Letter 106

 

Baruch Hashem. 29 Tishrei, [5]727 (Thu – Oct. 13, 1966).

 

In honor of the president of Israel, the joy of my heart, Mr. S. Z. Shazar – who has entwined and attached himself in truth to the True Tzaddik, the Master of Wonders, wonders of wonders to no end in order to heal and enliven us at all times, in each and every generation for eternity. In His great and awesome merit and power God will draw upon you a healing in completeness, and He will give you healthy and blissful life, long life, true life.

 

I trusted in the magnitude of your humility to open my mouth and speak before you, words of truth that are in my heart.

My beloved, my brother, my soul and heart, because of the powerful blissfulness of your love that is rooted in my heart constantly at all times, I stood trembling and astonished, pangs and birth throes took hold of me from the not-good report that you are lying in the hospital; my heart is in an uproar over your suffering and pain. I extremely anguish over you, my brother, [who is] dear to me as my very soul. My heart is confident in the immenseness of God’s loving-kindness and wonders that He will certainly have mercy on you and His nation the Jewish people, and He will heal you speedily [with a] complete healing from the Heavens – for God will not forsake His people because of the True Tzaddik which we are ensconced in His holy shade. His great, exalted, and awesome power of Rabbeinu ַNa ַNaְch ַNaְchָma ַNaְchָman MayUman will stand for you and your household and for all the souls of the House of Israel for refuge and as a shield for eternity.

 

The gushing stream which you have merited to pump therefrom wisdom, through which one merits to recognize and know God – do not replace Him and do not exchange Him, God forbid (See Sefer Hamidos, Tzaddik:42). Please, my brother, thoroughly recall the compassion and love of Rabbeinu to us, in that He took us from the place that He took, and He extracted us from the place He extracted, and He drew us close to the Creator, blessed He, with a great closeness. Therefore, it is congruous for us to think deep thoughts in order to surmount all the obstacles and to draw close to the light of the True Tzaddik from now on anew – to learn His holy books and to say every day [from] the book ‘Likutei Tefilos’ [Collections of Prayers] as much as possible. And through this, all the judgements [dinim] and agony will become sweetened from upon you, and all the decrees will become nullified from you.

 

He who prays constantly with all [his] heart for your wellbeing and healing in body and soul,

בגודל ענותנותך בטחתי לפתוח פי ולדבר לפניך דברי אמת שבלבי. אהובי אחי נפשי ולבבי, מעוצם נועם אהבתך המושרש בלבי תמיד בכל עת עמדתי מרעיד ומשתומם וצירים וחבלי לידה אחזוני מהשמועה לא טובה שאתה שוכב בבית החולים, הומה לבי על צערך וכאיבך צר לי מאד עליך אחי חביבי כנפשי. לבי בטוח בגודל חסדי ה' ונפלאותיו כי בוודאי ירחם עליך ועל עמו ישראל וירפא אותך מהרה רפואה שלימה מן השמים כי לא יטוש ה' את עמו בעבור הצדיק האמת שאנו חוסים בצלו הקדוש. כחו הגדול הנשגב והנורא של רבינו נַ נַחְ נַחְמָ נַחְמָן מאומן יעמוד לך ולביתך ולכל נפשות בית ישראל למחסה ולמגן לנצח.

הנחל נובע אשר זכית לשאוב ממנו חכמה שעל ידה זוכין להכיר ולידע את ה' לא תחליפנו ולא תמיר אותו ח"ו. נא אחי זכור היטב גודל רחמנות ואהבת רבינו אלינו שלקח אותנו ממקום שלקח והוציאנו ממקום שהוציא וקירבנו להבורא יתברך, בהתקרבות גדול, לכן ראוי לנו לחשוב מחשבות עמוקות להתגבר על כל המניעות ולהתקרב לאור הצדיק האמת מעתה מחדש, ללמוד ספריו הקדושים ולומר בכל יום ספר לקוטי תפלות כמה שאפשר, ועי"ז יומתקו מעליך כל הדינים והיסורים ויתבטלו כל הגזירות ממך.

המתפלל תמיד בכל לב על שלומך ורפואתך בגוף ובנפש.
