Rabbi Nussun is not buried in Uman near Rabbainu. 

Rabbainu went to Uman which was the seat of the heretical maskilim - enlightened Jews who swore never to mention G-d lest they might have a moment of guilty conscious. When Rabbi Levi Yitzchok of Berdichev, who only saw the good in Jews, came to Uman and tried to be the rabbi there, he couldn't even look them in the face, and they mocked him and laughed him out of town. Rabbainu reversed the tables on them, this is explained at length elsewhere. Rabbi Nussun said he had no conception of these ways of Rabbainu. Rabbi Nussun himself refrained and distanced himself from the maskilim, except for one whom Rabbainu told him explicitly to befriend, and even that was limited. [The heir to these esoteric and phenomenal ways of Rabbainu was Saba Yisroel, as explained at length elsewhere].

Rabbi Nussun is the primary disciple of Rabbainu, without him we wouldn't have very much from Rabbainu, and Rabbi Nussun grounds Rabbainu into the practical existence in this world, in the ways of the Torah. So he is the mainstay of the chasidus of Breslov. So he is buried in Breslov.

Rabbi Nachman cannot be limited or condensed, besides for the fact that he constantly rises from level to level, he operates and exists in ways unknown and unfathomable. Anyone who learns his teachings can feel that, even as Rabbi Nussun grounds the lessons. So Rabbainu is in Uman, where he showed his power, and B"H soon will come to Israel.

To the honorable, my friend and my pal from way back, Yitzchok Meir n”y (may his light shine) Korman.

Your letter sent to me with R’ Avrohom Sofer, I received, and what you write that the suppression of your writing to me is due to my short response to the questions asked of me, the answer to this I wrote last week in (his/) a letter to our friend Yitzchok Breiter, because he also wrote to me that the suppression of his writing is because of that mentioned above. And even still I will write to you as well, a little of what I wrote to our aforementioned friend Yitzchok, because really, if you look well properly at my short responses, you will find in them much more reasoning than can be found in the long responses from the rest of the men of our persuasion (“anash”) who write at great length, because the medrash (-exposition) is not the main thing,

However, I know our fellows (“anash”) of Poland, that they love letters with abundant homilies (“drushoas”), and they desire to be written to them of great supernal “hasagoas” (spiritual conceptions), and they do not look at themselves if they find in the letters with the expositions and conceptions mentioned above, simple true information to know how to actually and practically behave, both, when it is good and when in distress, both, in matters of the world and in matters of Heaven, both, in ascent and in descent, this being the main intent of all the homilies and of all the conceptions.

And I can’t stand the aforementioned way, to write and speak of great and wondrous conceptions, rather to speak of timeemoos (unsophisticated wholesomeness) and simplicity, which (there) are included all that is needed for every person on every level and in every time, and so it is understood and explained in all the books of Adumor (-acronym for, Our Master and Our Teacher and our Rabbi – Na Nach Nachma Nachman MayUman) o.b.m. to all those who look in them with a true eye and with abnegation of his own intellect, and this is the intended gist of Adumor (-Our Master and Our Teacher and our Rabbi – Na Nach Nachma Nachman MayUman) o.b.m., because the main thing is practical application for every person.

And regarding the keebootz (-get together) that you write to me that they are drawing close from the whole country Poland to one place for Rosh Hashana, and they are conducting all the good practices like in Uman for Rosh Hashana, certainly this is a very precious thing, however, this matter also has an enormous danger that there shouldn’t sprout from this Heaven forbid any sort of appointment to any person of the keebootz (-gathering), which is worse than everything, and every single one of the keebootz needs to be extremely wary of this, that he/there shouldn’t be a catalyst for this Heaven forbid, and that he shouldn’t have a part in this – with any false humility… because until the coming of our Messiah it is forbidden to accept upon oneself any appointment or leadership of any person, even if he is of our fellowship (“anash”), just the holy view of Adumor (-Our Master and Our Teacher and our Rabbi – Na Nach Nachma Nachman MayUman) o.b.m. hiddenly cached in his holy books, he is the head and the leader of all who desire to draw close to the truth.

And certainly, someone who is more proficient in the essence of the intention of Adumor (-Our Master and Our Teacher and our Rabbi – Na Nach Nachma Nachman MayUman) o.b.m., Hashem Yisburach has merited him with extra strength to explain his (-the) words of Adumor (-Our Master and Our Teacher and our Rabbi – Na Nach Nachma Nachman MayUman) o.b.m., and to arouse with this whoever listens to his words to draw close to the truth, certainly it is necessary to receive more/phenomenally from him, but all in the way of a friend and pal, not in the way of a head and leader Heaven forbid.

And regarding your wife who needs healing, without promising, when I merit to be on the holy tzion (-tomb, of Rabbainu Na Nach Nachma Nachman MayUman) I will mention her for favor, may Hashem Yisburach send her a complete healing amongst all the rest of the sick of Israel, and with this I will end my words.

ומעניין הקיבוץ שאתה כותב לי שמתקרבים מכל מדינת פולין למקום אחד על ר"ה ומתנהגים בכל העובדות טובות כמו באומין על ר"ה בוודאי זה דבר יקר מאד, אבל יש בענין זה ג"כ סכנה גדולה שלא יצמח מזה ח"ו איזה התמנות לאיזה איש מהקיבוץ אשר זה גרוע מהכל וכל אחד מהקיבוץ צריך ליזהר בזה מאד שלא יהיו גורם לזה ח"ו ושלא יהי' לו חלק בזה באיזה ענווה פסולה... כי עד ביאת משיחנו אסור לקבל על עצמו שום התמנות ומנהיגות של שום אדם אפילו אם הוא מאנ"ש רק דעתו הקדושה של אדומו"ר ז"ל הגנוז בספריו הקדושים הוא הראש והמנהיג, של כל מי שרוצה להתקרב אל האמת.

HH Rabbi Nachman's birth already set the stage for the modern era, e.g. a mere few years after he was born in 1772, America declared independence. Many of his teachings speak more directly to the man of our present time and society than to the shtetel (small town) Jews who were his followers. E.g. Rabbi Nachman revealed that everyone has an aspect of monarchy even if it is only over his family, or on a subliminal paradigm, this teaching was readily understood by his followers, but it was somewhat theoretical being that they were so destitute they could barely have seen real manifestation of this principle. Today, even the less well off, can clearly see how they wield various privileges and amenities that would have been special even for a monarch of those times. With the changing times, also came changing attitudes, social climate, and personal truths, convictions, ideas, and prerogatives. Rabbi Nachman had to prepare the world for this transition, and he did so by revealing the highest and deepest teachings which are the root of everything that plays out in the world. Anyone that looks at a lesson from Rabbi Nachman will see reflections of what is going on that very moment in his own life. Yet, even still, Rabbi Nachman saw that his followers were not adjusting properly and sufficiently. He saw their struggles and how they grappled with forces far superior than them. Even his awesome teachings were not providing his followers with the necessary perspective and life knowledge that they needed so desperately in order to transcend the narrow confines of ideology that were trapping them and leaving them helpless to the wanton desires of the helpless. As a final last resort Rabbi Nachman found the solution, he would reveal timeless stories, stories that would recreate the perception of the workings of the world, the listener would be reborn into new consciousness and awareness, and would be impassioned to forever seek renewal and true vitality. These stories are called Stories of Ancient Years, corresponding to the Divine Countenance of Attik Yoamin (see book of Daniel), the countenance of the Ancient of Years, which subliminally transcends all of the ordinary chain of events manifested in the Divine Providence, a bridge to cognizance of what is utterly beyond. On the one hand, these legendary tales are completely unfathomable in their scope and import, they are allusions to the most deep and esoteric Divine secrets, and yet on the other hand, they are filled with practical morals and life lessons which any reader can easily glean and gain. To this day no one has merited to completely understand the root and intrinsic meaning of the stories in their rightful context, yet multitudes of people have gained phenomenal new insights through these stories, the stories literally open up gates to greater perspicacity and cognizance. The stories have captured the attention and fascination of even the most secular scholars, they have been translated into different languages, and they are studied in universities throughout the world. Rabbi Nachman said that even the minutest detail of the stories is extremely critical, and unfortunately most of the translations are fraught with the literary license an author has to set down his own perspective, which in this case is undoubtedly very damaging. This translation was done painstakingly to capture as best as possible the exact translation and nuance, even following the order of the original verbiage, and often favoring the original Yiddish in which Rabbi Nachman delivered the stories. In more recent times, one of Rabbi Nachman's followers, Rabbi Yisroel Dov Odesser, underwent a phenomenal course of events which themselves proved to be the mechanism of transition and development of Breslov, and are understood to be a clear aspect of Stories of Ancient Times, and thus some of his stories are fittingly included in this volume as well as are many other stories from Na Nach Nachma Nachman MeUman.

HH: The Book of The Traits – Saifehr Hameedoas - part 1 was authored by Rabbi Nachman when he was still a young child, Rabbi Nachman also called this holy book, The Aleph Beth Book because it alphabetically charts all the influences, nuances, and manifestations of human CHARACTER. Part 2 was authored much later and is infinitely more profound. Many of the imports are seemingly found in the Oral Torah, and different scholars have documented those that are explicit, and challenged themselves to find sources and hints in the Torah to those that are not. This holy book should obviously be studied from cover to cover, however one should also consult it to look up a particular trait or matter at hand. Also, at any given time when seeking guidance or inspiration, one can open this holy book randomly and see the direction indicated by the teachings presented there. This is an extremely holy book, and just having it one's possession provides great benefit. Rabbi Nachmans said that every teaching of his, has a story (Life of Rabbi Nachman 94), and it has a melody, and a dance (ibid 340). If one were to only see and hear the Torah with its melody and dance, he would be completely nullified, his soul stretched to its utmost with longing, from the utter extremely wondrous and fabulous exquisite pleasure. May we merit to experience this with this holy book, in the merit of Na Nach Nachma Nachman MeUman.

Exodus - the odyssey to freedom reflected in the Stature of Man as it is reflected in the souls of Israel

The Chumash (Book, fifth) of Exodus is called “Shimoas” - “Names,' it lists the names of the Children of Israel and goes on to describe the exodus, the receiving of the Torah, and the building of the Tabernacle. All of these are formation of freedom, and they are all the same aspect, because the Torah which is a composition of the Divine Names of G-d is also a composition of the Names of Israel as we know that every soul has its root in a letter of the Torah, and Hashem's Name is partnered with the name of the tzadik, every Jew being a tzadik. The Tabernacle is also a microcosm of the entire universe, just like the Torah, and just like the stature of man. All the Jews together form the stature of man, and each one by himself is a microcosm of the stature of man, and a Tabernacle for the Shechina, the Divine Presence.

The exodus was replete with awesome miracles, so much so that one loses sight of the main most basic phenomenon that took place. Before the advent of any modern technology, some three million people (-estimated projection based on 600,000 between the ages of 20-60) got up together, synchronized and in congruity, and so they traveled together. This feat isn't even considered and counted as a miracle, it is taken for granted, and even if one would GF deny all the miracles, he would have to acknowledge this unbelievable phenomenon, that an entire nation of three million simply got up and marched together, with no previous practice or training, and waltzed out of Egypt and proceeded in such precise formation, stopping, camping, and starting in congruity.

This is the secret of the stature of man, the true Tabernacle for the Shechina, as mentioned above, so that each and every person has their own exact position, and when the true leader, the true tzadik of Israel rules, he is the daas (holy realization of knowledge) of Israel, and he brings the spirit of prophecy to each soul in the way particular to that soul in its position. And thus the very formation of the camps of Israel was a vessel for the Divine Presence.

In the future we will once again merit to remove the heart of stone <lev hu-evven> and Hashem Yisburach will give us a heart of flesh <lev busar>, Rabbainu said that this is an indication that in the future everyone will be Breslov, because the medrash says that “lev busar” is like “lev boasair” - a heart that despises what is not congenial to its own indigenous root and position, “lev boasair” is the same letters as BRESLOV. And so in the future, under the auspices of the holy spirit of Rabbainu, every soul will automatically be comfortable only in its own unique position (see elsewhere where it is explained that the answer to racism is not interracial mixing to wipe out the distinction, on the contrary that would be destroying the importance and role of each race, rather it is the realization and the maximizing of the potential of each entity in its true indigenous place and function, and thus each entity is equal in completing the final construct), and everyone will fall in place, and the stature of man, the form of the camps of Israel, the form of the Tabernacle will automatically be built and take shape.
