The Spark of Divine Wisdom Ignites a Living Flame in the Heart
The light of wisdom—the understanding and discernment bestowed by the Holy One, blessed be He—kindles a spark within the heart that grows into a living flame.
This flame is not like the ordinary fire of the physical world, but a spiritual fire that illuminates the soul and purifies it.
It is written: “A fire shall be kindled in My anger…” [Deuteronomy 32:22].
The Divine anger here is understood as the fire of Divine wisdom that burns away impurity and darkness within the soul.
When a person studies Torah with intention and devotion, this spiritual fire ignites, removing obscurities and enlightening the mind.
This illumination leads the person to higher levels of understanding and closeness to the Creator.
Furthermore, the fire is nourished by sincere prayer and acts of kindness, which fuel the heart’s yearning for holiness.
The flame then spreads warmth, enlivening the entire being, until the person walks in the path of Divine truth with joy and conviction.
One must therefore strive to kindle and maintain this fire by continuously seeking knowledge, deepening one’s service of God, and purifying one’s intentions.
Thus the heart becomes a vessel worthy of receiving the boundless light of the Holy Spirit.
