Real Kindness

HH

The Baal Shem Tov made it known that there is nothing greater than doing even a little favor for someone, and when Rabbainu once spoke about the greatness of the mitzva of hospitality, and his daughter asked him how it was possible to fulfill it, he answered, “What do you think? There’s a guest! A little more tablecloth… another piece of challa…” (Siach Sarfay Kodesh 2:97, and see Bi’air Mayim Chaim, Va’yairu 18:8 cited there). However, don’t think for a moment that this was the entire enterprise of our forefather Abraham and the other holy tzadikim. Rabbainu revealed in Likutay Moharan (Torah-teaching 31) that all charity and kindness is deficient, and is only complete with the essential foundation of faith which is the underlying main factor in the importance of charity. And in Torah-teaching 53 Rabbainu revealed that the reason why the holy tzadikim were so busy running after people to return them to the faith, was to complete and perfect their da’as (holy realization of knowledge), see there. So although it is in fact true that Abraham was very busy doting on his guests and doing his utmost to pamper them, that was a very superficial aspect of what he was really doing. The Zohar revealed that every guest that came his way, immediately he began to pray for them and set out to purify them and rectify them. As soon as they walked into Abrahams property, if they were impure, the ground would split apart from beneath them and they would fall directly into a mikva, and Abraham would commence praying and working to rectify them. This is the real kindness and charity, this is the way of the holy faith.

Nanach on the Torah - Parshas VaYairuh - This weeks Torah Portion - References to all the original teachings of Rabbi Nachman of Breslov and his students

Torah Portion of Va-yairu – פרשת וירא – And (Hashem) appeared (to Abraham)

And Hashem appeared to him (-Abraham) in Ailoanay (-plains of) Mamray and he was sitting at the entrance of the tent in the heat of the day.

Whoever has mercy on himself, even when the evil realm overwhelms him and seeks to cast him away, he will not relent and will continue to situate himself at the entrance of holiness until he is given to enter

Likutay Halachos, Laws of Eeshoos (matrimony) 4:19

And I will take a loaf of bread and feast your hearts.

Father Abraham gave them to eat in order that the angels should see what a person contends with in this world, and thus they will not have an opening to litigate against him receiving the Torah

Likutay Halachos, Laws of Breaking Bread 5:49

Because I know him because he commands his sons etc. to do charity and justice.

This verse is adjacent to the matter of Sodom, because the power to nullify edicts with prayer is by virtue of charity and justice

Likutay Halachos, Laws of Gifts 5:29

And Avrohom arose early in the morning to the place where he stood there (in devoted prayer before) the countenance of Hashem.

That which Abraham established the morning prayer of Shacharis was a reformation for the whole world, because even before him they were already praying

Likutay Halachos, Laws of Mincha (afternoon prayer) 7:82

_____________

Abraham constituted the morning prayer of Shacharis, for the main glory of HY is from beseeching, even more than praising, because the beseeching publicize Hashem's Providence over creation changing nature according to what is requested from Him

Likutay Halachos, Laws of the Prayer of Mincha (afternoon) 6

Also I know that with the innocence of your heart you did this etc..

The real truth is only when a person is free of all bodily desires, otherwise one's truth is to know that he is far from the truth

This is what HY told Avimelech

Likutay Halachos, Laws of Interest 5:34

And Sara said laughter G-d has made for me.

The laughter with the birth of Isaac was from the enormous joy in all the world from his holy birthplace

This is the aspect of the great rejoicing at a wedding

Likutay Halachos, Laws of Shabbos 6:23

And Gd tested Abraham.

What was the challenge of the test if HY told him straight out what to do? Only, it was his not harboring wrongful suspicions pertaining His Measures and he did His Will without understanding, this was the main challenge of the test

Likutay Halachos, Laws of Gifts 5:47

Take now (/please) your son, your only child etc..

The main construct of the Akaida (test of binding Isaac) is the yearning and longing for the Will of HY

By virtue of their withstanding the test it is ingrained in the nature of our souls to be willing to die for the sanctification of Hashem

Likutay Halachos, Laws of Craftsmen 4:10

And he (Abraham) saw the place from afar.

Even when one draws close to HY it is necessary to know that he is still distant

Abraham saw the future salvation, but only from afar

So it is always in every generation, in general and in particular

Through this one can hold up no matter what transpires to him

Likutay Halachos, Laws of Sending Away from a Nest 5

And Abraham called the name of that place (in prayer that) Hashem <Yeereh> Will See (fit to choose it) etc..

Abraham saw the salvation, but only from afar so that he couldn't figure it out, he had just to believe and wait for it and not to act prematurely (doachaik <press, pressure> hashu'a <the hour – the time>)

Likutay Halachos, Laws of Gifts 5:47

Na Nach on the Torah - Parshas Lech Lichuh - references to all the original Breslov Teachings of Rabbi Nachman and his students on the Weekly Torah Portion

Lech Lichu – לך לך – Go for your own sake

Go for you own sake from your land etc..

Go for your own sake from your land and from your birthplace and from the house of your father.

Go to yourself, to your point of truth unrelated and not influenced by others

Even from good people there are impediments and disruptions on your own truth

Likutay Halachos, Laws of Ginayva (theft) 5:7

Go for your own sake, from your land, and from your birthplace etc..

Go for you own sake, from your land, and from your birthplace, and from the house of your father.

The matter of Avrohom's travels transpires over everyone, because it is necessary to undergo untold tests, and refining, and highs and lows, and it is necessary to withstand all of them, and a person is not given any foreknowledge of the test

The main challenge of the test is not knowing what one will merit if he withstands it

Likutay Halachos, Laws of Shabbos 7:75

To the land which I will show you.

HY did not reveal to Avrohom where to go, in order that he should yearn more and more, because this is the main thing, to have great yearning for holiness

Likutay Halachos, Laws of Washing Hands for a Meal 6:106

______________

The main challenge of a test is it's not being revealed, and one has to seek out the desire of HY

Likutay Halachos, Laws of Falling on one's Face (tachanoon) 6:8

____________

Before coming to the Land of Israel which is the highest maturity of consciousness, it is necessary to descend to extreme littleness

Life of Our Leader Rabbi Nachman, articles 139 & 140.

And Lot went with him.

The darkness always follows the tzadikim and they need to cull the truth from the darkness

Finding the good in everyone

Therefore Abraham made converts, because he leaned towards kindness and found a good point in each one, and through this he drew everyone close to Hashem Yisburach.

Likutay Halachos, Laws of Waking Up Early In The Morning 1:5, based on Likutay Moharan, Torah 282)

_____________

Through the charity and kindness of Abraham, he made a calm atmosphere through which the call of holiness can reach and rescue the good vanquished by the evil and with that come along converts

Abraham engaged in drawing the multitudes to The Faith, and he authored books on this, and so did Isaac and Jacob

_____________

This is an aspect of Yaakov's studying Torah for 14 years and composing holy books on faith

Likutay Halachos, Laws of Rosh Chodesh (First of the Month) 6:45

And there was a famine in the land, and Avram went down to Egypt to live there because the famine was severe in the land.

Why did Father Abraham need to leave the Holy Land after he arrived there as he was commanded

Likutay Halachos, Laws of the Prayer of Arvis (night) 4:32

And the woman was taken to the house of Pharaoh.

Sara was taken to such a place in order so that from such a place of impurity she would seek and find Hashem Yisburach, and through this she would prepare and establish a way and foundation for all of Israel afterwards to be able to persevere there

Likutay Halachos, Laws of Falling on the Face (tachanoon) 6

___________

The Kingdom of Evil usurped over Sara and Esther to its utter detriment

Likutay Halachos, Laws of Tefillin 6:26

And Avram was very laden with livestock, with silver, and with gold.

Likutay Halachos, Laws of Thanksgiving 6:15

And he (Abraham) went on his journeys.

Borrowing comes from a person thinking that it is presently bad for him and he is deficient

Since he already fell into loans it is hard to get out of them

That which Abraham came to borrowing was a descent for the sake of ascent which a tzadik must undergo

Likutay Halachos, Laws of Loans 5

And Avram called out there in the Name of Hashem.

It is a segula (propitious) to read this Torah portion to chase away the impure spirit (Sefer Hamidos - Character - Klipa 10).

And the land was corrupt/destroyed before the G-d and the land was full of extortion/theft.

The defect of stealing and the defect of the bris (circumcision) are contingent upon each other, and through their stealing they came to defect the bris

Likutay Halachos, Laws of Judges 5

Go, you and all your household to the ark.

What caused the fires?!

HH

Everything that happens has myriads of reasons, which are not mutually exclusive, on the contrary, each one is a bonafide correct cause for its own level and paradigm. E.g. regarding the holocaust, many people have faulted the assimilation and secularization of the Jews, others are very insistent that it was because of the talking idle chatter in the synagogues, and the Kabalists are certain that it was because the main study of Kabala was very forsaken - each group on their level had their trigger that they fueled and brought upon themselves this calamity. The most inner reason of the Holocaust we know, Saba revealed, was because of the persecution of the Breslover Chasidim in general - but in particular the pain that was caused to R' Yisroel Karduner (-as I've pointed out elsewhere that the Ishbitzer wrote that when Abraham had one thought not to chase after the 4 Kings - from this thought alone were created the 2,400,000 souls that didn't want to leave Egypt and died in the Plague of Darkness - thus we see that one thought of a true tzaddik can cause a real holocaust of millions of people R"L, and here they caused R' Yisroel Karduner - one of the 36 hidden tzaddikim, not one thought but many many many torments, and they tried to kill him, and ripped out part of his beard etc., so we can understand where Saba was coming from).

Similarly with the recent fires in Israel, many are saying that it was to obliterate the money of idolatry (as written in Sefer Hamidos), and many are saying it was because of the mockery of justice in the issue of berland a convicted rapist and extortionist who used his status as a rabbi and cult leader to commit atrocities and was sentenced to a mere few months (as written in Sefer Hamidos, that through laitzunus come fires R"L), and so forth other reasons were given. However the main inner reason seems to be that perhaps there was one or few less recitals of the holy song of redemption which is the name of Rabbainu: Na Nach Nachma Nachman MeUman! Each and every time one says Na Nach Nachma Nachman MeUman he/she effects a renewal of the entire world!

Torah Portion of Lech Licha -- How Good Were the Bad Kings

HH

In this weeks Torah Portion - Lech Licha, the 4 kings capture Lot the nephew of Abraham, and Abraham decimates them, chasing them till he finishes them off. The medrash recounts many awesome miracles that took place for Abrahams favor, so obviously these 4 kings are the epitome of evil, right?! So take a look at what they did other than capturing Lot. They smote AMULAIK (14:7 - Rashi explains that even though Amulaik only came into the world later, these people are called after them, not so complimentary....), and they knocked out SADOM and GEMORA and all those evil places. So from this we see that kingdoms and governments can show a front of campaigning glorious righteous crusades, but they are really up to no good, and the true tzaddik would readily see to their utter destruction.

Spiritual Orga*m

HH

The holy Torah reveals that a person binding his (/her) soul to the One Merciful G-d can have many different experiences. G-d presents Himself in the world in both a feminine and masculine attitude. The feminine presence, is the Divine Presence known as the Shechina which "rests" in the world -- the Glory of G-d, the Jewish People of Israel as a whole are a reflection of the Shechina. The masculine presence, the husband of the Shechina, is the hand and spirit of G-d emanating and projecting from Above. The Tzadik incorporates and plays the role as a chariot and vehicle for the masculine, and directly fertilizes the Shechina, cultivating her and providing her with her every need. Those who have attained such a status will not be needing to read my whimsy words.

Although the Shechina is a feminine presence, that is only with regard to the Spiritual worlds above, but with regard to the worlds underneath it, the Shechina plays a very masculine role providing and taking care of the universe as we know it. Therefore when a person binds himself to the Divine, if he is deserving he will experience the presence of the Shechina, the Shechina will be projecting to him, which means that the person will be on the receiving end, just as a female receives from a male. If the person manages not only to bind himself, but to actually achieve an encounter of complete relationship to the satisfaction of a complete devotion, there will be a spiritual orga*m. For males this will take more time and devotion to master, because men in their physical role are designed to experience the spontaneous gratification which culminates with very tangible expression, which is not going to be forthcoming spiritually. It will take them much time to even realize they have achieved a strong relationship. Whereas women, physically do not so much aim for and definitely do not depend on a dramatic clima*, but rather grow and develop their feelings with intensity, warming and getting hotter, all the while basking in the pleasure of what is being done to/with/for them. Therefore women have an outright advantage in achieving meaningful union with the Divine. They are more at home and natural to this relationship. This could be working reasoning to what our Sages revealed that Sarah's prophecy was superior to her husband's - Abraham (of course this is only with respect to the Shechina, whereas Abraham's main role would be as the tzadik, which attends to the Shechina). When a man to feel tears spurting from his eyes he will not naturally associate that with orga*m, but a woman will revel and delight even as if reacting from physical stimulation.

May the Glory of G-d be revealed to the whole world, may we merit to bask in His Presence!
