לבלוע האוכל ולהתנהג על דרך הסוד

ספר חיי מוהר"ן

רעג. שלא התחיל לעשות שום דבר בעולם קדם שידע הסוד, ע"ש. כל זה רק לענין הנהגות ועסקי העולם, אבל לענין מצות פשוט וברור שצריכים נעשה ונשמע, קודם לעשות באמונה ואחר כך זוכים לדעת הסוד (ע' למשל לקוטי מוהר"ן תורה צא).

בריש ספר שבחי הר"ן מסופר ז"ל בהיותו בימי קטנותו בא על דעתו לפרש מהעולם, ורצה לשבר תאות אכילה, אך עדין היה בשכל קטן, ונדמה לו שזה אי אפשר שיניח מאכילתו כפי מה שהיה רגיל לאכל בבקר ובצהרים וכו'. על כן ישב עצמו שיהיה בולע כל מה שיאכל, דהינו שלא יהיה לועס מה שיאכל רק יבלע כמו שהוא וכו' עיין שם.

[יש לעיין מה הקשר וההמשך – לפרש מהעולם ורצה לשבר תאות אכילה, או שהם שני דברים נפרדים.

ענין שהתחיל בענין אכילה, לכאורה על דרך המדרש שהביא תוספות (כתובות קד.) עד שאדם מתפלל שיכנס תורה לתוך גופו יתפלל שלא יכנסו מעדנים לתוך גופו.]

והנה המסתכל בכתבי ובכוונות האריז"ל יראה גודל הענין לטחון האוכל דק היטב היטב. וצריך לומר או שרבינו השיג כוונות אחרות כפי רצונו דוקא לבלוע, או שמעשה זה של הבליעה היה עוד בקטנותו קודם שבא למנוע את עצמו מלעשות שום דבר בלי לדעת סודו. אי נמי, כאן הסוד ברור וידוע לכל יודעי ספר, ורבינו דוקא בחר לא לעשות דרך הסוד, והוא יוצא מן הכלל.

סידור שערי ציון - תפילות לכל יום

ב"ה

בסוף יום ב' כתוב לומר תפילה של יום א'. בסוף יום ג' כתוב לומר התפילה של יום ב'.

ידוע שרבינו היה אומר כל התפילות כל יום. אבל אין נראה שזה הענין כאן. אולי י"ל שהזמן לומר התפילות האלו באשמורת הבקר - וכמו שכתוב שם בסוף לומר אחר כך אדון עולם - וכיון שבקרבנות הלילה הולך אחר היום, יש ענין לומר את התפלה של היום שעבר.

ועדיין צריך עיון.

בהזכרת שמות הצדיקים נראה לע"ד שיכולים לכוון בהזכרתם, שנשמותיהם יוצאים מפה עליון, והרי הם כלי לכל המציאות כפי השגתם.

The idiom for someone conceited is - stuck up. This is derived from Rabbainu's teaching that excessive pride causes someone to be sodomized RL. There are many levels to this, and I think the phenomena which is becoming very common nowadays of people sticking things up - and often ending up in the ER, is one of them.

May we merit true humility in merit of the holy Petek of Na NaCh NaChMa NaChMaN MAyUMaN 

The Greatness of HY

Rabbainu spoke of the importance of contemplating the greatness of HY. This avoda is placed prominently at the beginning of the holy work Sichos Huran. In Likutay Moharan, Rabbainu states that one who has achieved any conception of the greatness of HY will scoff at the greatest temptations of the flesh, and even if he were to be presented with an opportunity to privately fulfill the most lustful cravings, he would not even consider it.

In the story of ancient times, of the son of a king and a son of a maidservant who were exchanged, the son of the king comes to a certain level of understanding of the greatness of HY when he says, on the contrary - "Just the reverse. If it is so, that Hashem Yisburach can indeed do such a thing, that they should exchange a king's son, and such things should befall him - do I turn myself to behave this way?! Is it right, what I have done? Does it befit me that I should behave thus, the way I have done?" And he began to have great anguish and strong remorse over the evil deeds he had done.

When contemplating HY one can interject every so often a technique used in hypnosis, stating in the mind or out load, double or ten times stronger.

One chasidic master upon contemplating the greatness of HY was seized with so much fear, all but two of his teeth fell out, and he referred to those teeth as the wicked ones....

Rabbainu was always shaking from fear of HY, so much so, that when he rested his hand on the table, it also shook, as did the people leaning on it.
