The right balance to introduce HY into your life

HH

Rabbainu made a big revelation in the beginning of the second volume of Likutay Moharan. The holiness of the Temple is not because HY constricted Himself to be there, rather since the temple is so beautiful and magnificent, HY extends holiness there. The difference here is extremely profound to the way we live our lives.
Man is created in the image and design of the Temple, and the big question is how he will merit to have HY preside-reign-pervade in and over his little Temple. There is one school of thought held by the scholarly, that almost rules out any real association of a person to the Divine Presence. They do not G-d forbid deny that G-d dwells in the world and that good deeds and Torah learning earn His attention and companionship, but they see this relationship as something beyond a person’s grasp to actually work on it directly, it is something that they consider a Divine consideration not something mere humans can understand, whomever or wherever HY deems worthy for reasons and considerations only He can fathom, there He will be.
The Baal Shem Tov came to dispel such despair, self-abasement, and false humility. The Baal Shem Tov crusaded to make known that even the most distant and alienated person can and should have a very intimate relationship with HY, and can very readily merit to have HY preside over his life, fully interacting with him in all his affairs.
Rabbainu revelation here cements the foundations for a person to be a Temple mamash. As long as people are mistaken to believe that the Temple held a special constriction of HY, then it is certainly out of reach, sure we must believe and do what we can to do His Will and only His Will, but we have no real connection to Him, for HY is completely above any paradigm of His creation, and according to this mistaken opinion that the Temple is a special constriction, that means that the only special connection one can have with HY, is for HY to make a special constriction for Him, and who can merit to such a thing? So this school of thought does their best to trek through life, doing the mitzvos and Torah as best as they can, hoping that they are fulfilling the Divine Desire, and that they will merit to ultimately be with HY. However, in truth, the Temple is not a special constriction of HY, for HY constricted Himself to be the very space of all creation, and the Temple exists in this space, and only because of its beauty, its special design and configuration that HY revealed in the Torah, because of this magnificence HY draws extra special holiness to preside-reign-pervade there. Knowing this a person can understand that the more he grooms himself, fixing his character and his fulfillment of the Torah and mitzvos, the more he will merit directly to draw extra special attention and holiness from HY.

May we merit, in the merit of Na Nach Nachma Nachman MayUman!

Blossoms of the Spring - Letter 8

Letter 8

BH Thursday, the tenth Chag Hu-atzmu-ut[1] (Independence Day), 718 (24 April, 1958), Tiberius.
In honor of the delight of my heart, the pleasant Mr. Z. Shazar, Shalom and light in abundance from the great eagle, he shall hover above him every day, always, for length of days.

I am hereby sending him by heartfelt blessing for the tenth Holiday of Independence. Baruch <Blessed…> shehecheyunoo <Who has given us life> viheegeyunoo <and Who has brought us> lazman hazeh <to this time>, she-usuh <Who has performed> lunoo <for us> neeseem <miracles> revealed before the eyes of the whole world, and concealed miracles which are hidden from our knowledge – so may we merit to the complete redemption through the revelation of the holy daas (realization of knowledge) of the true tzadik, N'N'M'C' [Nachal Noavaya Mikor Chuchmu – stream gushing source of wisdom – acronym NaChMaN], may his merit protect us, amen.

Through the holiness of the Land of Israel one merits to know of the true tzadik, and the truth will be revealed in the world, and through this all are returning to Hashem Yisburach, even the nations of the world, 'to serve Him with one accord (Tzefania 3:9),' (Likutay Aitzoas, Land of Israel 8, from Likutay Moharan 48), and according to what one merits to be bound and included in/with the true tzadik, so too he merits to inheritance of the Land of Israel (Likutay Halachos, Orach Chaim 1, Prayer 3:2). The Land of Israel is the general collective holiness of all holiness, and there one merits to get out of the realm of the natural, and to know and to believe that everything is by Divine Providence alone, this being the general collective of holiness (Likutay Moharan 234). The Land of Israel receives her holiness from the tzadik who has by him all the blessing and bounty (Likutay Halachos, Orach Chaim 2, Laws of Grace After Meals and Ma-yim Acharoanim 4:16).

If a person would truly believe in the holiness of the Land of Israel, one fraction of thousands of thousands of what it is in fact – certainly he would run and fly to the Land of Israel with all his strength, and there wouldn't be any obstacle that would prevent him (Likutay Halachos, Orach Chaim 2, Blessing On Fruit 4:4). Every one of (the Children of) Israel has some portion in the Land of Israel; and there is our life, there is our holiness, there is our house, there is our land, there is our ground, there is our portion, there is our lot. And outside of the Land we live "like a guest set aside to sleep the night (Jeremiah 14:8)," who flounder in public outdoors, and in the marketplaces, and in the streets, because this is not our land and our portion whatsoever. And therefore it (-everywhere outside of Israel) is called "'chutz <outside>' lu-uretz <of the Land>," precisely "chutz," because we stand outside, mamash (-actually) outside, and there is no man to gather us and take us home, until we come upon the holy ground.

In merit of the Torah which the tzadik draws, one merits to the Land of Israel (See Likutay Moharan 20; Likutay Aitzoas, Land of Israel 4). Through living (settled) in the Land of Israel one attains conception of the Divine Providence of Hashem Yisburach over the world (Character – The Aleph Bet Book of the Traits, Israel 2:1).

Wherever the men of our persuasion (-Breslov Hasidim) gather, it is befitting to travel from all ends of the world to stick one's head between them (Beyur Halikutim ha-yashun, brought in Siach Sarfay Kodes 1-662). If (-even though) there has become of us what has become, "we have an old father (Genesis 44:20)," and we are confident (/assured) in/by his great power, for it is spectacular. "Do not believe in yourself[2] (Ethics of Our Father 2:4)," specifically "in yourself," because when one is just himself, certainly he should not believe in himself, because he will fall with no support. However, he who attaches himself to the true tzadik, he is guaranteed (safe) from pitfall and falling, because the Torah of the true Rebbe will lead him in this world, and in the grave, and at the time or resurrection for eternity (Likutay Halachos, Yoreh Daya 1, Meat with Milk 5:8, 29).

The essential skill and deep wisdom of the extremely great true tzadik (is) that he knows how to cloak his lofty wisdom in many many garments until he can bring it down and impart it to the very lowly, when they merit to draw close to him, until they too will merit conception of the Divine ("hasugas Elokus"), which is the main true life, eternal life (Likutay Halachos, Yoreh Daya 1, Meat with Milk 5:27). Even in the brunt of this exile, we will merit to get out of all the impurities, and to ascend to all the holiness, until we merit to conception of the Divine through the great power of the true tzadik.

The world is full of immeasurable screaming and groaning, and everyone is screaming "money," and each one screams in different (/strange) shouts as if he is more deficient than the entire world, until their souls just about depart from their deep bitterness. And the essential vitality is received from the "tzadik who is the foundation of the world (Proverbs 10:25)" who sweetens all the time the bitterness of the world, and through him one mitigates from himself the bitterness with extra sweetening, and every one, according to his proximity to the tzadik, and according to his faith in him – so too his bitterness is sweetened (Ullim Litrufah – Letters of Rabbi Nussun, 59).

To be continued soon. With heartfelt wishes of well-being.

Yisroel Dov Odesser - Tiberius

[1] Israel Independence Day that year was moved up a day earlier to the 4th of Eyar.
[2] This is seemingly problematic, because Rabbi Nachman was emphatic that a person must definitely believe in himself.

Sanctuary

HH

Sanctuary

Our sages revealed how Rome was created from a single reed planted in the Ocean upon King Solomon's forbidden marriage to the daughter of Pharaoh – the symbol of external wisdom (Likutay Moharan 35), and this reed collected upon itself more and more such gook, of sciences and philosophy, until the island formed. If such is true of impurity, then holiness infinitely more so has this power to create and build an entire stature of holiness from just a single good point, as Rabbainu revealed in his famous teaching “Azamra” (Likutay Moharan 282).
Rabbainu revealed the highest secrets on the Talmudic lore of Rabba Bar Bar Channa, of those that go down – setting off to sea. These fantastic legends the Vilna Gaon says are reflections of the crazy things a person sees in his lifetime – each and everyone knows for himself some crazy wild stuff that happened to him or that he witnessed – often there are things we can't even share with anyone, and that is why we respect even an elder gentile – because the experience of life in so many years ascertains that this person has witnessed and been a part of stuff we have just barely glimpsed and may no nothing of and wouldn't even dream could happen, certainly not to us ourselves.
In this ocean which is our life, we need to find sanctuary – a strong foothold, where we have a firm grip on ourselves, where we are anchored and can take hold of our lives, take stock of what has transpired and plan for the future. This is the gift of hisbodidus that Rabbainu bequeathed to the world. Establishing that everyone must make a set time and place every day to check in, and anchor. From this one little point of the day, a person can collect upon himself more and more good points, until he is already floating a firm island, and dominating the entire day in holiness.
Rabbainu said that this hisbodidus should be in the wild, in a place where no one goes, and at midnight, at a time when the air is pure of the invading thoughts of the world. A person needs to build his anchor on solid firm ground. But most people have despaired of actually fulfilling this, as their daily storms they weather make it seem to them impossible to actually break away even just for a bit to such a solid firm place. So Rabbi Nussun asked Rabbainu (Words of Rabbi Nachman 279) what can when do when the bad is simply too overpowering?! Rabbainu answered that in such a case one has to shut down, one closes his eyes and mouth, and shuts down. If a person can't make it out of the storm, he must make his stand right where he is, and buckle down. He must close his eyes and mouth, he should also plug his ears up with good kosher music (one should have a playlist prepared, and whatever other preparations), and reach out to HY with all his heart and soul, from right there and then. This is a person's SANCTUARY. This experience should be such a relief and a point of hope for the person that he looks forward to it all day. In this way a person also gains the strength to weather out all the craziness that may engulf him, knowing that soon he will just close up and enter his SANCTUARY and find relief and ecstasy with HY. Slowly he can extend the time period of his daily SANCTUARY, and even make a second time in the day as a SANCTUARY, until he can slowly completely take a hold of even the events that take place outside of his SANCTUARY, finding how to deal with them from his safe spot, from where he knows how to control and direct, he can start to deal with his daily challenges. First and foremost he will be able to begin to pray the set daily prayers with his new found personal domination, and thus he will gain new SANCTUARY islands in the day, and build up his kingdom. Until eventually he will reign B”H over the whole day.

Daas - Realization of Knowledge

HH

Previously I've given some insight into this, here's another parable.

A kid walks into a room full of people armed with a loaded machine gun. Everyone present sees. They all know very well what they see. Only one person, yells GEVALD! and dashes over and jumps the kid and disarms him.

Many people will readily acknowledge that there is One G-d who created the whole world and runs every detail, yet they conduct themselves and carry on their lives with very very little inculcation of this knowledge.

Only the holy followers of Na Nach Nachma Nachman MeUman, are shouting GEVALD! Na Nach Nachma Nachman MeUman!!! There is ONE G-D!!!! There is Rabbainu!!!! There is Torah! There are mitzvos!!!! GEVALD!!! Na Nach Nachma Nachman MeUman!!!

And they can't get past that. As soon as they try to move on, and get involved in some worldly affair, whether it is making a livelihood or passing entertainment, they are constantly catching themselves with the sheer magnitude of the realization: GEVALD!!! There is One G-d! There is Na Nach Nachma Nachman MeUman!

Indifference and apathy

HH

Many today suffer from complete lack of will; complete indifference and apathy, they feel that G"F life is overated and can't find resolve to pursue even the truth they know to be absolute. So know this: the indifference and apathy is itself the house of the Divine Presence. If a person suffers from apathy - in today's times, chances are that he his mamash - in actuality - standing right alongside the Divine Presence!

This I learned from the first Story of Rabbi Nachman of Ancient Times - The Lost Princess, where the King slipped and said that the No Good should take his daughter, and after years of searching the second to the king found her in a very beautiful castle, which was set up with precision, and laden with all amenities. The question is why is this castle considered the place of No Good? Someone by the name of Freid explained that it is because there is no desire and will there. The viceroy had been searching ardently for years, and when he finds her in this castle, he is not moved at all, he eats and goes to sleep! From this we learn that the Divine Presence is hidden in a facade of utter apathy!

Only with Rabbainu

HH
You should know by now that when a person learns Rabbainu's Torah he sees in it many allusions to what is going on in his life, Rabbainu himself bragged about this. So as I learn Lkm Torah 31 which discusses how Acher went into the Pardes and became a apostate - - and our sages revealed that this was because he used to listen to Greek music -- I found it very interesting when a woman on fb asked me if I appreciate her Greek music... NO SIRRY!!!

B"H there are many other things going on that I can also correlate, but I can't write it all.

Vacation and Bounderies

HH
It seems to me that many people who have been brought up with strict rules of morality are sometimes the quickest to fall into the most base and abhorrent standing. This is because once they see that they have breached and fallen their high standards they no longer hold themselves to any standard whatsoever, they do not differentiate any further, and fall prey to the lowest standards. This was also what happened with the Golden Calf. Right after Israel received the Torah they fell all the way to idolatry.

Rabbi Nachman warns in Likutay Moharan, Torah 31, that when one suffers a fall in his state of devotion he should not bolster himself with erudition, but just with loyalty of his covenant with G-d.

In Torah 78, of Likutay Moharan vol II, Rabbi Nachman reveals that even the greatest tzadik will have times that he can not draw his life source through the holy Torah, at such times the tzadik will be "prostik" -- simple (this word insinuates even coarseness, friends refer to it as urban language "plastic"), his existence based on Derech Eretz which preceded the giving of the Torah. In this way the tzaddik draws life to all the people in the world who are unable to draw life from the Torah itself. Derech Eretz is the way of Na Nach Nachma Nachman MeUman, it is based on the absolute faith in G-d and His infinite mercy which is embedded in the world, as it compromises the living blueprint of the world - the Ten Sayings which are paralleled in the Ten Commandments and Ten Sefirot.

As a captive to pirates, on his return to Russia from Israel, Rabbi Nachman achieved the realization and know-how of how to serve G-d completely even if he would be sold into slavery.

Any person wherever and whatever predicament they might be in, can bind themselves to Rabbainu, Na Nach Nachma Nachman MeUman, and set a constructive course and life plan. It is not all or nothing, every little bit is eternal, and even in the finite, will be a building block which will B"H ultimately be helpful in reversing everything to the best.

giving electricity to Gaza even as they use it against us -- נותנים חשמל לאויב בעוד שהם משמשים בו ללחום איתנו

ב"ה

HH

In the holy book Tomer Devora, the holy Rama"k explains the Divine Attributes of the Crown (Keter) as they are distinguished in the beard (yes -- it is very worthwhile to cultivate a healthy beard!) --- the first attribute he explains is how G-d gives people their life and energy even as they use it to sin against him -- the full text is quoted above.
So for whatever reason Israel has chosen to act this way -- giving the enemy life and energy even as the enemy uses it against them -- even if this decision is completely erroneous and due to the evils of politicians or whatnot, the fact of the matter is that Israel is conducting according the highest of the Divine Attributes, and for this the Jews will undoubtedly merit to over abundance of light and inspiration of Na Nach Nachma Nachman MeUman!

Remember there is no Rebbe other than Rabbainu!!!!
