Blossoms of the Spring - Letter 37: "Be strong, so strong, because everything will turn into good by way of the song of seventy-two strings..."

 

Letter 37

 

BH, 28^th of Elul [5]720 (Tuesday – September 20, 1960), Tel-Aviv.

 

My beloved, my precious one, Mr. Z. Shazar – who is good and charming to all, who draws life from the waters of loving-kindness, which in them hangs the root of his [third person] lifeforce and the rectification of his soul. May he be written and sealed amongst the holy gathering in the book of the Tzaddik for pleasant and good life, for long life, and for peace to no end.

 

With the happiness of my heart, I received his letter together with the check amounting to one-hundred Israeli Liras, from the 24^th day of Elul, and I am jubilant over his salvation, that which God was of his assistance, and he merited that it should spark in his pure heart a bit of the sparking of the luminary of the Tzaddik – who dug and found the redemption and emancipation of our souls, and [who] yearns to plant His light in the heart of His friends who heed His call, and [who] longs with unrelenting longing with all His heart and all His might to strengthen his matters, and to support His people with a nice portion – with love and goodwill. In my mouth, there is no word to thank you for all this loving-kindness and good, may God recompense his good act, and may He assist and shield over him and his house, and may He bless them with a good and sweet year, and may He make him successful, and may He enlighten him with the realization of the knowledge [Da’as] of Rabbeinu Z”l – who conducts us to enliven ourselves with the bit of good that we merit to snatch in this word, and to gladden ourselves with this, and to yearn to grab more, and to start each time anew to return to God, blessed He.

 

My precious one, my friend, for the sake of God, his mind and thoughts shouldn’t budge – only to be with us for Rosh Hashana, and to insert his head between the souls who attach themselves to the soul, the light of Rabbeinu Z”l – and then there will be good for him. And if the obstacles are strong, then it’s even better still, for the main passion and longings to return to Him, blessed He, strengthens only through the breaking of obstacles (see The Letters of R’ Nachman Tulchiner 4). Be strong, so strong, because everything will turn [reverse] into good by way of the song of seventy-two strings of the holy and awesome Tzaddik who never had any glimpse into this world, and the whole world doesn’t amount by Him to the blink of an eye etc. (see Story of the Seven Beggars).

 

With eternal friendship and love, the one who remembers him constantly in the depths of the heart, and who supplicates and prays for him; wishes of wellbeing and salvations in this [world] and the next [world]; the transcriber and the arranger:

אוהבי יקירי, מר ז.שזר, הטוב ונחמד לכל, השואב חיים ממימי החסד שבהם תלוי שורש חיותו ותיקון נפשו. יכתב ויחתם בתוך הקיבוץ הקדוש בספר הצדיק לחיים טובים ונעימים, לחיים ארוכים ולשלום אין קץ.

בשמחת לבבי קיבלתי מכתבו בצרוף צי'ק על סך מאה ל"י מיום כ"ד אלול, ושש אנוכי על ישועתו אשר היה ה' בעזרו וזכה שיתנוצץ בליבו הזך איזה מעט התנוצצות מאור הצדיק אשר חפר ומצא גאולה ופדות נפשנו, ומגעגע לנטוע אורו בלב ידידיו הסרים למשמעתו, ומשתוקק בהשתוקקות נמרץ בכל נפשו ומאודו לחזק ענייניו ולתמוך את אנשיו במנה יפה באהבה וברצון. אין בפי מלה להודות לו על כל החסד והטוב הזה, ישלם ה' פעלו הטוב, ויעזור ויגן עליו ועל ביתו ויברכם בשנה טובה ומתוקה, ויצליחו וישכילו במתיקת הדעת של רבינו ז"ל המוליך אותנו להחיות את עצמנו במעט הטוב אשר זוכין לחטוף בזה העולם, ולשמח את עצמנו בזה, ולהשתוקק לחטוף עוד, ולהתחיל בכל פעם מחדש לשוב לה' יתברך.

יקירי חביבי, למען ה' אל יזוז דעתו ומחשבתו, רק להיות עמנו על ראש השנה, ולהכניס ראשו בין הנפשות המקשרים את עצמם עם נשמת אור רבינו ז"ל, ואז טוב לו. ואם המניעות חזקים. עוד טוב יותר ויותר, כי עיקר החשק והכיסופין לשוב אליו יתברך מתגברין רק על ידי שבירת מניעות. חזק וחזק כי הכל יתהפך לטובה על ידי הניגון של ע"ב נימין של הצדיק הקדוש והנורא שלא היה לו שום הסתכלות בזה העולם, וכל העולם אינו עולה אצלו כהרף עין וכו'.

בידידות ואהבת עולם, הזוכרו תמיד בעמקי הלב ומעתיר ומתפלל עליו, דורש שלומו וישועתו בזה ובבא. המעתיק והמסדר.
