Blossoms of the Spring - Letter 7

Letter 7

BH 27 Nissan 718 (Thursday 17 April, 1958)

To a delightful man, Mr. Z. Shazar, greatings ("abundant peace").

On chol hamoed (-intermediate days of) Passover I wrote to his honor a receipt for his letter with the check of one hundred liras, and behold it is not possible to describe the great exquisite delight that he caused me to have from this wondrous matter, because I came to extra recognition in the matter of his pleasant, noble soul. I applied my heart, and I learned from this many good lessons of allusions, arousal, and encouragement, which are extremely urgent for the exalted and fundamental matter of drawing close to the light of the daas (realization of knowledge), the new and old, of the true tzadik who is the Rebbe and leader of us and of all the Children of Israel for eternal generations.

And now I am honored with this, to delight his good and expansive soul with good delicacies which I am about to publish ("bring to light") with the help of Hashem Yisburach.

Our teacher, the rav, Rabbi Nussun za.tza.l. once said to his disciples, "I will tell over to you my dream. I saw Ad.m.ur. (Our Master, Leader, and Rebbe), who came to me with one other person, and I told over to him ("before him") complainingly everything that transpired over me, and Ad.m.ur. said to me in these words, 'Dee <you> hust <did> ubber <however> mit <with> diyneh <your> sfurim <books> git gemacht <(you) did good>.' And this one who was with him nodded his head and agreed to this, and he said with these words, 'Yu yu <yes yes>, zayer <very> git <good> gemacht <(you) did>.' And I asked Ad.m.ur., 'Who is this?' And he replied, 'This is Moshe Rabbainu (-Moses) r.i.p.."

Also it is known that Rabbainu Hakadosh (-Our holy Rebbe) rested his hands upon him (-ordained him), and said of him that he (Rabbi Nussun) knows of him (Rabbainu) more than everyone.

In the beginning of Rabbi Nussun's o.b.m. drawing close to him, he (Rabbi Nachman) said then, "There came to me an avraich (-young married man, usually insinuating one engaged in Torah study), and through him there will not be lost even my small talk." And so it was, because just he engaged in publicizing his holy Torah (-teachings) to draw close through this many people to Hashem Yisburach, and through this the Samech Mem (-Satan) stood up against him, and made a controversy upon him through the Rav of Savrun who became his attacker and great hater to (-threaten/harass/endanger) his very life, but in the very end (Proverbs 12:19), "Language of truth is set firm forever," and the storm wind ceases and is lost, and is only great in its hour.

The main protraction of the exile, and the main obstruction of the redemption is just through strife (See Likutay Aitzos, Peace #4), because in every generation there exist people that tunnel (-strive, even in the most underhand way) to distance the heart of the Children of Israel from the true tzadik, and through this were brought about succeedingly all the destructions (-of the Temples), and the entire protraction of the present exile. However, even still (Psalms 92:9), "You are exalted forever Hashem," because also, likewise, there exist in every single generation true tzadikim and kosher (-proper) people who join up to the great chosen (/choice, prized) tzadik and go out joyously to great him, and listen to his counsel, and through this the redemption will come. He who desires to save his soul from the fire of strife, that is, not to take part in strife Heaven forbid, his main salvation is through truth.

In every single generation it is necessary to prowl, and to seek, and to search very very much, with all our strength, with all types of searching, with self sacrifice, for the true tzadik, until we merit to find him, and to draw close to him, and then we will merit to complete faith ("emoonu shlaimu"), through which the redemption will be brought (See Likutay Moharan, Torah 7). Fortunate is he who merits this, fortunate is he who awaits this, fortunate is he who spends all his days yearning, craving, and longing for this.

To be continued soon. Wishes of well-being to him and his household and those associated with him, and with feelings of absolute true love which is not contingent on any temporal matter.

Vessels and beyond

HH

HY created the world - which is a vessel to realize HY. The only existence that this vessel can possibly have and function with is Fear of HY. At the highest stage of creation that Fear of HY is absolute, high and exalted, and as more and more levels of obscurity are added, the vessels are weaker - less fear. It is that simple - the more fear of HY a person can bring to his consciousness, the more realization of HY he will immediately realize.

This is the level and paradigm of Chuchmu - which the Scriptures and are Sages o.b.m. revealed is unanimous with Fear of Hashem.

Then there is the paradigm of Moshe Rabbainu, whom are Sages revealed, for him Fear was a trivial matter. Moshe was operating on the paradigm of Humility-Kesser. All the fear, vessels, and realization - he abnegated to HY - so that all of that just reflected the One Infinite G-d.

May we merit.

Simple very effective meditation

HH

There is a very simple technique to really soothe and relax your body and mind. Simply sit comfortably and address each and every single part of your body individually, and tell it to loosen up and relax - there are some that suggest to first tell it to flex and tense up and then tell it to relax - and so one categorically addresses every muscle, bone, joint and whatever - you will feel and experience empirically how this simple dialogue works wonders.

Rabbainu said you should talk to your limbs, tell them to fear and be in awe of Hashem! Tell them that they aren't in the world for very much longer, and soon they will be rotting in the grave... Tell them about the aspect of Moshe Rabbainu - the utter humility - that is cloaked in them.

These are two paradigms; the external paradigm (of these two, but very much internal compared to the other consciousnesses) is fear and awe - יראת ה' - the fear and awe of Hashem - Yiras - is numerical value 611 together with nefesh and ruach (two yichudim of Hava'ya Adny and Hava'ya Elokim) equal the 613 components of the body - (see Yichud Ha'yeeru of Ramachal). The inner paradigm is the humility which is the paradigm that is resurrected - as explained in Likutay Moharan.
[The level of Yiru, I think can be correlated with the 2nd level of the general yichud explained in the Ramchal's kavanos for the prayers, and the level of humility, which culminates with mem vuv = 100 through Moshe Rabbainu, as explained at the end of Yichud Ha'yeeru, is the complete yichud described there - the 3rd level].

Based on this principle I put together some conversations one might like to have with the different parts of his body in this little book:

A little about science

HH

This is something that I found myself writing on a thread on facebook, it is really a very lengthy matter which I have addressed somewhat in my Hebrew Likutay Nanach, but since I've written this now in English, I will share it here:

HH the Torah says that Solomon was the wisest of all men even more than Moses, and the holy books are asking how that can be possible, and the Zohar explains that Solomon had wisdom of the working of the lower worlds of which Moses had absolutely no interest. Once a person merits to know of the workings of the inner worlds with their supreme power he will not care to waste an iota of time or energy in the weak infinitesimal lower systems. (In ancient Egypt they had magic doing all types of things that today is done by technology, and in contradistinction Adam originally had angels doting on him and his every pleasure and luxury.) And all this pertains to real wisdom, however the empirical happenings of this world the Zohar very greatly derides, and the Ramchal elaborates as well that the Sages of the Talmud don't even give any attention or mention to it at all, it is a very shallow shell which wraps up the true working of what is really going on. It is like measuring and analyzing ripples in a pool of water without taking into account the stone which was thrown into the water and set them off. And so the scientists are busy measuring and quantifying the superficial values, and completely missing the true workings - and that's besides for the fact that because their focus is so completely misplaced the chances of their having true faith and integrity is very slim, may the holy Merciful One have mercy on us in merit of the holy Petek of Na Nach Nachma Nachman MeUman!

Exodus - the odyssey to freedom reflected in the Stature of Man as it is reflected in the souls of Israel

HH

The Chumash (Book, fifth) of Exodus is called “Shimoas” - “Names,' it lists the names of the Children of Israel and goes on to describe the exodus, the receiving of the Torah, and the building of the Tabernacle. All of these are formation of freedom, and they are all the same aspect, because the Torah which is a composition of the Divine Names of G-d is also a composition of the Names of Israel as we know that every soul has its root in a letter of the Torah, and Hashem's Name is partnered with the name of the tzadik, every Jew being a tzadik. The Tabernacle is also a microcosm of the entire universe, just like the Torah, and just like the stature of man. All the Jews together form the stature of man, and each one by himself is a microcosm of the stature of man, and a Tabernacle for the Shechina, the Divine Presence.

The exodus was replete with awesome miracles, so much so that one loses sight of the main most basic phenomenon that took place. Before the advent of any modern technology, some three million people (-estimated projection based on 600,000 between the ages of 20-60) got up together, synchronized and in congruity, and so they traveled together. This feat isn't even considered and counted as a miracle, it is taken for granted, and even if one would GF deny all the miracles, he would have to acknowledge this unbelievable phenomenon, that an entire nation of three million simply got up and marched together, with no previous practice or training, and waltzed out of Egypt and proceeded in such precise formation, stopping, camping, and starting in congruity.

This is the secret of the stature of man, the true Tabernacle for the Shechina, as mentioned above, so that each and every person has their own exact position, and when the true leader, the true tzadik of Israel rules, he is the daas (holy realization of knowledge) of Israel, and he brings the spirit of prophecy to each soul in the way particular to that soul in its position. And thus the very formation of the camps of Israel was a vessel for the Divine Presence.

In the future we will once again merit to remove the heart of stone <lev hu-evven> and Hashem Yisburach will give us a heart of flesh <lev busar>, Rabbainu said that this is an indication that in the future everyone will be Breslov, because the medrash says that “lev busar” is like “lev boasair” - a heart that despises what is not congenial to its own indigenous root and position, “lev boasair” is the same letters as BRESLOV. And so in the future, under the auspices of the holy spirit of Rabbainu, every soul will automatically be comfortable only in its own unique position (see elsewhere where it is explained that the answer to racism is not interracial mixing to wipe out the distinction, on the contrary that would be destroying the importance and role of each race, rather it is the realization and the maximizing of the potential of each entity in its true indigenous place and function, and thus each entity is equal in completing the final construct), and everyone will fall in place, and the stature of man, the form of the camps of Israel, the form of the Tabernacle will automatically be built and take shape.

This is the Torah!

HH

Before reading (in someplaces after reading) from the holy Torah in the synagogue, the Torah is opened wide and held high overhead, and circled for everyone to see, and everyone says part of a verse: And this is the Torah which Moses presented before the people of Israel by the mouth of Hashem with the hand of Moshe... וזאת התורה אשר שם משה לפני בני ישראל על פי ה' ביד משה

The Ramchal explains, that every Torah scroll has complete and full sanctity. Even still all the Torah scrolls in no way can be compared to the actual Torah scroll written by Moshe (actually he wrote 13 on one Shabbos). That is why we say this verse while the holy Torah is paraded, to draw to it the holiness of the Torah scroll written by Moses.

Honesty and humility

HH Rabbi Nachman revealed that there are two things: truth and humility. There are many levels and depths of truth they are the values that G-d signs in creation. Their place and existence is in humility. No one can see G-d because in His infinite humility He will never show Himself, He will just show His Attributes. When a person completely abnegates himself, he slips under the veil and all of G-d's attributes radiate now from him, and thus he knows G-d firsthand. This is the way the Jews received the Torah on Purim (קיימו מה שקיבלו כבר). This is why Moshes name is not mentioned in this weeks portion because he told G-d that he needed to see the Jewish people as his Torah and erase himself as not (32:32 if not ersae me now.... Read from left to right it spells I am Nachman and the acronym spells out from Uman!). Na Nach Nachma Nachman Me'Uman!

Parshas Chukas

Last weeks Parsha - Chukas has direct information fundamental for Nanach.
1-3. The verse says that the people spoke against G-d (elokim) and Moshe, Rashi comments that the people equated Moshe to G-d! These people are referred to as the generation of knowledge, that means that when you are really really smart, that's when you begin to suspect that the tzadik is very close to G-d, and there is danger of even equating the tzadik to G-d. This needs explanation, true the Tzadik is very close to G-d and completely above our comprehension, but how can the tzadik be equated to G-d?
A second question is: When the people repented the verse relates that they told Moshe that they sinned by speaking against Hashem (YHVH) and Moshe, it seems that the people were still equating Moshe to G-d.
The answer to these questions I believe is, obviously the people never equated Moshe to G-d himself, when they spoke against G-d and Moshe, they referred to G-d by His attribute Elokim, Moshe Rabbainu is in fact referred to, by G-d Himself, as Eesh HuElokim, the master of Elokim. Thus it seems that the sin the people erred was by judging the prediciment they were in, as under the attribute of Elokim in which case they were equating the status of Moshe to that which they were undergoing. Upon repenting they realized that they were in fact under the eye of Hashem himself, YHVH, in which case there is no room at all for any equation.
We learn from this the utter supremecy of the tzadik, and the necessity to always view our lives as run by Hashem Himself.
The people upon repenting, even after they realized that their lives were being conducted by G-d Himself, knew that they were at the hands of Moshe, thus they went to Moshe, and confessed to Moshe their sins (Rabbi Nachman teaches the necessity to confess before the Tzadik, c.f. Likutay Moharan Tora 4, this is just one of the fundamental princibles the christians borrowed from the Jews, mistorted terribly, and after the Jews did not merit to retain their own, the practice was acreditted to the mistorted) pleaing with Moshe for him to pray to G-d and save them. That is the atitude we must have. Know that everything is completely from G-d Himself, and know that it is G-d's will that we subject ourselves to His Tzadik.

4. The Israelites sing a song of praise and thanks to G-d, they do not mention G-d name in it, Rashi explains that since they were unable to mention the name of Moshe (because Moshe was punished on their account, when he hit the rock, so it is out of place to mention him when praising G-d for the miracle of the rock), therefore they were unable to mention the name of G-d! Rashi gives a parable to someone inviting the king, the king replies if my friend is there, I will attend, if my friend is not there I will not be there either!
This makes it quite clear that we have to put the holy name Na Nach Nachmu Nachmun MayUman everywhere, so that G-d will grace us with His presence everywhere!
This is one of the reasons that often when you tell someone Nanach, they will reply Hashem, for by you saying Nanach, you have made it possible to mention the name of Hashem, who is always present just waiting for us to so to speak allow Him in.
