Until today I always viewed the "i" as a line with a dot on top. Today it occurred to me to view it  as a little dot, with a line to provide it with visibility and placement.  BH a definite sign of progress. May we merit to a lot more, in the aspect of I am Na Nach Nachma Nachman MayUman - the real secret of the I, as discussed and elaborated elsewhere.

In honor of the hilula of the holy saint Rabbi Naftoli author of Smichas Chachumim, master kabalist, composer etc. etc. buried in Istanbul and visited by Rabbainu Na Nach Nachma Nachman Meuman, and the hilula of Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liodi o.b.m..

On Facebook I have a friend who is connected to chabad, and he quoted from some of their greatest heros testimony that one can never fully abolish his self awareness and ego.

Rabbainu on the other hand professes that even the most simple Jew can experience moments of absolute abnegation where is completely nullified in the Ain Sof BH.

And thus we establish that the most lowly Nanach is infinitely ahead.

One who attaches himself to a speeding car easily and dramatically surpasses even the most talented and competent Olympic sprinter.

Humility

How can one attain humility, isn't one's own ego always going to be at work for any attainment (-Rabbi Nussun actually asked this from Rabbainu - and I discuss this there B"H)?!

One has to invite upon himself a realization of something much great than himself. Imagine walking into a miniature world made of sparkling crystals and diamonds and gems - you would forget about yourself - you would just be in awe - that is already humility. Now imagine every step you take you see that you are smearing the surface and darkening the room etc., you would want to disappear, that is real humility.

We must pray to start to get some real conception of the utter magnificence of what the world is about, and we will just want to melt into the surroundings without leaving any markings.

This is in fact the humility of HY, Who created the world with all of creation and left it with no visible trace of Himself.

This is one step of understanding. Now we can understand that in reality all of creation is like a garment to HY who is hiding behind it, revealed and concealed. When one praises G-d's creation, he fixes the garment so that it is revealed. And this is what it says in Psalms, Hashem reigned haughtiness He wears.... The haughtiness of the world that stands as an entity of itself, is in reality G-d's garment of humility which shows His utter unparalleled greatness.

May we merit to many more steps of understanding.

Holy Brazenness -- ויגבה לבו - עזות דקדושה

Rabbi Nachman says that sin is so disgusting, especially sexual sins, for a true tzaddik even fulfilling the mitzva of having children is excruciatingly painful - because the tzaddik lives the da'as - the true intellect, and this act involves a person with parts of the body which are the vessels and conduits of the body's waste and gore, and all the more so, sexual sin G"F, is completely repugnant and disgusting. So a person must have holy ego and brazenness to hold himself upright and not to fall to what does not behoove and become of him. And so with all matters of holy aspirations, one must be very strong and resolute in self esteem and confidence, and not be meek and humble (- this is a little complicated, because true resolution and holy brazenness will actually be humility, but I cannot explain this here), Just when it comes to general matters one must be utmost humble. So we find by Yosef, when he was accosted by the wife of Poateefar, the holy Torah records a whole speech in which Yosef asserts his prestige, and in so doing he refused to acquiesce to fall into sin.

טבע של האדם מהיצר הרע, להיות כאילו ענו בעניני עבודת השם, מי הוא בכלל שיזכה להשיג את התורה וצדקות וכן בענין הנסיונות של שמירת הברית, האדם לא אוחז מעצמו, ונופל לדברים מכוערים רחמנא ליצלן. אבל בעניני חול יש לו כל גאוה בריאה מאד השם ירחם. וזה צריך להיות הפוך לגמרי. אצל יוסף הצדיק כאשר אשת פוטיפר תבעו לדבר עבירה, פתאום הוא מאריך בגדולתו, והתורה מקדשת כל דבריו, איננו גדול בבית הזה וכו'. כאשר באים לידי נסיון, צריכים הרבה גאוה, עזות דקדושה להיות חזק בדעה שמעשים מכוערים הם לא מתאימים ולא ראויים לך, וכן לענין כל דבר של קדושה, צריכים להיות תקיף בדעה שזה שייך לך, ואילו בדברים של חול, צריכים תכלית הענוה.
