244 - One who is mixed among the idolaters

One who is mixed among the idolaters [non-Jews or those of other faiths, in business or social dealings], that is, that he has businesses and give and take with them, needs to guard himself very very much that it not harm him, for easily he can be caught in their net, G-d forbid, to divide himself from the level of his Judaism that he has. For it is not enough for the person that he is in this the low world which angels have no power to stand in this the world as we found that one time angels came in this the world and were caught very much [Zohar Genesis 58a referring to angels falling to earthly temptations]. But in truth Israel have power more from angels and they can to stand in this the world and to overpower on this the world and to cleave to the Creator blessed be His name. But to be also mixed with the idolaters this is very hard. Therefore he needs to guard himself very very much to be like a strong peg that not move from the level of his fitness and his Judaism [remaining steadfast in faith and practice].
