 Letter 69

 

BH, 4^th of Tishrei [5]723 (Tuesday – October 2, 1962), the holy city of Jerusalem.

 

My bone and flesh, Mr. Z. Shazar – who holds himself within the True Tzaddik who is the expert and faithful doctor, who knows and recognizes all the deficiencies and sicknesses of each and every person, and He knows how to engage in his healing – in completeness. Much peace, [may you merit a] final good signing.

 

I have received your letter from the 28^th day of Elul, [5]722 together with the check amounting to one-hundred Israeli Liras. Much thanks and shout-outs of charming grace, charming grace from the depths of my heart.

 

Oh, how sweet it was for my soul the good and loving-kindness that you have tremendously done with me – when I saw through this, that the words of Rabbeinu Z”l are making an impression on your heart. For it is extremely heavy and hard to accept His words because of the multitude of the separating screens, and the wisdoms of insanity which exceedingly encircle and warp the heart. I wish [Mi yitein – lit. who will give] they would enter our hearts, and into the hearts of all the Jewish people, and they should produce their effects properly [so that] we come to where [lit. to what] we have to come to in this world – for that which we have been created for.

 

Through [the giving of] charity and loving-kindness to the True Tzaddik and upstanding paupers – through this one completes the intellect, and the brains [Moichin] become uplifted, and one merits to see the light of the Tzaddik. And thereby, one merits to subdue the body to the soul, the substance to the form, the foolishness to the intellect – and one emerges from darkness to light, from animality to Man; and all the foreign ideologies [lit. outer wisdoms] become nullified, and one merits to conceptions of Divineness; and he nullifies the judgement and darkness, and he draws loving-kindnesses in the world.

 

He who constantly supplicates on his behalf at all times, and waits for his salvation and good in this [world] and the upcoming [world], and heartful wishes and blessings for the new year – for you and your family [lit. house] for good and long life:

מכתבך מיום כ"ח אלול תשכ"ב, קיבלתי בצרוף צ'ק על סך 100 ל"י מאה לירות ישראליות. רב תודות ותשואות חן חן מעמקי לבבי.

מה מאד מתק לנפשי הטוב והחסד שהגדלת לעשות עמדי, בראותי בזה שדברי רבינו ז"ל עושים רושם בליבך, כי כבד וקשה מאד לקבל דבריו מחמת ריבוי המסכים המבדילים, והחכמות של שטות והבל שמסבבים ומעקמים הלב מאד. מי יתן שיכנסו בליבנו ובלב כל ישראל ויעשו פעולתם כראוי לבוא למה שאנו צריכים לבוא בזה העולם אשר לכך נוצרנו.

על ידי צדקה וחסד להצדיק האמת ועניים הגונים על ידי זה משלימים השכל ונתרומם המוחין וזוכין לראות אור הצדיק, ועל ידי זה זוכה להכניע הגוף לגבי הנפש, החומר לגבי הצורה, הסכלות לגבי השכל, ויוצא מחושך לאור, מבהמה לאדם, ונתבטלין החכמות חיצוניות וזוכין להשגות אלוקות, ומבטל הדין והחושך וממשיך חסדים בעולם.

המעתיר בעדו תמיד בכל עת ומצפה לישועתו וטובתו בזה ובבא, ואיחולים לבביים לשנה החדשה לך ולביתך לחיים טובים וארוכים.
