Likutay Moharan II, Torah 70
Everyone who is greater must seek his sought-after in a more distant place. As we see that the plant, its vitality and its sought-after is close to it immediately, for it grows from the earth close to it literally. And the animal, its sought-after is close to it also on the earth. But it is in a distance a bit more than the plant, for the animal is greater in level than the plant. But a son of man must seek his sought-after in a distance more and more than the animal. Therefore, Moshe Rabbeinu, peace be upon him, who was very great in level, had to seek his sought-after in a distance from a place more. Therefore, he had to seek for himself a wife from Midian, for his sought-after was far from him because of his greatness.
