13 - All That Dispute Him More, Bring Him Closer More to Hashem
When they dispute against the person, it is found that they pursue him and he flees each time to Hashem, blessed be He. The more they dispute against him, the closer he draws to Hashem, blessed be He, for Hashem, blessed be He, is in every place, the aspect of: "If I ascend to heaven, there You are, and if I make my bed in Sheol, behold You" [Psalms 139:8]. It is found that in every place he flees to Hashem, blessed be He.
And this is the aspect of: "and Pharaoh drew near [hikriv]" that he drew near Israel to their Father in heaven (Midrash Rabbah, Beshalach parasha 21) [caused to draw near spiritually], that through his pursuit of them they were drawn closer to Hashem, blessed be He, as above.
