Blossoms of the Spring - Letter 58

HH - special thanks to MW for doing the initial translation.

Letter 58

B.H. 11 Eyar 721 (27 April, 1961), Tiberius.

My dear Mr. Z. Shazar, member of the holy group of the Master of Prayer, who is the wonder of all wonders of the Creator, may He be blessed, upon whom depends all of the salvations of all Israel. Peace, and life, and all goodness.

I shall go wholeheartedly (Psalms 26:1) to perform my obligation, to remind you and to encourage you at every instance to run away to the Tzadik and to think about the true tachlis (ultimate purpose), because I am obligated to serve the Tzadik and to fulfill his command and his desire, that he yearns to bestow from his goodness to all of Israel — but you have free choice. And Hashem in His mercy will help us and incline our choice for the good, that we may merit to begin from now to spend all of our days to look for and to seek the True Tzadik, who dug and revealed wells of living water to heal sick souls of Israel, for us and for our generation and for all generations of the seed of Israel; and anyone who wants to merit to draw from these holy wells words that vitalize the soul forever and for all eternity, shall come and merit.

And if the obstacles spread out before him like iron bolts and copper doors, it is already known to us that it is impossible to draw close to the Tzadik except by breaking powerful obstacles. Remember well all of this, and pull yourself together and be strong, and don’t be what they call a shlemazelnik (good-for-nothing, luckless, dysfunctional).

The awesome story of the Master of Prayer - an extraordinary and awesome story, wonder of wonders. And besides the roots of the matters and the great inner meanings that are in all of these stories, which are extraordinary and greatly hidden from human intellect, also according to the simple meaning there are sensible ethical lessons (mussar haskel – Proverbs 1:3) explained in each and every topic, wondrous and very powerful mussar (ethics), and it greatly arouses the heart to draw close to Hashem, may He be blessed, and it speaks generally about nearly every type of mistake and distortion and false reasoning of fallacy and error that is found in the world, and about the clarification and fixing of them.

Everyone acknowledges that the main thing is the tachlis (ultimate purpose). And everyone must acknowledge that anyone who tries harder and is closer to the ultimate purpose, [he] deserves to be head and king over all. However, from the time that the great storm wind confused and overturned the world completely, from sea to dry land and from dry land to sea, and from desert to civilization, etc., and the king, and the queen, and the princess, and the infant, and the entire holy assembly of the king and his men were separated and scattered, then all of the worlds were confused and their true order upset, and all the people of the world were confused, and separated, and divided into various groups according to the matter of the investigation of “what is the ultimate purpose?” And each group erred and became greatly confused by their wicked desires, by their strange viewpoints and reasonings fictitious and fallacious, until they became distorted and erred greatly and overturned the truth to its complete opposite. Some of them said that the main tachlis is honor, to chase extremely, Heaven forbid, after honor and to attain it. Because there are people who are overly inflamed after honor, and chase ardently after honor, and lose their eternal world and also this world for the sake of a little honor that they want to attain. This one wants to be honored and esteemed through his wealth, that he should have fame and glory among noblemen, and officers, and the elite of the land etc., and this one wants to be honored and esteemed through his Torah and his avoadu (service of HY), and tunnels all of his days to be accepted as a rabbi and a leader. Which, in truth, is to the contrary — this matter is the actual opposite, because the main purpose of all the creation is only the glory of Hashem, may He be blessed, and His Torah and His True Tzadikim, which is impossible to merit this only when one minimizes his own honor completely and flees from honor completely, in truth, and is aware of his own smallness and lowliness, and he; "the despised in His eyes is disgusting, and he honors those who fear Hashem (Psalms 15:4)," and he strives and exhausts all of his days to increase the glory of the Omnipresent One, which is the glory of the Torah and the True Tzadikim, and truly nullifies his own honor completely - and they reversed the truth to its complete opposite, and they strayed from viewpoint to viewpoint and from rationale to rationale, until they said that the main purpose is honor, and they had evidence, and proofs, and great rationalizations about this - that the main goal is honor - to chase after honor exceedingly, may the Merciful One save us from this view.

And so too, the other group erred in their wicked reasoning and veered from rationale to rationale, until they went crazy and said that murder is a mitzva (divine commandment), and it is the tachlis (main goal), and they had evidence and many proofs of this. And really, even though it seems far-fetched to believe that there could be found people like this, who would have rational that murder is a mitzva (divine commandment), still, there actually are errors like these in the world, to the point that it is possible to be mistaken by them, into saying that murder is a mitzva, until they came to anger and actual murder. And similarly with the rest of the factions, (and) each one had for themselves many rationales for their errors, until it was possible to really be mistaken in them.

To be continued, with the help of Hashem.

The scribe, who sacrifices his soul for the sake of the good and the salvation of your soul in truth, and may your peace (-well-being) grow for lengthy good and healthy days.

Blossoms of the Spring - Ebay Hanachal - Letter 5

Letter 5

B.H. 9 Shevat 718 (January 30, 1958). Tiberius.

In honor of the good and pleasant Mr. Z. Shazar, blessings of life and abundant peace.

The day before yesterday, I sent him good delicacies which his soul loves, and I hope that he will feel great pleasantness in them. Now as well (I) send him a good gift from the treasure house of Rabbainu, the pupil of our eye N’N’M’Ch’ [acronym of: Nachal <stream> Noavaya <gushing> Mikor <source> Chuchmu <wisdom> (Proverbs 18:4) – this acronym is the same letters as NaChMaN] za.tza.l..

The essence of the coming of the Messiah is to reveal the truth in the world, because now the truth is in great exile, and everyone says that the truth is with him, and the essential truth will be revealed by Messiah, and this is the essential redemption (Likutay Halachos, Choshen Mishpat vol. 1, 3:10, also see there Orach Chaim vol. 1, Morning Blessings 3:41, Yoreh Dayah volume 1; Signs of a kosher animal and beast 4:32, Interest 5:18, 31).

Truth and falsehood are the aspects of a king and slave, and due to the overwhelming falsehood, the son of the king was switched with the son of the slave, to the effect that they thought that the son of the slave was the son of the king, and the converse regarding the son of the king, as is explained in the Legendary Tales (Likutay Halachos, Morning Blessings 3:11). And the main nullification of the falsehood, and the revelation of the truth, is through abnegating himself absolutely and completely until he is in the aspect of actual dirt, in the aspect of, “and my soul should be like dirt to all (conclusion of the 18 benedictions)” (Likutay Halachos, Signs of a kosher animal and beast 4:28).

For everything grows from the earth, and all the things and creatures go and rest upon the earth, and it is impossible for them to cease and be distanced from the earth except by a power of force, that is, by means of someone forcing the item, and taking it from its place on the earth, and distancing it (– the item, from it – the earth). And according to the amount of power of the force, so the item will be distanced from the earth; and afterwards, when the power of the force ceases, the item returns to the earth, because the earth has the power of gravity, and draws all things to itself, because otherwise it would not be possible to stand/exist upon it, because it would be congruous to fall from it, since it is spherical and all of humanity stand around it, as is known, but for the power of gravity it has etc. (Likutay Moharan, Torah-Lesson 70).

And there is a true tzadik who is the foundation of the world, and he is in the aspect of dirt, and all the things stand upon him, and this tzadik is only solitaire in the world, and even all the tzadikim are only branches from him, each one according to his aspect, there is he who is a branch from him, and there is he who is a branch of branch. And this tzadik who is solitaire in the world is humble, and lowly, and makes himself to be as dirt, and through this he has the power of gravity to draw the whole world to him to bring them close to Hashem Yisburach and to His holy Torah. And this tzadik draws all the provisions of the world, for all the bounty is drawn from the aspect of the dirt, from the aforementioned tzadik (Likutay Moharan, Torah-Lesson 70).

And behold, it would be congruous for all the people to be drawn to this tzadik who is the aspect of dirt, who has the power of gravity, as mentioned above, however due to the power of force they are severed and distanced from him; that is, there are people that through their words and actions they force people, severing them and distancing them from the aforementioned tzadik, and according to the amount of the power of force so they will distance from the tzadik. And afterwards, when the power of force abates, he will return and he will draw himself to the dirt, to the aforementioned tzadik who has the power of gravity (Likutay Moharan, Torah-Lesson 70)! And the main build up of the power of force is through arrogance, and haughtiness, and honor – the fear that one’s honor will be diminished and he will be disgraced when he comes (close) to the truth. Therefore, whoever desires to know the real truth, should lower his self regard in truth, and remember his shortcomings and his lowliness in truth, and all that transpired to him from his onset; and when he truly feels his lowliness, then certainly the truth will be revealed to him, and the power of gravity will overpower the power of force, and he will be drawn with great speed to the true tzadik (Likutay Halachos, Choshen Mishpat, Division of Possessions 4:9).

Heartfelt wishes of well-being for him and all those in his company, and blessings of health of body and soul.

Na Nach Nachma Nachman MeUman

We got the cure!

HH

He had got me to take the bait, and he turned on me and said, that's exactly what I'm talking about, we need your help with a new project promoting the awesome book Blossoms of the Spring (Ebay HaNachal) which has been known and confirmed to cure cancer....

Here is the first letter:

Saba Yisroel -- To See The Blossoms of the Spring

Chapter 2 – His Childhood

Once, in the summer of 753 (1993), before the prayers he spoke about his childhood, and he fired us up so much that afterwards we prayed with shouting and great kavana (concentration and intention). He said that H”Y gave him many presents from the time he was little, that he did not desire this world at all. At that time the modern, who go in short clothing, began to proliferate, but he waited to become of age and wear a long garment. They suffered from poverty, he said that poverty is a great gift, because from a full stomach it is hard to serve Hashem; one sleeps a lot, and specifically from the poverty he saw the vanity of this world. At night he would go to sleep, but it is necessary to eat, and much time was left (without food) and he had only a piece of bread. When he saw someone saying Psalms with Kavana, he would say, “fortunate is this person, he is committed to the ultimate purpose!” He himself experienced great delight in every word of his prayer and of the Psalms that he said, and this was one of the presents.

When he prayed in the synagogue, he would pray with all this strength and kavana, as though he was alone, and one of the elders (who was very miserly) gave him a large coin every day, until he amassed a sum and he asked his mother to buy him a siddur 'kol-boa' – that has in it all types of supplications and prayers – from Jerusalem. He also told us that he would get up at night to serve Hashem, and the house was hot like a cave, and he would like a candle with benzine, in order to study, and in his house --- they were extremely poor – they were very grieved by this, for they saw that before Shabbos they were very deficient in benzine in order to cook etc.. Until they made electric lights outside, and he rejoiced greatly then, for now he would be able to pray and learn the night for free.

Chapter 3

Blossoms of the Spring

R' Yisroel told someone to reach out to his (this person's) family through letters, just as he (Saba) had done with Shazar, taking Rabbainu's books and quoting them in letters of outreach.

R' Yisroel once called one of the friends on Shabbos and said to him, “Behold I authored Blossoms of the Spring, this is not a simple matter.” This was like saying that this book was not a simple copying from the books of Rabbainu that anyone could have done, so the matter needs study.

Chapter 4

Love of Friends

Once, someone told R' Yisroel that he sees that it is very difficult to make peace between the friends. R' Yisroel replied, “I remained alon, all of them (all my friends) deserted me, very good” etc..

Once, R' Yisroel turned to two friends and asked them if they were friends, good friends. And he said that the main point of friendship is to find the truth.

On the last Rosh Hashana he said to someone: We should merit to have a true chevra (group of friends).

To someone whose friends conflicted with him and didn't speak with him, he said: We didn't come to this world for friends, just to serve Hashem – to fulfill the Torah and the mitzvos.

Once, at the end of his life, he said: I searched the whole world, I didn't find a friend. So someone asked him, “How does one merit to be your friend?” R' Yisroel answered: The main thing is to pray with a fiery heart to merit to draw close to Rabbainu in truth (and in this way it is possible to merit to be his friend, that was the implication).

To someone who lived alone, in a place without friends, R' Yisroel said: Your friend is the Likutay Tefilos.

He said to someone that is good to be friends with someone who donates a lot of money for the publication (of Rabbainu's teachings). Once, someone wanted to give charity to one of the friends because he heard of his plight, and someone (else) convinced him that it would be better to give it to R' Yisroel (-for the publication). So when he agreed and came to R' Yisroel with the donation, R' Yisroel responded with unwillingness and doubt, and in the end he (R' Yisroel) said to him: Fine, give to so-and -so and mentioned the name of the friend in plight (all of this without them having told him anything about the matter, because it was clearly visible to anyone who looked truthfully, that everything was revealed before him).

He asked someone to ascertain that he was friends with someone who desired to learn a lot, and learned a lot every day.

Once, someone took enjoyment, in his mind, that R' Yisroel chastised his friend, and after a few minutes R' Yisroel turned to him privately and said to him: you are not in order.
