NOT PERMITTED TO WORK!

HH

Before I knew about Nanach I was very anti zionist, I was very anti a lot of things [interestingly enough when someone asked R' Shlomo Carlbach what would have happened if had remained in the Yeshiva system, he replied that he would probably have become a big Rosh Yeshiva in Bnay Brak, authoring many books on the Talmud, and very anti, anti this, anti that, anti the other etc.. That's exactly where I was heading, except that I had already left the falsehood of the system, so I was like a lone wolf very lost], but particularly anti tzioanee. Even still HY had mercy on me and I has the good sense of living in Israel. So for years I lived in Israel not acknowledging the government an iota. Even after the holy Petek saved me, and all the anti got swallowed into one humongous PRO Nanach, I felt better off, and still do, not dealing with them whatsoever. Even still, this year for the first time I finally succumbed to the pressure and I actually obtained a real official visa to be in Israel, fancy that. Now here I really have to hand it to them, prominently on the visa - which is in my passport - there is a declaration:

NOT PERMITTED TO WORK

Wow that is impressive - they got that right!!!! B"H may we merit to be completely abnegated to the tzadik Na Nach Nachma Nachamn MeUman who is the aspect of Shabos when no work is permitted!

Shlomo Carlbach

HH It is now the hillula of Shlomo Carlbach, someone just told me today that when R' Shlomo met Saba (they met in Manhattan and spoke privately for some time) he wanted to drop everything and follow Saba, but there was some discord among the chevra hanging out by Saba - I still don't know the details, somehow particularly affecting R' Shlomo personally, and he backed off. Even still B"H he merited to be in Uman, and to sing the holy Petek of Na Nach Nachma Nachman MeUman!

Broken Vessels - Vessels for the Infinite

HH

Shlomo Carlbach used to say that really poor people talk about coming into millions and millions of dollars and huge riches, they can just see it coming, whereas people that have some sort of livelihood have much more modest dreams and aspirations. When a person has a vessel it can only hold what it was designed for, but when a person is broken, he has vessels for the infinite.

In these days of mourning of the holy temple, of the holy tzaddikim, of our own lost holiness which we ourselves should be like the temple, if we can merit to be a little broken hearted, we can merit to vessels of the Infinite. B"H.

HH pray all the way

HH Aaron Price just wrote on facebook: A chosid said, I was 5 years in Auschwitz and I held out. You know when I fainted? When one morning we were liberated...and it wasn't the Moshiach, but the Russians ! For this I waited 5 years? This I couldn't take...R Shlomo,.....may we all have Moshiach eyes!
The post was deleted so I couldn't share it or comment there, so I present here his words and my comment:
HH Rabbi Nussun writes that the klipa of Esau is not to pray at all, but the klipa of Yishmuel is to pray and suffice with a small salvation... we must keep praying until we merit EVERYTHING, Na Nach Nachma Nachman MeUman!

Love lost in sin

HH

Rabbi Nussun writes in Likutay Halachos, and R' Shlomo Carlbach says this over beautifully - it is classic Shlomo Torah, that the main achievement of Yosef's not falling to the temptations of the wife of Poteefar, was that had he sinned he would not have been able to hold strong in his love for his brothers. For such is the nature of sin, it causes one to see bad in others and resent them. Yosef, by staying strong in his holiness, not succumbing to his bodily desires and enticement of the wife of Potifar, was thus able to retain a strong grip on his love for his brothers.

This is one of the most profound Torah's I've ever heard, awesome beyond words.

Freedom of Nanach

HH
Just saw an article which claims that marijuana was first delivered throughout America as an aid to pacify the slaves. Think about it, the slaves were supposedly freed, and now with more and more people taking pot, everyone are becoming passive slaves.

Saba said the pot is worse than niuf (promisuity). It is the antithesis of the tzaddik, for the Tzadik is the daas (realization of knowledge) of the humanity, and drugs abscond daas.

Shlomo Carlbach tells over that when he opened up the House of Love and Prayer in San Francisco people thought that it must be a drug haven, and on Pesach someone came in looking for drugs and he found a hippy sitting on the floor eating Matza. The guy asked, "hey brother, where are the goods?!" So the hippy held up a piece of matza and said -- get into matza - it doesn't get better than that.

Matza is the nourishment of daas. Deferment the brain from all the fungus and levenation  (levitation?) of the dimyon (imagination, fantasy, conjecture), and achieve true realization with freedom of the mind from all the constraints (mitrayim -- borders). First you might have to go through a dessert, but it will be with clarity and you will reach the holy land.

R' Shlomo Carlbach till Nanach

HH

Anyone looking at history, tracing the path of true faith and devotion of the One Merciful G-d, from our Forefathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to Moses and David, to Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai, to the Arizal, to the Baal Shem Tov, to Rabbainu Na Nach Nachma Nachman MeUman and his main disciple R' Nuttun, to R' Moshe Breslevor, to R' Yisroel Karduner, to Saba Yisroel, will seemingly chance upon a period of almost 30 years where R' Shlomo Carlbach pops up and steals the show. Although R' Shlomo attributed his career to Rabbainu and taught and spread many of the ideas of Rabbi Nuttun, he did not fully abnegate himself to Breslov, so it is strange to see him dominate the role of forging a model for true devotion. What I think was going on was what R' Shlomo said of that period, especially of the hippies, it was alot of light without vessels. Where was all this light coming from? People are quick to attribute it to the 6 million and the Jewish settlement of the Holy Land, but that isn't a sufficient source, because HY runs the world with people -- tzaddikim, not just auras and spirits.
If you take a look at what was going on in Breslov in these years you will find the source of this great light. For example reading the diary -- autobiography of R' Shmuel Horowitz - Yimay Shmuel, one sees how much passion and yearning he had for G-d, sometimes lying awake the entire night not able to sleep, just completely burning with yearning for holiness. There were only a few Breslovers around, and they were very limited, but their devotions were super exemplary, they had friendship and love between them almost unparalleled in history. They served G-d from dire poverty and persecution and contempt of  the communities they lived in. All this is just a taste of what it was, and so it should be obvious now that here we have a source of huge holiness and light being brought down into the world. The light wasn't being so much building in their native surroundings, where G-d chose to have them remain in constricting circumstances, so all over the world huge spiritual awakening and revolutions were shining into the populace.
In these years our super tzadik, Saba Yisroel Dov Odesser kept himself very hidden, and there is no doubt that his devotions were flooding the world encouraging spiritual revival.
Those that were completely faithful to Rabbainu guarded themselves from deviating even an iota from the teachings and methodology of Breslov. The tradition had to be 100% pure.
It was in this arena R' Shlomo found himself, and tried to bridge the gap. Although he acknowledged Rabbainu's place at the forefront of all spiritual direction, he did not know how to go all the way with Rabbainu,  so he found place for presenting many different rabbis. In the Stories of Ancient Times which Rabbainu revealed, he revealed a concept of temporary leaders who accepted their terms of leadership to be void upon the appearance of someone more suitable. This is what R' Shlomo said of himself. However, later in Breslov circles, rabbis would spring up announcing themselves as spiritual guides who weren't very interested at all in giving up their little power-centers.

Uman

BH
we had here at the holy tomb Michael of Moshav Modiin (Shlomo Carlbach) with his youngest son of his triplets B"H.

This morning before singing the morning song (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3H9_syHWkus), I almost didn't, because it is hard for me to stand (due to my left foot...), and the mss S.K. was here who has threatened to kill me.... B"H these impediments didn't stop me. Then in middle of my singing one of the visitors -- a beardless fellow who comes on occasion, grasped my arm strongly and warned me not to scream (he knew what was coming), b"H this didn't stop me from giving the song the full strength it deserved, so this fellow approached me to through his hot coffee on me, but B"H he first asked the people around for their ok, and they said no, and thus I was spared.
