Letter 113

Baruch Hashem. 6 Iyar, [5]727 (Tuesday – May 16, 1967).

In honor of the president of Israel, my heart and flesh, Mr. Z’ Shazar – who tunnels and digs in order to reveal the living waters which enliven dead bodies such as us today in these generations, in which we have descended to the utmost, utmost descent. And they are futured to become revealed in completeness by way of King Messiah, who through the magnitude [and] forcefulness of His awesome righteousness and wisdom will reveal and make known to the whole world the secret [of the] awesomeness of the True Tzaddik – and through Him, He will rectify the world.

Blessing, life, and peace.

It is [incumbent] upon us to rejoice, be happy, sing, make melody, hymn, give thanks, extol, and give praise to the Master of the Universe over [Israeli] Independence Day, a day of great and awesome miracles and wonders which God has performed with us – we will jubilate and rejoice in it each and every year, and every day and hour – and over the miracles, salvations, and the wondrous, mighty acts He performs with us before the eyes of all the nations from the time we merited through the salvation of God to conquer our portion and inheritance from the hands of the robbers, the wild asses. And all the more so, that which his honorable exalted personage feels, knows, and sees all the time open miracles beyond the parameters of nature – but as of now they are still covered and enclothed in the way of nature. The Merciful One shall finish our redemption – a complete redemption, and He shall return to us the Holy Temple, the Temple of our Life, the Temple of our Beautifulness speedily in our days, Amen. And they will be amazed, and all the non-Jews will say, “It is God who has wrought greatly with the Jews, the holy nation, the chosen nation, in the chosen land”.

My love, heart and soul are extremely, extremely faithful to you, and my eyes flow with tears in my prayer and entreaty before God that He should make you successful in this path that you are going therein. In each and every country, and in each and every place that you go and tread with the soles of your feet there, God should give you charm and good understanding in the eyes of all the nations and officials for the benefit of our nation and land – which this alone is your whole essential goal, desire, and intention in your journey, going, moving, and your hard work. May God guard your going out, and your coming in for life, happiness, and peace, forever.

When you depart for the road, do not forget to take with you the storehouse and the good gift that God has given you with His great mercy; behold, this is the small and old book, ‘Kitzur Likutei Moharan’ [The Abridged Likutei Moharan] from the year [5]595 (1834 or 1835), as is your good custom, constantly. It will certainly shield over you on the way, and it will draw and enlighten upon you the light of holiness of the faith in His Oneness and Unity, blessed He, and in His individualistic Divine Providence – which all of this is included in each and every word written there. Fortunate are we, fortunate is our pleasant portion, in that we have merited to know a bit from the greatness of the True Tzaddik. He will ease [/relieve] us of the anguish [toil] of our deeds (See Genesis 5:29), He is our lifeforce, He is our consolation and hope. Fortunate are we, fortunate are we thousands of times over every single word that we merit to receive from Him.

Your faithful lover and servant who serves you constantly with all [his] heart and soul, and [who] anticipates and yearns: When will the time come that I will merit to see you all the time sated with joy, and to give you good and eternal presents that are stored away in the storehouse of the Gushing Stream:

עלינו לשוש ולשמוח לשיר לרנן ולזמר להודות ולהלל ולשבח לאדון עולם על יום העצמאות יום הנסים ונפלאות גדולות ונוראות אשר עשה ה" עמנו. נגילה ונשמחה בו בכל שנה ושנה ובכל יום ובכל שעה, ועל הנסים ועל התשועות ועל הגבורות הנוראות שעושה עמנו לעיני כל העמים מעת שזכינו בישועת ה" לכבוש חלקינו ונחלתינו מידי הגזלנים הפראים. וביותר מה שכבוד מעלתו הרם מרגיש ויודע ורואה בכל פעם נסים נגלים למעלה מגדר הטבע, אך לעת עתה הם עדיין מכוסים ומלובשים בדרך הטבע. הרחמן הוא יגמור גאולתינו גאולה שלימה ויחזיר לנו בית המקדש בית חיינו בית תפארתינו במהרה בימינו אמן ויתפלאו ויאמרו כל הגוים הגדיל ה" לעשות עם היהודים עם הקדוש עם הנבחר בארץ הנבחר.

אהבתי ולבי ונפשי נאמנו לך במאוד מאוד, ועיני תזולנה דמעות בתפילתי ובקשתי לפני ה" שיצליחך בדרך הזה שאתה הולך בו. בכל מדינה ומדינה ובכל מקום ומקום אשר תלך ותדרוך כף רגלך שם יתן לך ה" חן ושכל טוב בעיני כל העמים והשרים לטובת עמינו וארצנו אשר רק זה כל עיקר מגמתך ורצונך וכוונתך בנסיעתך והלוכך וטלטולך ועבודתך הקשה. ה" ישמור צאתך ובואך לחיים ולשמחה ולשלום עד עולם.

בצאתך לדרך אל תשכח לקחת אתך האוצר והמתנה טובה אשר נתן לך ה" ברוב רחמיו, הלוא הוא הספר הקטן והישן קיצור לקוטי מוהר"ן משנת תקצ"ה כמנהגך הטוב תמיד, הוא בודאי יגין עליך בדרך וימשיך ויאיר עליך אור קדושת האמונה ביחידו ואחדותו יתברך ובהשגחתו הפרטיות שכל זה כלול בכל דיבור ודיבור הכתוב שם. אשרינו אשרי חלקינו הנעים שזכינו לידע קצת מגדולת הצדיק האמת הוא ינחמינו מעצבון מעשינו הוא חיותינו הוא נחמתינו ותקוותינו אשרינו אשרינו אלפים פעמים על כל דיבור שאנו זוכים לקבל ממנו.

אוהבך ועבדך הנאמן המשרתך תמיד בכל לב ונפש ומצפה ומתגעגע מתי יגיע העת שאזכה לראותך בכל פעם בשובע שמחות ולתת לך מתנות טובות ונצחיות הגנוזות באוצר הנחל נובע.
