Baruch
Hashem. 7 Nissan, [5]732 (Wednesday – March 22, 1972), Jerusalem.
In honor of the president of Israel,
the crown of my head, and he has crowned his head with the crown of truth, Mr.
S. Z. Shazar – which God has chosen in him from all the Jewish people, and He
has aroused his spirit and inflamed his heart like a flaming fire in order to spark
and ignite the heart of the Jewish people to the Gushing Stream – which all the
Jewish people will become rectified in completeness, and they will all flip to
God, blessed He – even the most alienated ones – through the magnitude of His power,
[and] they will know God and they will
give God the Crown of Sovereignty. Blessing, peace, and life to no end.
All the days of my life will not suffice
to sing, make melody, and extol to God over the magnitude of His awesome
loving-kindness and wonders He performed with me – in that He has given me true
charm, true love, and great compassion in his [Shazar’s] warm and pleasant heart to stand at my assistance and to fight a strong
war for me at a personal risk, with the Member of the Knesset, M. Porush. Until
God helped him defeat and subdue him so that there should be for me a holy
abode to serve therein the holy service, Torah, prayer, hisbodedus, and
conversation between me and my Creator etc. And now, after all this awesome good
and loving-kindness that you have done with me, I will rejoice and exult to
apprise you good news and good fortune from the exceedingly new and wondrous salvation
which was born to us in Tiberias on the night of Purim before the reading of
the Megillah [Scroll of Esther]. For the chief rabbi of Tiberias, Chacham Meir Vaknin fulfilled
his [=Shazar – third person] request and
will in completeness and with a happy heart. He invited me to his house and honored
me exceptionally, and he said to me, “Know that I am giving you a present for
all the days of your life – the most pleasant and beautiful room on the third
floor, in the new building of the Yeshiva on the tomb of the Tana, Rabbi Meir
Baal Haneis; also, a bed, a new mattress, and a bookcase. And he blessed the
honorable president – may his glory be exalted – with great arousal and
enthusiasm over him meriting him with such good; and he said quakingly the
verse (Psalms 144:15), “Fortunate is
the nation that has it so” – that they have a president [who is] such a man of loving-kindness, one
who possesses such a pleasant and kind soul.
Who can relate and explain the immense
vastness of the value of this noble and delightful Mitzva [good deed], through which the honor of God has
grown and become esteemed; and awesome delights [playful,
gratifying] and great satisfaction have been
made from it for God, blessed He in all the worlds. Were you not to come to the
world except for this, it’s enough. This wondrous matter has become known and
famous, and it has made a great commotion throughout the whole city of
Tiberias; and everyone is amazed and blessing the honorable president – may his
glory be exalted – with all [their] heart.
Just now the donation of his good
heart has reached my hands – the sum of one-hundred Israeli Liras, and it was
for me great satisfaction and happiness. Much thunderous acclaim of charm, oh
charm, and much thanks and blessings from the depth of my heart for this
loving-kindness, and for all the good and the multitude of loving-kindnesses he
bestows upon me with all his strength every time and all the time. God shall
repay [for] his good act, and He should draw
upon him and his household salvation, compassion, peace, and the good and long
life of the exceedingly holy and awesome Beggars. If you would know just a bit how much, oh how
much you have enlivened me with these holy houses which you have toiled and taken
pains over them so much so in order that I should be able to serve God in
truth, wholeheartedly – certainly you would be jubilant and strong to run with
all your might to the True Leader, Gushing Stream, which He is Moses Messiah
who engages now as well to elevate us even from apostasy [shmad] to desire [ratzon].
And God, blessed He, shall give you a kosher and joyful Passover,
and we will rejoice and exult in it.
His faithful servant and lover [of] who is bound constantly in my mind and heart,
and who prays for his wellbeing and salvation in this [world] and the next:

לכבוד נשיא ישראל
עטרת ראשי ועטרת האמת עטר לראשו מר ש.ז.שזר אשר בו בחר ה" מכל ישראל והעיר את
רוחו והבעיר את לבבו כאש בוערת להבעיר ולהדליק לב ישראל אל הנחל נובע אשר בגודל
כחו כל ישראל יתתקנו בשלימות ויתהפכו כולם להש"ית אפילו הרחוקים לגמרי ידעו
את ה" ויתנו לו כתר מלוכה. ברכה ושלום וחיים אין קץ.
כל ימי חיי לא
יספיקו לרננן ולזמר ולהלל לה" על גודל נוראות חסדו ונפלאותיו שעשה עמדי, אשר
נתן לי חן אמת ואהבת אמת ורחמים גדולים בלבו החם והנעים לעמוד בעזרי וללחום בעדי
בחירוף נפש מלחמה חזקה עם חבר הכנסת מ" פרוש. עד שעזרו ה" לנצחו
ולהכניעו שיהיה לי מקום מקדש לעבוד בו עבודת הקודש תורה ותפלה והתבודדות ושיחה
ביני לבין קוני וכו'. ועתה אחרי כל הטוב והחסד הנורא הזה אשר עשית עמדי, אשמחה
ואעלצה לבשרך בשורה טובה ומזל טוב מהישועה החדשה והפליאה מאד שנולדה לנו בטבריא
בליל פורים לפני קריאת המגילה, כי הרב הראשי מטבריא חכם מאיר וועקנין עשה בקשתו
ורצונו בשלימות ובלב שמח, הוא הזמין אותי לביתו וכיבד אותי ביותר, ואמר לי דע שאני
נותן לך מתנה לכל ימי חייך חדר הכי נאה ויפה בקומה ג" בבנין החדש של הישיבה
על ציון התנא רמבע"הנ, גם מטה ומזרון חדש וארון ספרים, והוא ברך את כבוד
הנשיא יר"ה בהתעוררות והתלהבות גדול על שזיכה אותו בטוב כזה ואמר ברתת הפסוק
"אשרי העם שככה לו" שיש להם נשיא איש חסד כזה בעל נשמה נעימה וחסידה
כזאת.
מי יוכל למלל
ולבאר גודל הפלגת ערך מצוה אצילה ונחמדה זו שעל ידה נתגדל ונתייקר כבוד ה"
ונעשה ממנה שעשועים נוראים ונחת גדול להשי"ת בכל העולמות. אלמלא לא באת לעלמא
אלא בשביל זה די. הדבר הפלא הזה נתוודע ונתפרסם ועשה רעש גדול בכל העיר טבריא,
וכולם מפליאים ומברכים את כבוד הנשיא יר"ה בכל לב
זה עכשיו הגיע
לידי תרומת לבו הטוב הסך מאה לירות ישראליות והיה לי לנחת ושמחה גדולה תשואת חן חן
הרבה ורב תודות וברכות מעומקא דלבאי על החסד הזה ועל כל הטובות והחסדים הרבים
הגומל עמי בכל כחו בכל פעם בכל עת ישלם ה" פעלו הטוב וימשיך עליו ועל ביתו
ישועה ורחמים ושלום וחיים טובים ארוכים של הבעטלירס הקדושים ונוראים מאד. אם היית
יודע מעט מזעיר כמה וכמה החיית אותי עם הבתים הקדושים האלו אשר יגעת וטרחת עליהם
כל כך כדי שאוכל לעבוד ה" באמת בלב שלם, בוודאי היית שמח וחזק לרוץ בכל כחך
אל המנהיג האמת נחל נובע שהוא משה משיח שעוסק גם עכשיו להעלותינו אפילו משמד לרצון.

לכם פסח כשר ושמח ונגילה ונשמחה בו.
