11 - When a Person Prays in the Field
Know, when a person prays in the field, then all the grasses [all] come into the prayer and assist him, and give him strength in his prayer. And this is the aspect that prayer is called sichah [conversation], the aspect of: "The bush (siach) of the field" [Genesis 2:5], for every bush of the field gives strength and assistance in his prayer (there 24a): "And Isaac went out to converse (lasuach) in the field" [Genesis 24:63], that his prayer was with assistance and strength of the field, that all the grasses of the field gave strength and assistance in his prayer as above, hence, prayer is called sichah [conversation].
And therefore in the curse it is said: "And the ground shall not give its produce" [Deuteronomy 11:17], for all produce of the earth needs to give strength and assistance within the prayer. And when there is blemish and hindrance to this, then it is said: "And the ground shall not give its produce," for even when one does not pray in the field, the produce of the earth also gives assistance in one’s prayer, that is, all that sustains the person, such as eating and drinking and the like [derived from the earth’s produce]. Only when one is in the field, then one is closer to them exceedingly, then all the grasses and all the produce of the ground gives strength in one’s prayer as above.
And this is produce (yevul), acronym: Yitzchak went out to converse in the field (vayetzei Yitzchak lasuach basadeh), that all the produce of the field prayed with him, as above [This matter is explained well in the discourse "Blow the shofar on the new moon" that begins on p. 1a, see there, Likutay Moharan II, Torah 1].
