HY gave Rabbainu a gift of Rosh Hashana, the grand coronation of HY on Rosh Hashana over the entire universe takes place in Uman, so it is critical and of utmost importance to be by Rabbainu for Rosh Hashana. Also, I would assume that lucidly imagining being by the tziun can be as if you were really there, as Rabenu says that where one's thoughts are, that is where he is.
HH one should always imagine seeing Rabbainu with him, Rabbainu told someone specifically to do this... NNNNM!
