HH Rabbainu said that now we have to call the yetehr hurah (evil inclination) something else, that it "dimyoan" (imagination/fantasy), at that moment the root of the modern day acquittal of pleading insanity was planted. Previously there was no such thing, someone who committed a crime especially an atrocity would be summarily executed, all of the sudden today we are making differentiations - that is what Rabbainu introduced.
Many if not most of the rabbis today, I think it would be rash to simply call them evil, Rabbainu revealed that they have an enormous inclination to rule, they almost don't have a choice in the matter, in other words they are deluded to the extent that they would be sooner sentenced to a crazy ward than being convicted of purely evil intent.
What are they even thinking, putting their stomachs into the equation? When we have true tzaddikim, especially Na Nach Nachma Nachman Me'Uman who transcended any paradigm familiar to us, we have absolutely no inkling of an idea of their greatness, what they achieved, what they comprehended, what they revealed, the suffering they endured continuously, etc. etc.... And then along comes some bright rabbi and takes the masses under his delusions...
These rabbis are not just the cause of the exile, they are the exile! The exile of the daas (holy realization of knowledge).
Na Nach Nachma Nachman Me'Uman
