The Unity of Gd and anthropomorphism

HH

IMPORTANT: Hashem Yisburach is ONE, all the anthropomorphism presented with the Sefeeroas (Divine Emanations) are only tracing what transpires in the world to their source in HY, and as such they are given names and attributes, but in reality it is just the One G-d who is doing everything (See Klach Pischay Chuchma, article 5 - for a fuller and deeper explanation). Understand this well, for it is a fundamental gateway and foundation.

Pure Simple Faith

HH

Rabbainu revealed that faith in HY should be absolutely pure and simple. Lihavdil (to make a strong barrier and distinction) there are heathen religions that quite erroneously demand people to just accept their religion on pure faith. So why exactly (- i.e. everyone feels in their heart the huge difference, but might have some difficulty verbalizing it) is the former so correct and the latter so very wrong?!

HY is the One and Only G-d, He is the absolute entity which all of existence is included in Him. That means that faith in HY is the paradigm of simplicity. So therefore when a person has simple faith, it is faith in the One and only, this is faith in faith itself. There is no need to know more, just that He is the G-d of Israel – for this is the way of stating and establishing this truth that G-d is absolutely One, as His unity is reflected in Israel. Any other religion has some monkey wrench that is thrown in with equations and whatnot, one must accordingly have faith in something other than faith itself, he must have faith in whatever it is they are pushing.

Tachanun (prayer of falling on one's face after the shmone esray)

HH

The custom in Breslov is to say the real Tachanun, i.e. Psalms 25, and on the left hand - the one wrapped with the tefilin.

Because the idea of Tachanun is to lower one's soul to the lower worlds to bring up from there the holy elements, many were scared to do this all the way, therefore the Ashkanazim opted to use a different Psalm 6 - so that a person doesn't actually go all the way into this rectification, and the Sfardim, while using the right Psalm, do not fall on their face. Rabbainu enacted that we do this tikun completely and properly. Even still if one is not committed to give this prayer is soul and his heart, it would be better for him, in that instance, to follow the masses and just go along without getting embroiled in this Tikun.

It seems to me, that the lowly places where in previous good times were only visited during Tachanun, are common to the daily experiences most of us have HY. Of course even for us there are lower places, but in the general scheme of things, basically we are pretty much there at the bottom (Asiya d'asiya...). Therefore, on the contrary, the hope of the masses lies specifically in doing the Tachanun in the complete manner and procedure instituted. Since in any event we have fallen to these places (which even the greatest Tana-im did not want to experience), precisely this prayer in it's pure form and fashion, are the call of the day to adress full on the tikun we must do, and retain our holiness, and rise above B"H.

It is interesting to note that Rabbi Elazar Hagadol, was a master of the Tachanun, and it is Rabbi Elazar Hagadol that promotes the Night Service of Arviss, teaching how a person should pay most special attention and consideration to this prayer. This prayer correlates to the darkness of our current exilt.

That which Rabbi Sadia Gaon revealed to Rabbainu that we should fall on our left hand, even though it is wrapped in the holy tefilin, is also I think a practice for our times, when our entire life, in all it's holiness is in a very low place. So we are going with the tefilin even there. However, there is no excuse G"F to bring the holy tefilin any lower, like e.g. chabad who put the holy tefilin on people without a single word or mention that one must not have any bad thoughts or pass gas while wearing tefilin (not to mention the people often have not even washed their hands as prescribed by our Sages in the morning, making it forbidden for them to touch anything, let alone the tefilin. There are other violations, but those are very outstanding and critical). Basically they are throwing the highest sanctity in to the klipos (evil husks) and who knows how much the exile is being lengthened due to their cruelity (feeding on the honor and recognition of the masses). Rabbainu says, fall on your tefilin straps, but no more than that HY.

There are things that mamash boggle my mind when I say the Tachanun, I will share a few here:

1. "Elokay" - my G-d. Do I actually have such a direct relationship and knowledge of HY, speaking to him directly with this title?! Even though in all the blessings we are saying directly to HY, "attu" (You), which also should be mind-boggling, even still, we are used to it, and it is does not say this whole title - MY PERSONAL G-d. Even the forefathers, who did not stop thinking of HY even for once second, 24/7, not even in their sleep, would not have HY call himself Their G-d, until their passing from the world. And here....

2. "Deruchecha Hashem" -- this I believe to indicate the 26 Deruchim of YHVH, we are asking to be privy to these, unbelievable....

3. His soul will lean in good. "tullin" -- lean - has the numerical value of Na Nach Nachma Nachman MeUman (with the inclusion)!

Five Levels of Pleasure

HH

Truth is that this is really good Torah, I am not sure how he merited to it, but he did. This is a Torah from my uncle (grandfather's younger brother) R' Noach Weinberg ob"m. You can see it at length at the aish website they have a page with the whole thing laid out.

Basically we know that man was created to delight in G-d (Ramchal, who's hilula is this Friday), so my uncle laid out 5 levels of pleasure (which can easily be correlated to the 5 partzufim, nukva, zeir, ema, aba, arich). 1st level pleasures are sensual, including sex. 2nd level: love and children. 3rd: a cause. 4th: power. 5th: G-d.

As my uncle points out, the problem is that people don't know how to enjoy these pleasures, and usually they actually suffer from them. So he introduced a Yiddish word that actually made it into the English dictionary: kvell. Which means to experience the joy and pride from something. Parents can just sit and kvell watching their children in delight.

The thing is that kvell also falls short, both in quality and quantity. That of course is where meditation comes in. The problem with meditation is that most of the systems out there are based on pagan idiots, and the framework for "Jewish meditation" is quite shaky.

[This is why addictions and pornography prevail. People get an easy score from them, whereas they can't find any satisfaction from a higher source. Once a person learns how to reach and push Divine buttons, he creates a refuge, allowing himself the possibility of delving into kosher channels, even if it takes more effort, instead of feeling compelled to resort to low measures].

In addition, meditation can not be the complete solution, for even someone who can achieve very satisfying experiences when meditating must still face the challenges life presents to him, and the chances are, the higher that person can go while meditating the more cataclysmic life will be for him. Take for example the great Kabalist Avrohom Abulafia who achieved what can be considered minor prophecy - Abulafia writes how he was completely confounded by tempest of trials and tribulations which encompassed him subjugating him to impure forces and energies, making it utterly impossible for him, for many years, to even attempt achieving the states of consciousness he knew how to access.

Rabbainu's way of hisbodidus is therefore the supreme method and guide in forging a path of meditation which builds a persons life in balance, giving him mastery of all the pleasures G-d set out for him.

Rabbi Nachman and his disciples offered many important tips and directives on how to go about doing hisbodidus. Some of them are brought down directly in regard to hisbodidus, and some are small statements found interspersed in the great vast teachings of Breslov. Today different rabbis or gurus have assembled packages of instructions which they offer to the public. Unfortunately I have yet to see, or even hear of anyone today that can profess achieving any serious ecstasy from their hisbodidus. Sure many people experience euphoria and some transient high, but I haven't found someone who can actually build a proper establishment of Divine pleasure.

Like everything, especially with Rabbainu Na Nach Nachma Nachman MeUman, the key is in complete simplicity and straightforwardness. Focus on this objective, latch on, and keep strong till you win.

Since the objective is G-d Himself. Focus on G-d, latch on, and don't let go.

This is what Rabbainu said once, to sit down by the table, and feel G-d looking upon you until you turn red in the face. Very simple, extremely powerful, utterly rewarding!

This should be a common practice, exercise, the Baal Shem Tov praised the tzadikim who go about their whole day with this consciousness. So it is a good idea to do it for at least a few minutes a day. To feel the effect, the touch, the kiss of the Divine...

Peace

HH

So much talk about peace, but if people don't have peace within themselves how can they have peace with others? In every person all the 70 nations are warring, and only through the holy ways of Na Nach Nachma Nachman MeUman can their war cries be quenched and silenced.

When G-d goes to war he goes alone, in contradistinction to Kings of flesh and blood who need to bring entire armies, and when G-d goes to bring peace, He brings out the troops, in contradistinction to Kings of flesh and blood.... (Rashi, Bamidbar - Numbers 12:5).

G-d's unity is utter peace, thus G-d's unity in itself is the conquering power of all wars, and in the war to end all wars and bring Peace, and then G-d comes out with the troops.

This is the way of Rabbainu Nachman of Breslov - Na Nach Nachma Nachman MeUman, who has taken upon himself to conquer the world for the Holy One Merciful G-d, and how has he set out -- with one minute little note -- the holy Petek! Who would endeavor such a formidable task and goal and arm himself with a small piece of paper that could be shredded or burned instantly?! Rabbainu - Na Nach Nachma Nachman MeUman learned this from the Lord G-d Almighty Himself!!!!

With one little Petek Rabbainu turns over the entire universe to the ultimate Good!

HH from the book Conception of the Divine: Moses asked G-d show me Your glory. So G-d answers in astonishment, how is it at all possible for someone to have any life whatsoever if he doesn't see Me?!

Honesty and humility

HH Rabbi Nachman revealed that there are two things: truth and humility. There are many levels and depths of truth they are the values that G-d signs in creation. Their place and existence is in humility. No one can see G-d because in His infinite humility He will never show Himself, He will just show His Attributes. When a person completely abnegates himself, he slips under the veil and all of G-d's attributes radiate now from him, and thus he knows G-d firsthand. This is the way the Jews received the Torah on Purim (קיימו מה שקיבלו כבר). This is why Moshes name is not mentioned in this weeks portion because he told G-d that he needed to see the Jewish people as his Torah and erase himself as not (32:32 if not ersae me now.... Read from left to right it spells I am Nachman and the acronym spells out from Uman!). Na Nach Nachma Nachman Me'Uman!

With the help of G-d blessed be His name, and His true tzadikim, particularly Rabainu Na Nach Nachmu Nachmun MayUman, of blessed memory, I will begin to write some of the truth I merited to percieve. Until I am able to write things in an organized fashion, I will write whatever matters come to mind.
- Someone who is really trying to serve G-d and be a proper person will forsure be under great pressures and stress by the evil inclination, this is cleary stated in the Gemura, that everyday a persons evil inclination overpowers him, and if not for the help of the Holy One B"h, a person would not be able to overcome the onslaught. Rabbi Nachman say that the reason for this is so that the person will be forced to turn to G-d for everything (this is also taught in other holy books, the Ishbitzer (one of the main mentors of Shlomo Carlbach, and Teacher and Master of R' Tzadok Hacohen (who authored notes to Sefer Hamidos)) in May Hasheloach Likutim puts it quite beautifuly, that a person trying to guard the covenant (especially that of his body along with the thoughts attached) will have huge ups and downs, often chancing upon wonderous solutions only to fall again afterwoods etc.. All of this, the Ishbitzer says, is because G-d desires that the person should speak to him, and he will suffer trials and tribulations until he begins this holy practice of constantly speaking and conversing with G-d). Therefor it is obvious that such a person, upon hearing about anything that can help him in his struggle, will not mock it or discount, just like a drowning man will not examine something being extended to him to save him. Only after trying the offered help will any criticism be in order. So all those out there, upon hearing about Na Nach are given an opportunity to pull themselves out of the mess they are in, and their reaction will be based on how much they care about their plight.
