Today the most universal way - among the Torah observant Jews - of referring to G-d, is "Hashem". The Ramchal already points out that one should meditate strongly on how Hashem is the same letters as Moshe. Rabbainu revealed that all the exiles are because of lack of daas (realization of knowledge), and daas is the true tzadik, the aspect of Moshe, who is the collective daas of Israel. Thus we see that the Jews are on the path of rectifying this huge defection, which was most apparent by Korach who outright denied the supremacy of Moshe, but had bitter residue and ripples throughout all of Israel throughout the ages, and by referring to G-d as His Name - Hashem, in the letters of His true tzadik Moshe, slowly Israel rectifies itself, and fully acknowledges the critical role of the true tzadik Moshe.
