ומסתיר את עצמו
בדרכי נפלאותיו העצומים, ומזכיר אותו בכל פעם בכמה וכמה רמזים שונים בכל מקום שהוא
כדי שישוב אליו.
בוודאי צריכים
להיות בורח מן העברה בתכלית הבריחה, אך אחרי שכבר עבר מה שעבר חס ושלום, צריך לידע
ולהאמין שאין שום יאוש בעולם כלל. ואפילו אם כבר רצה להתגבר אלפים פעמים לחזור
בתשובה, ולא עלתה בידו ונפל למה שנפל, ואפילו אם נפל לעברות גמורות וחמורות חס
ושלום ועבר על כל התורה כולה אלפים פעמים, אף על פי כן עדיין יש לו תקוה כל עוד
נשמתו בו. והעיקר הוא אמונה, שיהיה לו אמונה שלמה בה' יתברך, וישתדל בכל עוז
להתקרב לצדיק האמת, וישפוך שיחו לפני ה' יתברך שיגלה לו הצדיק האמת כדי שיזכה על
ידו לאמונה שלמה ואז בוודאי יש לו תקוה לעולם, יהיה איך שיהיה. כי עיקר הכוח לעמוד
בקשרי המלחמה הוא על ידי אמונה שהיא כלל ועיקר כל התורה כולה!
המעתיק והמסדר,
המעתיר ומתפלל עליו תמיד, דורש שלומו וישועתו והצלחתו בזה ובבא.
