HH fascinating question, there are only 3 mitzvos which we are commanded to fulfill even at the cost of death RL. So what about the commandment of the Judge not to fear anyone in judgment, does that also obligate him even to the point of putting his life in jeopardy? The simple answer would be no. But there are opinions that say that the Torah specifically mandates the judge!
