Likutay Moharan II, Torah 43: Through Weakness of the Heart, Fears Fall Upon Him

Through chalishus halev [weakness of the heart], pachadim [fears] fall upon him. For the gibor [mighty one] has no fear at all, and the main gevurah [might] is in the heart, that is, one whose heart is strong does not fear anything and runs into the bonds of war, and prevails through the strength and courage of his heart. And similarly, the opposite, rakei levav [soft-hearted] are afraid (Deuteronomy 20:8): “The man who is afraid and soft-hearted”. Rashi explains: The one who is afraid, and so forth, for through rach levav [soft-heartedness], through this he is afraid, as mentioned above.
