The Virtue of Saying Na Nach Nachma Nachman MayUman - and the great level Rabbi Nachman attained

HH

10
(This article is not so relevant to the subject matter)

I heard in his (Rabbi Nachman’s) name that he said, that he attained “yecheeduh[1]” (-the 5th and highest level of the soul) in its utmost supernal level[2]. Because it is known that the “nefesh[3]” (lowest level of the soul) of the “neshumuh[4]” (3rd level) is higher than the “yecheeduh” of the “ruach[5]” (-the second level of the soul), and similarly with all of them[6]; and he attained “yecheeduh” in its utmost supernal level (-yecheeduh of yecheeduh)[7]. And he said: “It comes out, that I know ‘a little’, and I stand on a lofty level, nevertheless I still want more, because who knows, perhaps there is yet ‘higher above higher (Ecclesiastes 5:7)’ until no end (-infinitely) etc. etc..
(The Life of Our Leader Rabbi Nachman 267)

Once, he lifted his hands until his shoulders and he lowered them from his shoulders downwards, and he said, “All the tzadikim are by me from here to here,” that is, from his shoulders down[8], and afterwards he lifted his hand(s) above his head and lowered them from there close to his head until his shoulders, and he, “and I am from here till (here),” that is, from the head until the shoulders, and the matter is primal/esoteric. And look in the writings of the Arizal, and comprehend (this), if you have the mental faculty (“eyes) to understand from there[9] the greatness of man when he merits to do the will of his Creator until he completes the tzelem Elokeem (-image of Gd) perfectly.
(The Life of Our Leader Rabbi Nachman 266).

11
He (Rabbi Nachman) said: I will sing a song of the future which will be the Oalum Habuh (-future world, reward) of all the tzadikim and chasidim (-pious).

Na Nach Nachma Nachman MayUman!

[1] “Yecheeduh” literally means single, sole, solitary, because this part of the soul is completely one with the One G-d.
[2] Every soul has five general levels, and each level as well has these five levels on its own scale.
[3] The “nefesh” resides in the liver and blood, as it is the life force of the body.
[4] “Neshumuh” resides in brain and intellect, and it is the highest level of the regular levels of the soul, because the two above it are “makeefeem” - peripheries. Neshumuh has the same root as breath, for it is like a breath directly from the mouth of G-d so to speak.
[5] “Ruach” means spirit, and it resides in the heart, and fluctuates between the lower nefesh and the higher neshumuh, hence the name – ruach-spirit.
[6] Every level of the 5 levels of the soul, also has five levels, and the highest level of each level is still lower than the lowest level of the level above it.
[7] This is a very enigmatic revelation, because according to the Arizal, even the Messiah will only attain such a level after the complete redemption, and according to the Zohar, were such a high level of the soul to be in the world, it would dramatically change the entire world. Therefore great Kabbalists admitted they didn’t understand what Rabbi Nachman meant, and we take his words on faith until we merit to understand them.
[8] See Samuel 1:9:2, and see Tractate Niddah end of 24b.
[9] The difference between the head and the rest of the body is enormous, for all thought and intelligence is almost exclusively in the head, as well as all of the senses other than touch.

The Virtue of Saying Na Nach Nachma Nachman MayUman 5-9

HH

5
For in reality the mentioning of the names of the tzadikim is a very, very wondrous and awesome matter, and is extremely beneficial for the devotion of Hashem Yisburach.
(Yimay Moharnat – The Days of Our Teacher Rabbi Nussun 17).

6
The virtue of mentioning their names is unfathomable, and it would consume many folios to explain some of the immeasurable good virtues/benefits/advancements which are produced/grow from this.
(Shaimoas Hatzadikim – The Names of the Tzadikim)

7
And this is the aspect of the virtue of mentioning the names of the tzadikim, because in the holy name of each and every tzadik, (in it) is included the entire nature/essence of the tzadik, all of his righteousness, and his Torah, and his good deeds, and all of his virtues and his (spiritual) levels, because the name is his nefesh (-lower soul) and his neshama (-higher soul) as explained above. And therefore through mentioning the name of the tzadik we draw upon ourselves his holiness and his merit, and through this we as well will merit to holiness, and purity, and to return to Him blessed He. For example, when we mention the name of the Tana[1] Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai, in this name is included all the deeds of this Tana, that he was in the cave for thirteen years and authored the book of the Zohar, and all the stories which are related of him, all of them are included in this holy name – Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai. And similarly with the other names of the tzadikim.
(Likutay Halachos, Orach Chaim 2, Things that are practiced at a meal 4:6)

8
Through mentioning the names of the tzadikim the power of their ruach hakoadesh (-Divine Inspiration) is aroused, and faith in the inception (-new creation) of the world is drawn into the world, through which there is drawn a radiance from the future renewal of the world which will be through this as mentioned above, through which the world will be conducted in the aspect of providence (-hashgacha) and supernatural wonders.
(Likutay Halachos, Orach Chaim 2, Washing Hands for a Meal 4:6).

9
In the future there will be aroused a new song of the aspect of the wondrous, the aspect of providence (-hashgacha), because then there will be an administration/policy solely by means of providence (-hashgacha, i.e. there will be no apparent randomness or natural course of events). And this new song which will be aroused in the future is the aspect of a song which is pashoot (-simple, single), kufool (-double), mishoolush (-triple, triangular), miroovuh (-fourfold, square/d), which amount to 72 (Eyen Bais. Y, Y”H, Y”HV, Y”HVH = 10, 15, 21, 26 = 72), the aspect of kindness (-chessed = 72), through which there will be a renewal of the world in the future, the aspect of (Psalms 89:3), “the world is/will be created with kindness <chessed>.[2]

And know my brother, the reader, that in the matter of the new song which will arouse in the future which is explained in this discourse[3], which is the aspect of the call which waters the Garden where all the fragrances and fears grow, which is the aspect of the call of the worthy rebuker who increases and gives pleasant fragrance in the souls of Israel who hear his rebuke, which is the aspect of Messiah, the aspect of (Genesis 49:15), “and he became a taxed worker,[4]” see there. There is in all this very deep and lofty secrets, secrets of secrets, esoterics of esoterics, very awesome, as could be understood from his (-Rabbi Nachman’s) holy motions when he mentioned the verse (Ruth 4:14), “Blessed is G-d who did not withhold from you a redeemer etc..” For I heard that from his holy motions, of blessed memory, then, and from the pleasantness of the voice and melody that he said this verse, it appeared as though he himself as well was giving praise and thanks to Hashem Yisburach for giving them such a redeemer to engage in the rectification and the redemption of their souls and in the drawing forth of the spirit of Messiah through the drawing forth of such wondrous and awesome rectifications. And (it was) then, on this Rosh Hashana, he related the matter of the melody and the song that will be the Oalum Habuh (-Future World, reward) of all the tzadikim and chasidim (-pious), as is explained elsewhere.[5] And it was understood that this (song which would be the reward of the righteous) is pertinent to the new song which is explained in this discourse.
(The Life of Our Leader Rabbi Nachman 43).

Na Nach Nachma Nachman MayUman!

[1] Sage of the Mishna.
[2] The entire verse is relevant: “For I have said, a/the world is/will be created with kindness [alternatively: a world of kindness will be created], (in the) Heavens, (you) establish Your faith in them.”
[3] Likutay Moharan volume 2 Torah 8.
[4] Rabbi Nachman revealed (article 10) that “taxed <li-mass>” is like the Hebrew word for rubbing, which is done to bring out the fragrance, and “worker <oavaid>,” is a reference to Oavaid who is mentioned in the end of the Book of Ruth as a scion in the royal lineage of the House of David. The previous verse and the beginning of this verse further allude to the different aspects and steps of this awesome discourse, as revealed by Rabbi Nachman there.

Shame on You!

HH

Everyone knows that we don't live forever, and after we pass away we are assessed to see where is most appropriate for us to continue. Obviously this is very intense, to have our lives presented for inspection, and so we think that how shameful can it be, after all we are human and the truth of G-d is very hidden, and we had our own struggles day in and day out, so maybe we could have done a little better, or even a lot better, but that's life.

Wrong. In the future world, the truth of G-d is going to be so crystal clear, it is in fact the utter reality, nothing else, and we are going to see how the Torah was literally staring at us in our face and heart, and was never distant from us, not even the breadth of hair. The solution that we needed was not complicated at all, it was right there in front of us. What were we thinking?! The shame is going to be overwhelming G"F.

Rabbainu laughed at all the big scientists and philosophers, he said, let's see their reaction if one dead person would be allowed to come down between them, and they'd see how he would pray and pray….

Great blessings of Na Nach Nachma Nachman MeUman!

How low can you go?

HH

Some people have a real hard time in this world, it just isn't worth it to them, they even contemplate suicide G"F. This is nothing for the tzaddik. The tzaddik has absolutely no enjoyment or benefit from this world, the tzaddik begins his sorrows when he ceases to even be able to project for himself a future world. Rabbainu says that a Jew only begins to enter the devotion of G-d when he reaches this state -- not having any portion what so ever, at which point the person takes upon himself the service of HY for this alone, for the glorification of HY, without having any thoughts of personal benefit or promotion. This is where it all begins!

Be Smart Don't Work

Now it is very misappropriate to say that Na Nachs have a philosophy, because that word is a no no, however this is probably as close as your going to get.
Everyone knows Rabbi Nachman always stresses that the amount of work a person does is considered folly as the Zohar says shutu huam etc. etc. Here I just want to share with you a Gemura that we learned yesterday in Chok Liyisroel (Pikuday, Monday, Miseches Shabos 153): Even King Solomon said in his wisdom (koheles 9) at all times your clothes should be white and the oil on your head should not be withheld, Rabbi Yochanan Ben Zakai said a parable to a king who invited his servants to a party and didn't set a time, the intelligent ones adorned themselves and sat at the entrance of the house of the king, they said: is there anything lacking at the kings house. The foolish ones went to their work, they said: is it possible to have a party without toil. Suddenly the king requested his servants, the intelligent ones entered before him, adorned. The foolish ones entered before him as they were - dirty. The king greeted the intelligent with rejoicing, and the foolish with anger. He said these that adorned themselves for the party will sit and eat and drink, these that did not adorn themselves for the party will stand and observe. The soninlaw of Rabbi Meir said in the name of Rabbi Meir, even then they appear to be helping out, the correct version is that both will sit, these will eat and these will starve, these will drink and these will thirst, as it says in the Issiah (65) So says Hashem Behold my servants will eat and you will starve, behold my servants will drink and you will thirst, behold my servants will rejoice from good heart and you will scream from heart pain.
The last words I'm sure will be greatly appreciated by Dun and others.
Keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!!
NA NACH NACHMU NACHMUN MAyUMAN
