The awesome holy kingdom of HY

 HH

Years ago a summer camp made a big project building a miniature replica of the Temple. They celebrated it's completion, and came Tisha Bi-av, they lit on fire and burned it down. Quite the lesson.

However beautiful their model was in resemblance to the Temple, it obviously didn't touch the actual beauty, splendor, and grandeur of the actual Temple, nor could they capture at all the miraculous atmosphere which presided, as we are taught in Avos of the daily miracles which took place in the Temple.

The holy Temple itself was just an exterior physical seat for the Divine Merkava. Holy books such as the Haichulos of Rabbi Yishmuel, parts of the Zohar, and Bris Menucha give a glimpse of description of the actual spiritual merkava, whose power and beauty is indescribable, as it gives life and existence to all of creation. No power or force in the world could touch it. Just the purveyance of philosophy, occult, injustice, lust and so forth, poured forth torrents of putrid impurity, and the Merkava went into exile.  This is the backwards existence of today, when the most precious truth and beauty is hidden and blocked out by the rule of the putrid. The tragedy here is unfathomable, and one is required to mourn this infinite travesty. (The Sages warned that upon recounting the greatness of the true kingdom of HY there must not be any knives present, because the utter anguish can lead to great danger). In one second, the entire hierarchy and building of the evil empire will be nullified and disappeared by the true kingdom of HY.

Even still, even today, one can merit to live in the true paradigm of the awesome holy kingdom, if one falls the holy measures of Na Nach Nachma Nachman MayUman.

Hisbodidus - Alone Time

HH

Introduction

Hisbodidus {pronounced: hisboadidoos} literally means to be alone, and it takes on the meaning and function of all things holy that are best, or can only be achieved, alone. Notwithstanding all the noble and critical devotions that occur and are performed during hisbodidus – many of which will be presented in this book, being alone is of itself an end not just a means. G-d Almighty is One, solitaire, alone. The father of all Israel, Abraham, is extolled in Scriptures (Yichezkel 33:24) as being “one,” and in the preface to the second volume of Likutay Moharan (The Collection of (the holy teachings) of Our Master Rabbi Nachman), Rabbi Nachman makes it clear that devotion to G-d begins only from this point where a Jew takes on this attribute of Abraham and can stand alone even against the antagonism and backlash of all his loved ones, family, and the entire world. Rabbi Nachman even explained to little children how ultimately they would be alone in the grave.[1] Rabbi Nachman said that if a person, even one stooped in sin and vice, would be left alone without any influence of others, ultimately the person would come around to be good.[2] Rabbi Nachman taught how each person is like a monarch with his own kingdom,[3] and each person must take responsibility for himself and the entire world.[4] This was a phenomenally novel idea for those times when the Jew was totally downtrodden under very dismal living conditions and almost without rights. Even still Rabbi Nachman expected everyone to realize their own majesty and take control accordingly (3). Today, when most people enjoy full rights and liberties, and are privileged with so many amenities the likes of which may not have even been accorded to former kings, Rabbi Nachman’s teaching radiates with its truth. The mentality and viewpoint of a king is entirely different than that of a commoner. A king must have full knowledge of his kingdom, and he must maintain proper control and management. A king also has entertainers. A king must have time for himself, especially in private gardens and nature reserves. All these properties and more, Rabbi Nachman wanted every person to achieve and maintain. Rabbi Nachman belittled the shlimazel (-good for nothing),[5] he demanded that people take control of their lives, for and by themselves. Rabbi Nachman demands that a person have complete financial independence and not need anyone’s approval of any sort for anything.[6] Rabbi Nachman warned very strongly against all the contemporary rabbis,[7] and this was not only due to their fraud, and corruption, and bad advice, but because he expected every person to take stock and be their own man,[8] and not be reliant on anyone. Rabbi Nachman himself rarely told anyone what to do, at best he would give a suggestion, some type of advice with a direction,[9] and there are documented stories of when Rabbi Nachman did tell people what to do, fully hoping and expecting them to challenge what he told them![10] All of this needs to be expounded upon properly in its proper place, for here we will just take out the point that hisbodidus, which is one of the most fundamental features of Breslov, isn’t just a means to be able to work on proper devotion of Hashem, hisbodidus is intrinsically and innately an attribute which must be acquired. Thus Rabbi Nachman said it is extremely beneficial just to sit in hisbodidus even if one is unsuccessful to do anything then,[11] and ultimately one should be able to be in a state of hisbodidus even when surrounded by multitudes of people,[12] and even when interacting with them![13]
Rabbi Nachman said (Life of Our Leader Rabbi Nachman, article 107) that in his youth, every time he would return from doing hisbodidus the world looked completely new. This is also an aspect of mastery, because the heightened understanding gained over the world, is new acquisition and secures dominion over it in an even more elevated state (of the world).[14]
There were many great tzadikim who helped elevate their brethren, these tzadikim would imbue those they came in contact with or prayed for, with such holiness that they would uproot them from whatever evils they were caught up in, and immediately bring them to a holy paradigm of existence. Rabbi Nachman reserved such treatment for rectifying the souls of the dead, but for those still living he almost never circumvented their personal bechira (-point of free choice). The person himself would have to overcome and gain in his own personal growth, but Rabbi Nachman would help him in this very point of conflict.[15] Rabbi Nachman said that his entire affair is Rosh Hashana[16] (-New Years), and this is an aspect of knowing the place where everyone stands (because only one who knows where the other stands can judge him, as explained in Likutay Moharan), and thus Rabbainu knows how to help a person in that person’s place. This I believe is part of the secret of what Saba Yisroel Dov Odesser repeated over and over again in the name of Rabbainu: “I am Na Nach Nachma Nachman MayUman,” meaning that the “I,” a person’s true self and identity is rooted in Rabbainu, particularly in the new revelation of Rabbainu’s name Na Nach Nachma Nachman MayUman. This is why there can not be any explicit explanation and revelation of this secret, just as Rabbi Nachman wrote afterwards, “with the strengthening of devotion you will understand it.” This is similar to Rabbi Nachman’s reply when Rabbi Nussun asked him a very deep paradox as to the root of a person’s will (see The Life of Our Leader Rabbi Nachman, article 482), because the only way to understand it, is to be it.

This book has primarily two parts. The first part is a translation of the entry on hisbodidus from the holy book Likutay Aitzoas – A Collection of Remedies/Advice. Likutay Aitzoas presents the reader with succinct summations of the teachings of Rabbi Nachman in such a way that they can be readily and practically implemented. Rabbi Nachman himself commissioned Rabbi Nussun to compose it. Since the topic of hisbodidus earned an entire book dedicated to it – Outpouring of the Soul (Hishtapchus Hanefesh) where almost everything in this book is brought down, and often at greater length with greater clarification and elaboration, citations are provided for it along with the original sources.
The second part of the book are prayers pertaining hisbodidus taken from Likutay Tifeeloas (Collection of Prayers) authored by Rabbi Nussun based on the teachings of Likutay Moharan (Also composed at Rabbi Nachman’s bidding).

The Virtue of Saying Na Nach Nachma Nachman MayUman 66-72 (end at least for the time being)

HH

66
The Torah of Rabbainu, this is Messiah, and more and more and more, “A novelty such as I has never yet been in the world (The Life of Our Leader Rabbi Nachman 247).” We merited to hear the likes of this.

[Visitor: Rabbi Yisroel, What is the name of Messiah? What is the name of Messiah?] Ah? I don’t have strength to speak, let me be. [Visitor: Rabbi Yisroel, the name of Messiah is “Nachman”, or “Na Nach Nachma Nachman”?] “Na Nach Nachma Nachman MayUman.” [Visitor: This is the name of Messiah?] Yes, this is the name of Rabbainu, and all the tzadikim (-including the Messiah) are included in this name, all the Torah, and all the tzadikim, and all… and everything [Visitor: of all the generations?] all the generations.
(Tape 62a)

67
“Na Nach Nachma Nachman MayUman,” this (it) includes the creation of the whole world, and all the Torah and all the tzadikim, yes, in this is included all the Torah and all the tzadikim, and all the wonders, and all the wondrous lights, yes, this is already, Baruch Hashem, he is in this world, “Na Nach Nachma Nachman MayUman.”
(Tape 29b)

68
“Na Nach Nachma Nachman MayUman.” When they accompany/bring the groom and the bride from the chupa (-wedding canopy), they should sing this melody. [Visitor: Yes?] Yes! It will be so beautiful!
(Sichos Saba 25)

69
It will be everywhere, and in all the streets, everywhere they will sing, “Na Nach,” yes. A new song.
(Sichos Saba 25)

70
This is the melody that is new, this is (of/) Rabbainu’s on Rosh Hashana, “Hashem is King/reigns, Hashem reigned, Hashem will reign forever and ever (morning prayers and elsewhere),” this, this is it, this melody. So he informs: “Hashem is King/reigns, Hashem reigned, Hashem will reign forever and ever,” this is the melody. (Saba laughs).
(Sichos Saba 25)

71
[Visitor: Is this good for the nation of Israel to say or to sing this name, “Na Nach”?] Yes! Yes! Yes! [Visitor: This hastens the redemption, that they say or sing his name?]
Yes! Yes! Just that his name should be publicized in the whole world, and this is his name – “Na Nach,” this is the essence, this (it) includes in it the entire redemption, and all the salvations are included in this name. Because the fundamental is contingent on Rabbainu, yes, the main redemption, the essential coming of the Messiah is contingent on the drawing close to the tzadikim (-Sefer Hamidos – published as “Character” entry of Tzadik 151), that the world should know that there are such tzadikim, Rabbainu and his disciples, Rabbainu Hakadoash and his men, this (is) the main redemption is contingent upon, this is permissible to make known and to publicize to the entire nation of Israel, yes.

Until now it was not possible to speak of this, because the world did not want to draw close, but now, even now the way that we are, if we draw close to Rabbainu, Rabbi Nachman, then there will be… Messiah will come and there will be the redemption, and there will be such miracles and wonders that were never in history! Yes, more wonders/wondrous from the exodus from Egypt, and for all the miracles that are in the Torah[1]!

72
There will be a time that the whole world will sing “Na Nach,” yes, in all the market places, everywhere, wherever one goes, with melody, with “Na Nach,” because all the melodies go well with “Na Nach,” all the melodies (that are) in the world. (Saba laughs).
(Tape 77b)

King over Sadness

HH
A parable
Once there was a king who suffered many devastating losses and setbacks, yet he remained entirely upbeat and joyous. Some of his slaves including Sadness and Despair confronted him saying that his attitude was inappropriate. The king replied as long as you are my slaves I have no reason to be sad or despair and I will rejoice in my kingship.

Israel sold out by Obama on Hanuka?!

HH

How is it that specifically on the festival of Hanuka, Obama sells Israel out? Here's a possible factor.

It is apparent that the festival of Hanuka is on the days of the end and beginning of the month something unique to this holiday - aside from the New Years. Most of the holidays are on the middle of the month. On the middle of the month the moon is at its fullest, whereas at the beginning and end of the month it is at its smallest. The moon symbolizes the Kingdom of David. The miracle of Chanuka was brought about through Matisyahu Chashmoanay the High Priest and his sons - priests are the aspect of the first born, because originally the priesthood was the natural status of the firstborn. Therefore the holiday is celebrated around the first of the month. Our Sages revealed that because the Chashmoanain didn't give over the kingdom to the scions of David, they were ultimately wiped out completely, to the extent that if someone claims to be of the House of the Chashmoanain it must be that he is slave (Kedushin 70b). Therefore there is a bittersweet taste to Chanuka that the slave, the aspect of Obama infringes on the Kingdom of David.

This also gives us some insight into what Saba Yisroel revealed in Ebay Hanachal (Blossoms of the Springs, letters written to the President of Israel, Zalman Shazar; part 2:13) that through the power of the miracle of Chanuka we merit to draw the light of the truth, even in the utter blackness of the night, to nullify the exchange of the slave that was swapped with King's son (Legendary Tales of Ancient Times), that we should merit to clarify the truth of Hashem, to know whom is truly worthy of being called the name of the aspect of a slave's son, and whom is truly worthy of being called by the name of the king's son.

Now it is very clear that ultimate fulfillment of the miracle of Chanuka can only be accomplished with Na Nach Nachma Nachma Nachman MeUman!

Days of Thanksgiving

HH

Rabbainu revealed in Likutay Moharan (volume 2, Torah 2) that the days of Chanuka are days of praise and thanksgiving to HY. So take a little time to imagine what life was like 100 years ago in a rural village in Russia, and suddenly being visited by the Czar who bequeaths you with servants to provide you with whatever water you need - no more schlepping buckets, and now you have flowing water at your disposable - and hot and cold. Certainly you would make a little celebration feast. Imaging the Czar has an outhouse built right attached to your house - no more hiking out into fields to some disgusting etc. in the freezing cold... certainly you would make a little celebration feast. Imagine he has a tailor make comfortable clothings - you now have multiples sets of clothing and they fit well - certainly you would make a little celebration feast. Imagine the Czar bequeaths you with a little band to entertain you with whatever music you want to hear, whenever you want, certainly you would make a little celebration feast. Imaging that he has special lighting arranged in your house, a library, messengers at your beck and call.... these are just some of the amenities that we have today that in previous good times only monarchs had. In fact Rabbainu revealed in Likutay Moharan (Torah 56) that every person has his own little monarchy, some people more than others, but everyone has a little kingdom - and back then when they heard this from Rabbainu they understood it theoretically and took it more on faith, but today we also merited to actually see the actuality and reality of Rabbainu's Torahs. Many Breslovers had a commitment to dedicate at least a full half hour a day to singing and dancing. So now is a very good and opportune time to start appreciating and start praising and thanksgiving, celebrate the goodness, sing and dance Na Nach Nachma Nachman MeUman!

Make {for} Yourself A Rabbi

HH
There is no group which propounds the concept of the tzaddik more than Breslov. Rabbainu revealed that everything but everything is completely contingent on the tzaddik. So it is amazing that in the third Torah of Likutay Moharan, Rabbainu brings the famous dictum from Ethics of Our Fathers which commands, "Make for yourself a rabbi." This dictum is often prominently presented as the absolute proof that it is incumbent to have a rabbi, something that should be very welcome to Breslov, who argue that very point, that everyone must take Rabbainu as their Rebbe, so it is amazing that Rabbainu explains this dictum in the exact opposite, saying that the mishna is saying that, "make yourself a rabbi!" I.e. build your own identity, character, and personality (Malchus). This is a beautiful opening into understanding the true role and concept of the rabbi-tzaddik. Society loves rabbis, because they are part and parcel of the corrupt devolvement of humanity. A community hires a rabbi, offering him a salary, power, and prestige, and in return they are absolved of so much unwanted responsibility, now the rabbi will answer forthem all the questions they don't want to answer, whether it is what job to take, or whether or not to undergo surgery, and so forth. So they feed each other to mutual detriment, the rabbi is a sicko living for artificial honor and money, to cultivate a community in a way that they will never mature properly, and never confront themselves.
The real tzaddik is just the opposite, although he is definitely providing amazing support, he is totally not trying to live and decide the lives of others, on the contrary, he will give them even more responsibility. This what we see here in Torah 3, that the true Tzaddik, doesn't pounce on this dictum to assert and promote his hold over the people, but pushes it on the people to force them to get a grip on their lives and build their own reign. [This is similar to the story Rabbainu told of the guy who dreamed of a treasure buried under a far away bridge, upon going there he found out that it was in his own closet. The tzaddik is the bridge, a person has to come to the tzaddik to find his own self].
The messiah that people are always talking about is societies idea of some super grand contemporary rabbi who will tell them exactly what to do, every single question they have in life, when to get up, how much to sleep, what job to take, who to marry, everything he will answer for them and they will have such a wonderful carefree life of post Messianic era.... Even if the real Messiah would make his grand entrance into the world today the majority of the people would have the messiah relegated to this task GF, so how can he come?! Basically they want to remain immature children without any personality or character. Rabbainu says cone to me and I will give you even more problems and responsibility, and I will show you how to be king. The king is in the field, hisbodidus and music and all the advice and teachings of Na Nach that empower a person to rule for himself over his kingdom. This is in itself redemption, the Messiah will just cement the way.
