Letter 92
BH. Chai [18th = life] Tammuz, [5]724 (Sunday – June 28, 1964).
In honor of the president of Israel, the bliss of my heart, Mr. S.
Z. Shazar – who degrades himself and throws away his honor afar for everything
pertaining to the benefit of the buildings and matters of the Tzaddik, the True
Leader who possesses a magnetizing force to draw and bring the whole world
close to God, blessed He. Much peace.
My beloved, my brother, my soul and heart! Don’t slack off in the
Mitzva that God has sent you, for your good; and be swift to do it for the sake
of Heaven without delay. Strengthen yourself to request wisdom from the True
Sage, the great wonder of all the generations, and hear and listen to His words
and solutions. Day and night the remembrance of Him shall not depart from you,
and set Him constantly before your eyes. Be a good friend to the true
God-fearing ones, connect with their company constantly – especially on the
holy Rosh Hashana that is approaching. “Weigh the path of your feat (Proverbs 4:26)” in order to straighten
them in the pathway of truth; flee and distance yourself from the path of
falsehood.
All things are upon the earth, as we see with our own eyes [lit. with our senses] that everything
grows from the earth and all the things and mankind are going and are placed on
the earth; and it’s impossible that they should become detached and distanced
from the earth other than by a counterforce. That is, that there is something
that forces the thing and takes it from its place, from the earth, and it distances
[the thing] from it. And in accordance with the
power of the counterforce, so the thing will be distanced from the earth. Afterwards,
when the forcing power is spent, the thing returns to the earth. For example, if
a person throws a stone into the air, he then forces the thing through his
energy and detaches it from the earth; and in accordance with his energy so he
forces the thing and throws it higher. And afterwards, when his energy which is
the forcing power is spent, the thing returns and falls to the earth. [This is] because the earth possesses a force
of gravity, and it draws everything to itself. For if not, [nothing] would be able to exist on it, because [everything] would have
fallen off of it since [the earth] is round and all of humanity stand around it; but it possesses the gravitational
force. Therefore, when the energy of the counterforce is spent and the thing
returns and falls down to the earth, however much it gets closer to the gravitational
force of the earth – it flies and falls down with greater speed.
And the True Tzaddik is the aspect of dust [of the earth] and all things
stand upon Him, and He possesses the gravitational force to pull everything to
Himself. Because this Tzaddik is only one in the world, who is the foundation
of the world, in that all the things are drawn from Him. For this Tzaddik, the
singular one in the world, is humble and lowly, and He makes Himself out to be
like dust – in the aspect of “And I am dust and ashes” (Genesis 18:27); and He is
therefore the foundation of the world, that is, the aspect of dust which all
the things are upon it.
And behold, it would be proper that all of mankind be drawn to this
Tzaddik who is the aspect of dust, who possesses the gravitational power. However,
by way of the power of counterforce, [they become] detached and estranged from Him. That is, there are people who, through
their speech and actions they are forcing people in order to stop them from
being drawn after the True Tzaddik who is the aspect of dust, the aspect of the
force of gravity. And in accordance with the power of the counterforce, so does
it distance from the Tzaddik; and afterwards, when the counterforce is spent,
the person will revert and draw himself, and he will return to the dust – to the
Tzaddik who possesses the magnetizing force.
All the honor any person in the world possesses, from the smallest
to the biggest, this is derived only from this Tzaddik who is the aspect of
dust, which from Him everything is drawn. For all the honor and greatness is
only by this Tzaddik, and everyone receives from Him; for in the place of lowliness
and smallness – there resides all the honor and greatness, as it is written “I will
dwell with the crushed” (See Isaiah 57:15).

ישראל, נעים ליבי, מר ש.ז.שזר, המשפיל עצמו ומשליך כבודו מנגד לכל דבר הנוגע לטובת
בניני ועסקי הצדיק המנהיג האמת, שיש לו כוח המושך למשוך ולקרב כל העולם להשם
יתברך. שלום רב.
אהובי, אחי, נפשי
וליבי! אל תתרשל בהמצוה אשר שלח ה' לך, לטובתך, ותהיה זריז לעשותה לשם שמים בלי
איחור. תתחזק לבקש חכמה מהחכם האמת, הפלא הגדול שבכל הדורות, ושמע והאזין דבריו
ועצותיו. יומם ולילה זכרו ממך לא ימוש, ותשוהו תמיד לנגד עיניך. חבר טוב היה ליראי
ה' האמיתיים, התחבר בחברתם תמיד, בפרט בראש השנה הקדוש, הממשמש ובא. פלס מעגל
רגליך לישר אותם בדרך האמת, ומדרך שקר תברח ותרחק.
כל הדברים הם על
הארץ, כמו שאנו רואים בחוש שהכל גדל מן הארץ, וכל הדברים והבריות הולכים ומונחים
על הארץ, ואי אפשר שיפסקו ויתרחקו מהארץ אם לא על ידי כוח המכריח, היינו שיש מי
שמכריח הדבר ונוטלו ממקומו מהארץ ומרחיקו ממנה, וכפי כוח המכריח כן נתרחק הדבר
מהארץ, ואחר כך כשנפסק כח המכריח חוזר הדבר להארץ. כגון אם זורק אדם דבר למעלה אזי
על ידי כחו מכריח הדבר ומפסיקו מהארץ, וכפי כחו כן מכריח הדבר וזורקו למעלה יותר,
ואחר כך כשנפסק כחו שהוא כח המכריח חוזר הדבר ונופל להארץ, כי הארץ יש לה כח המושך
וממשכת כל הדברים לעצמה, כי אם לאו לא היו יכולים להתקיים עליה, כי היה ראוי
ליפול ממנה מחמת שהיא כדורית, וכל בני העולם עומדים סביבה, אך שיש לה כוח המושך, ועל
כן כשנפסק כוח המכריח וחוזר הדבר ונופל למטה להארץ, כל מה שמתקרב להכח המושך של
הארץ ביותר הוא פורח ונופל למטה במהירות יותר.
והצדיק האמת הוא
בחינת עפר, וכל הדברים עומדים עליו, ויש לו כוח המושך להמשיך כל הדברים אליו, כי
זה הצדיק הוא רק יחיד בעולם שהוא יסוד עולם שכל הדברים נמשכים ממנו, כי זה הצדיק
היחיד בעולם הוא ענו ושפל ומשים עצמו כעפר בבחינת "ואנכי עפר ואפר", ועל
כן הוא יסוד עולם, היינו בחינת עפר שכל הדברים הם עליו. והנה היה ראוי שימשכו כל
בני אדם לזה הצדיק שהוא בחינת עפר שיש לו כוח המושך, אך על ידי כח המכריח מפסיקין
ומרחיקים ממנו, היינו שיש בני אדם שעל ידי דיבורם ומעשיהם הם מכריחים את בני אדם
להפסיקם מלהיות נמשך אחר הצדיק האמת שהוא בחינת עפר בחינת כח המושך, ולפי כח
המכריח כן מרחיק מהצדיק, ואחר כך כשיפסיק כח המכריח, יחזור וימשיך עצמו האדם וישוב
להעפר להצדיק שיש לו כח המושך.
כל הכבוד שיש לכל
אדם שבעולם מקטן ועד גדול הם מקבלים רק מזה הצדיק שהוא בחינת עפר שממנו נמשך הכל,
כי כל הכבוד והגדולה הוא רק אצל זה הצדיק, וכולם מקבלים ממנו, כי במקום השפלות
והקטנות שם שורה כל הכבוד והגדולה. כמו שכתוב "אשכון את דכא"
אוהבך ועבדך
