In Psalms 144, King David extols HY for teaching his hands to wage war and his fingers to battle.

לְדָוִ֨ד | בָּ֘ר֤וּךְ יְ-הוָ֨ה | צוּרִ֗י הַֽמְלַמֵּ֣ד יָדַ֣י לַקְרָ֑ב אֶ֝צְבְּעוֹתַ֗י לַמִּלְחָמָֽה

For hands the word he used for war (which some say is an Aramaic origin) "krav" - (recognized today by - krav maga), krav also means to get close to. For fingers he used a different word, this suggests that the war with the fingers is from further away. What was the significance of warring with the fingers, when in those days war demanding great physical might, fingers didn't really play a role in their own right.

There is an idiom that the pen in mightier than the sword, but usually we don't associate writing specifically to the fingers.

Kabalistically, we can say that the righteous warred like HY, as we find that HY gave the Egyptians the finger, by the plague of lice (Exodus 8:15). 

It is reasonable to explain that David was referring to future battles, as we find many references in Psalms to future times, which were said with Divine Inspiration. Hence we can interpret these skills of war of the fingers, to triggers - which just take one finger, or two ... keyboard warriors. Both these applications are fought from a further distance than typical war scenarios of early times, and are thus fitting for the descriptive word of war pointed out above.

Amazing Targum Yonasun on this weeks haftora Parshas Aikev, end of Isaiah 50. He says that the prophet says that in the end of times HY will ask the nations whom among them was G-d fearing and listened to the prophets and trusted in G-d and His salvation? To which the nations will answer we had no time to study the Torah because we were to busy waging war on each other, and when one side won they burned down the houses, took the children captive, and pillaged the other... - and their entire days were consumed just in this, so it was impossible for them to learn the Torah.

Know the Enemy

Imagine you are hit with an onslaught of lust which drives you to the edge, and then you discover that it is your itzy bitzy nerd neighbor who is doing voodoo and all types of black magic on you GF. You would no longer feel so helplessly overcome and inundated, you would take it in stride and you wouldn't allow yourself to be knocked out of control into the degradation of bodily desires simply because some imbecile wishes your downfall. To a certain decree many of our trials and tribulations are instigated by lowly evil spiritual forces that seek our detriment. Big tzadikim would be very aware of who and what was confronting them and would name them aloud and battle them precisely with holy incantations and so forth. This is something we can't even begin to do, even if we would get lucky here and there, that would just open us up GF to much worse GF. Even still we must bear this in mind, that lowliness of the forces seeking our downfall, seeking to slump us into depression, sin, and even self abuse GF, and to register this strong in our faculties that there is no reason why we should let such a lowly thing dominate us or issue us any inconveniences whatsoever. The prayer of the high priest Rabbi Yishmuel gives a few paragraphs of invective to put such lowly evil forces in their place. Ultimately however everything is exactly how HY wants it for us, so that we have free choice, and without Divine help and intervention we can not surmount the new attacks of the evil forces which charge us.

General Rectification of the World with Nanach.

This parable I came to from my understanding of what the Ramchal propounds in his awesome holy book Adir BaMurom.

If a deck of cards wired together falls and gets tangled in disarray, there are two ways to go about restoring their order. One would be to take each card individually and put it in it's proper place, the other would be to hold up the wire and all the cards will fall into their proper place.

The latter method we will call the Tikun Hakllali the general rectification.

When people are on missions to fix the wrongs of the world, they are very limited in times, funds, faculty, and so forth. Even if they would be completely successful in their endeavors, the ultimate results would be debatable.

Before I was Nanach I had all types of battles on all sides, against zionism, against the Yeshivos for not studying what is important, against wigs, against immodesty.... Every time I had some change I would immediately rush to make some sort of attack for some such worthy cause. Thank G-d for the intellect and humility to understand that there must be a holy tzaddik who desires much more than me all the necessary rectifications, and knows much better than me what they are and how to go about enacting them (Not so my mother's uncle, Noach Weinber ob"m who decided it was solely up to him to fix the world, and launched Ohr Sumaich, and Aish HaTorah, this is something I explained to him personally, may HY have mercy on his soul).

The Tzadik is very much at the helm of the ship -- Rabbainu Na Nach Nachma Nachman MeUman has full knowledge of what is going on and what has to be done. Anyone with any intellect, who really wants the good of the world, will put aside his or her own little petty notions and projects and fully embrace the ways of Rabbainu. In this way one gives more strength to the collective powers of Rabbainu to bring the complete general rectification of the whole world.
