A person's heart can be filled by very different stuff, and, at the end of the day, this is what is going to determine their quality of life.
In Torah 8 Rabbeinu says that all the lacks that a person has are felt specifically in the heart, while in Torah 14 he adds that the heart is the place of the fear of Heaven.
There is a famous passuk in Tehillim: (34:10): "There is no lacking for those who fear Him". When a person's heart is filled to capacity with fear of Heaven, there is probably no place left for perceiving any lacks.
