Likutay Moharan II, Torah 51: The Evil Inclination Knocks on a Person Each Time

The yetzer hara [evil inclination] knocks on a person each time and arouses him to what it arouses. And even if the person does not listen to it and turns his back on it, even so, it knocks on him again a second, third, fourth, and more times. But if the person is strong in his mind and stubborn against the yetzer hara and does not turn to it at all, then the yetzer hara departs and goes away. And similarly in tefillah [prayer], regarding the machshavos [thoughts] that come to confuse, it is actually as mentioned above, that the machshavah comes several times, time after time, to confuse. And one must be strong not to look at it at all in any way, and then it will depart. And see elsewhere regarding this.
