 Letter 90

 

BH. 28 Sivan [5]724 (Monday – June 8, 1964).

 

In honor of the president of Israel, the blissfulness of my life, Mr. S. Z. Shazar – that who God has uplifted and elevated him to the heavens above in order to merit him to the utmost level of which there is nothing higher than it – that he should raise, magnify, and reinforce the Name of the Tzaddik, the True King who will conquer the whole world without any war – only by way of the wisdom He reveals with His quill [pen], through which He reveals and shines His divinity, blessed He, before the eyes of all those who traverse the world, until all the estranged ones and the nations of the world will come and convert and they will accept the yoke of His dominion to serve Him with one accord. Peace and all the best.

 

Now that your eyes see the deeds of the great and awesome God – [in] that He has performed with you great and awesome things to the extent of immeasurability: You have merited to hear, understand, and taste such words of truth that are so hidden and sequestered from the eyes of the world – it would be profane of you to cease from making known and publicizing the truthfulness of the True Tzaddik to all the Sons of Israel with loud cries until the heart of the heavens; [and] to inflame and heat their hearts with the burning of His holy fire, until all will recognize and know the wondrousness [and] might of his power and the forcefulness and splendidness of the Tzaddik, the True Sage who is the main source and root of their lifeforce and hope and redemption for generations of generations for eternity!

 

Know my brother, that the Tzaddik doesn’t need the world for Himself whatsoever, for on the contrary, all the effluence of bounty and all the wealth are from Him; and therefore, whatever one gives Him [with this itself] he is receiving from Him thousands of thousands and myriads of myriads more, in this world and the World to Come. Therefore, so too one who expends effort with his body in order to serve and draw close to Him - this is also called charity, for the Tzaddik exceedingly arises and becomes greater through the awakening of the Jewish people who are expending effort in order to draw close to Him, and it is accounted to them [for] charity!

 

However much a person ages, [accordingly] it is necessary that a higher Daas [realization of knowledge or perspicacity] be added upon him, for however much more he ages he needs to draw closer to his root and rectification which is the attainment of the high wisdom, through which one comes to the conception of Divinity which is the root of everything.

 

The primary name Talmid Chocham [student of a sage] is one who is close to the True Sage and Tzaddik, for he is the student of the True Sage and Tzaddik. And conversely, one who isn’t close to the True Sage and Tzaddik – he is included in Am Ha’aretz [lit. people of the land]; because he doesn’t possess the power to accept wisdom which is conception of Divinity – even if he is an intellectual, wise, and even if he has good deeds. For it’s impossible to come to the eternal purpose, which is conception of the Divine, except by way of the True Tzaddik and His students, and the students of His students etc.

לכבוד נשיא ישראל, נעימת חיותי מר ש.ז.שזר אשר נשאו ה' והעלהו לשמי מרום כדי לזכותו לתכלית המעלה הרמה שאין למעלה הימנה, שינשא ויגדיל ויאדיר את שם הצדיק המלך האמת, שיכבוש כל העולם בלי מלחמה כלל, רק על ידי החכמה שמגלה בקולמוס שלו, שעל ידי זה הוא מגלה ומאיר אלקותו יתברך לעיני כל באי עולם עד שכל הרחוקים ואומות העולם יבואו ויתגיירו ויקבלו עול מלכותו לעבדו שכם אחד, שלום וכל טוב

אחרי אשר עיניך רואות את מעשי ה' הגדול והנורא אשר עשה עימך גדולות ונוראות לאין שיעור, זכית לשמוע ולהבין ולטעום דברי אמת כאלה הגנוזים וצפונים כל כך מעיני העולם, חלילה לך מחדול מלהודיע ולפרסם בקולי קולות עד לב השמים אמיתת הצדיק האמת לכל בני ישראל, להלהיב ולחמם לבבם בתבערת אש הקודש שלו, עד שכולם יכירו וידעו נפלאות גבורת כוחו ותקפו ותפארתו של הצדיק החכם האמת שהוא עיקר מקור ושורש חיותם ותקותם וגואלם לדורי דורות לנצח!

דע אחי, כי הצדיק אינו צריך כלל להעולם בשביל עצמו, כי אדרבא ממנו כל ההשפעות וכל העשירות, ועל כן כל מה שנותנים לו מקבלין ממנו אלפי אלפים ורבי רבבות יותר בעולם הזה ובעולם הבא. ועל כן גם כל מי שטורח בגופו לשמשו ולהתקרב אליו גם זה נקרא צדקה, כי הצדיק נתעלה ומתגדל מאד על ידי התעוררות של ישראל הטורחים להתקרב אליו ונחשב להם צדקה!

האדם כל מה שמזקין צריך שיתוסף עליו דעת גבוה יותר, כי כל מה שמזקין יותר הוא צריך להתקרב לשורשו ותיקונו יותר שהוא השגת החכמה הגבוה שעל ידה באים להשגת אלוקות שהיא שורש הכל.

עיקר שם תלמיד חכם הוא מי שמקורב להחכם והצדיק האמת, כי הוא תלמיד של החכם והצדיק האמת. ולהיפך מי שאינו מקורב להחכם והצדיק האמת הוא בכלל עם הארץ, כי אין לו כוח לקבל חכמה שהוא השגת אלוקות, אפילו אם הוא למדן וחכם ואפילו אם יש לו מעשים טובים. כי אל התכלית הנצחי שהוא השגת אלוקות אי אפשר לבוא כי אם על ידי הצדיק האמת ותלמידיו ותלמידי תלמידיו וכו'.
